Guess how much DH weighs

So I am going to add DH (with his permission!) to the Zoe app which is helping researchers track what’s going on with Covid in real time (you report whether you feel well/unwell every day).

However, to add him I need to state his weight and he hasn’t weighed himself in about 20 years. We don’t own scales. His trousers waist measurement is usually 32”/34”, and he’s about 5’9”/5’10” tall.

Anyone any idea? I literally don’t even have a ballpark idea of what an adult male of his build /height weighs!

Guess how much DH weighs

12 st 4lbs

Wigeon · 11/09/2020 22:20

@Gulsink Obvs DD (12) had to show me how to pixelate him (actually, no, she did it herself), cos I’m now at the age where my children know more about technology than me 😬

Have you got a see-saw and 70-80 bags of sugar/flour?
If by any chance you don't have the flour/sugar, use a measuring jug. A ml of liquid weighs a gram. Hope this helps.Grin

Another vote for 75-80kg. He's not got a skinny paunch.

borntohula · 11/09/2020 22:26

Hmm around 12 stone.

MrsMcMuffins · 11/09/2020 22:28

He is 82 kg

MutteringDarkly · 11/09/2020 22:28

Oh pleeeeease do @Gulsink 's idea! There's a Sean the Sheep alternative version using a balanced plank with a shopping trolley on each end, using bricks as the measure to weigh the sheep. I don't know how much a brick weighs though...

Pushmepullyou · 11/09/2020 22:30

My DH is the same height. At a similar size I think he was about 13 stone

Wakeupalready · 11/09/2020 22:30

My husband is the same height, with the same waist measurements. He's 48.
He currently weighs 80.5 kg, but this is 5 kg heavier than he would normally be , as his martial arts gym has shuttered for the past few months and he is not as fit as he'd normally be.

I was feeling a bit mean until someone else said what I was thinking. I estimate near 13stone.

I will take 12st 9lb, he’s the same height/size as my OH and I’m convinced men always weigh a little more than you think as they’re a tad... denser Grin

raddledoldmisanthropist · 11/09/2020 22:33

950 Newton's.

AHintOfStyle · 11/09/2020 22:38

I guess 12stones 1&1/2 pounds

(I'll collect my prize in the morning!)

ManxomeFoe · 11/09/2020 22:39

I'm guessing 12st 1lb. Mainly because I don't think anyone else has taken that yet.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 11/09/2020 22:39

he is 175 lbs, or 79.37 kg. I want cake :)

Good idea re the seesaw, apart from us but having a seesaw. Or 80 bags of flour. Hm. We do have one of those devices which you can dangle a holiday suitcase off, to see if it’s within your airline’s baggage allowance - do you think I could rig that up somehow? Maybe to the top of the climbing frame in the garden and dangle DH off it by his collar?

Also if there are prizes/ cat pictures/ cakes riding on this then you might want to consider whether you trust the accuracy of your neighbour's scales. Might you want to borrow scales from three different neighbours, then take an average?

SomethingOnce · 11/09/2020 22:42

Never have I been more keen for an OP to update a thread. We need to know!

Is there no all-night pharmacy with a pay-to-weigh machine? How about a 24-hour gym?

thisisnotus · 11/09/2020 22:43

You know it won't matter on that app if it's not exact? The point being that he's obviously not overweight or obese. So I'd have a guess at 11 and 1/2 stone. Check if that is somewhere in the healthy weight range for his height, et voila, put it in.

artyandtarty · 11/09/2020 22:44

13 stone 5 pounds

giantangryrooster · 11/09/2020 22:47

73 kg. If you have kitchen scales you could weigh him piece by piece Wink.

Pikachubaby · 11/09/2020 22:47

12-13 stone, closer to 13
