Hello,

I am in the bath with a glass of water 😂 and was thinking about this so mumsnet what would you do?

I'm gonna think about my answer carefully and post it in the comments, I know it's damn near impossible to win the lottery but this is all fun and it's nice to think about fantasies 😂

I'd buy myself my dream flat & furnishings. Put some aside.

Pay off my mum and dad's mortgage.

Divide the rest up among family.

I'd make a huge donation to my school.

Then the rest to charity.

yolio · 21/08/2020 19:35

It usually ends very badly, so I'm happy with my lot.

See if there's anything that can be done to save my dad.

KTD27 · 21/08/2020 19:40

@HouchinBawbags Flowers for you and your dad.
For us it would ease a massive amount of worry. Both made redundant due to COVID and struggling to get jobs.
Buy a house. Set up DH with the dream business
And give the rest away

Longdistance · 21/08/2020 19:42

I’d retired at 44. Tell my work colleague that I can stand 🖕🏼shower my other work colleague who’s a diamond with expensive gifts. Book into the local Manor House hôtel and hide out for a few days before making any major decisions as to who will get what.

NatashaRomanov · 21/08/2020 19:42

Cry with relief.
Argue with my husband about whether we stay in this village, or move nearer our families.
Pay off family (well, parents, and some siblings!) mortgages. Buy my sister a bungalow. Buy a house for my cousin and her family who had had a rather tough 9 months or so.

Move. Have a holiday. Have driving lessons. Think about what charities to support.

And wonder when I am going to wake up!!

WisestIsShe · 21/08/2020 19:43

Oh. I play this game regularly so I already know. I'm a child minder so every child who's ever passed through my care is getting a trust fund. Then I'd like a Scottish estate for general living, maybe a bolt hole in the Caribbean for the winter.
And my dog and I are going to wash the coastline of Europe. (Not looked in to the practicalities but this is the dream)

reflectivesunglasses · 21/08/2020 19:43

Open the champagne

Write and send my resignation email

Pay off my mortgage and also my sister's

Establish my charitable trust primarily for supporting children and families

WisestIsShe · 21/08/2020 19:43

Walk* the coastline!

golddustwomen · 21/08/2020 19:44

Buy a house for me and the kids so I could leave oh. Buy my mom a house as she rents and has been made redundant.

Ylfa · 21/08/2020 19:44

Commission loads of art from my favourite artists then auction it all off for the campaign to stamp out raptor persecution in the British isles.

Definitely build some new stables.

Buy some land and rewild it.

Buy a disused motel in Southern California and start a commune/cult

GuyFawkesDay · 21/08/2020 19:44

See my family right. And my most loved.
Make a lot of charity trust funds
Set up an education foundation of some sort.
Build a wing at my old school, provided they name it after me so I can stick them two fingers on a daily basis 😆

Then buy my dream cottage/farmhouse. I'm not interested in a mansion. Not me at all.

Then have a horse, couple of dogs and start the shop I've always dreamed of having.

Travel when I feel like it.

reflectivesunglasses · 21/08/2020 19:45

I forgot my coastal retreat, thanks for the reminder Smile

boomchikawowwow · 21/08/2020 19:46

First off I'd make sure my parents were mortgage free and had enough to both retire after working so hard for me and my brother all their lives.

I'd put money into accounts for my children so they were sorted. I'd make sure the rest of my family were comfortable.

I'd buy a house, a decent car, pay off debts. I'd let OH pick whatever stupid fast car he wanted. I'd go on a proper shopping spree, be pampered properly.

I'd donate to two charities that mean a lot to me.

But other than that I don't know what I'd do with all that money!!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/08/2020 19:46

Hire out a central London Michelin star restaurant for me and my close family- take limos uptown, to celebrate

Call an estate agent- start mansion hunting..must have room for a soft play

Go buy a Range Rover and an Aston Martin

Start searching for a remote island with no covid and book a jet

Book in at the Portland hospital for a c section in November as I’ll be too posh to push

Start hunting for a full time nanny

Newjez · 21/08/2020 19:46

I'd buy the houses either side of Priti Patel and fill them with asylum seekers.

Morfin · 21/08/2020 19:48

I think it's worth buying a ticket just for the time you spend in the bath dreaming. I will do the altruistic stuff next week, tomorrow I would just spend spend spend. I'd channel my inner Brewster Grin

CoronaBollox · 21/08/2020 19:49

Buy my dream house. Give 1 million 2 of my closest friends. Set up some sort of trust fund for 3 DC and then host the biggest street party anyone has ever seen, everyone's invited as my way of saying "see you later fuckers" Grin then a month in a quiet sunny place to figure what I would do with the rest.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 21/08/2020 19:50

My sister’s just been told she’s likely to be made redundant - I’d give her a few million to tide her over! And my dad lost his business last year, so the same to him. Same to my mum for the sake of fairness, and DH’s brother. A castle for us to live in, with full staff to tidy and clean and cook. Ponies all round, and kit out a barn as a gym with a trampoline and a trapeze and a swimming pool. Hire a trampoline instructor. Donate a chunk to my club to keep it going.

vagoftheday · 21/08/2020 19:52

Buy a lovely house. Not a mansion but a house on the beach which is my dream.
Quit my hateful job.
Make sure my friends and a couple of family members are looked after.
Give a substantial amount to various charities that are important to me.

Then I'd have lots of fun with my partner and friends.
I don't have hugely expensive tastes really I just want to enjoy my life.
We wouldn't own more than one property but we'd have nice holidays. I'd love a custom fitted camper van. That would make me really happy.

Morfin · 21/08/2020 19:52

@Newjez

I'd buy the houses either side of Priti Patel and fill them with asylum seekers.
Fuck me, cancel my plans I'm doing this.
MrsAvocet · 21/08/2020 19:52

I'd buy the small- medium sized business that my DD currently works for. Its got huge potential but is badly run. Curiously we were talking about this only last night. How we'd develop it, which staff we'd keep etc. Well, we can dream Grin
Oh and I'd tell my own boss to go fuck himself and never set foot in the place again.

Shizzlestix · 21/08/2020 19:52

Give in my notice.
Get my mum a cleaner.
Pay off my brother’s mortgage.
Buy a country pile with land and move the horse there with several new friends!

meow1989 · 21/08/2020 19:52

@newjez thats a delicious idea.

I would pay off mortgage and buy a huge detached house with land, a pool, a rool top bath and a kitchen with an island plus cinema room. Buy some farm animals or resue some.

I'd buy my sister and her husband a similar house

I'd gift a couple of million to them and my parents and in laws.

Buy a holiday home or two (this country and abroad)

Pay off my car buy dh a new car and a little Nissan figaro to piotle about in nn

Id like to think id donate a substantial amount to charities too.

Beyond that no travel till covid sorted!
