Hello,

I am in the bath with a glass of water 😂 and was thinking about this so mumsnet what would you do?

I'm gonna think about my answer carefully and post it in the comments, I know it's damn near impossible to win the lottery but this is all fun and it's nice to think about fantasies 😂

Bring my friend and her little family home where they belong.

Buy a few flats to house women and children rebuilding their lives after DV, and set up a charity to manage.

Retreat to a modest little cottage in the country.

TwoCupsOfLemonTea · 22/08/2020 10:12

Is anonymously buy Macclesfield Town football club too ... it makes me sad what's happened to it despite not being a football fan!! I'd ask DS to run it

JontyDoggle37 · 22/08/2020 10:22

I would pay off the house, finish the massive renovation job on it really quickly.
Buy new cars for both of us.
Put a couple of million in trust for DS when he’s 25.
Pay off the mortgages on the two houses we rent out, then buy about twenty more, so them up beautifully and rent them out to families in need at under market rent.
Donate a chunk to Refuge, Homeless and Horse charities.
Close my business and sign up for salsa and art classes.
Buy another horse and a new horse lorry.
Hire a personal trainer to help me lose weight and get fit.
Ditch my entire wardrobe (once I’ve lost weight) and buy all new, with the aid of a personal shopper.
Donate some money to DS’s school
As you can tell, I’ve thought about this quite a lot Grin

@SleepingStandingUp

Pay family and our debt

Feature on Grand Designs as we build our new home.

Open a charity to support life income families access FE/HE

Self publish and properly market my husband's comics and art work.

Holiday home in Wales.

Learn to drive and buy a car

Open a coffee shop/book shop in near both homes where I have a full staff but also I can go in and do some shifts when I need grounding, and retain responsibility for buying ask the second hand books

I've also always said is but my friend a house, she has two kids with disabilities and really needs a 4 bed adapted house.

Money to my family, school friends, uni friends and a couple of other friends. Noe give up work amounts but enough for a good treat and a safety net.

Money to our local children's hospice and the one that support friend mentioned above.

Book a cruise as DS can't fly.

Pay the best doctors to investigate my son's medical issues and pay the best therapists to work with him. I don't doubt were not seen by the best, I do doubt they have enough time to do what they could do in their private appts.

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 22/08/2020 10:48

Knowing my luck - I'd wake up!

RainbowRaine · 22/08/2020 10:54

I would buy my sister a disability adapted bungalow and pay for her to have private medical care.

I would buy myself a nice 4/5 bed house.

DC would have a flat/house each.

I could finally divorce DH

I would have a cleaner, cook and a nanny.

DC would be able to go any university they wanted.

ILoveAnOwl · 22/08/2020 11:23

Resign. Find an excellent nanny. Check into a spa/retreat type thing for 3 months. Emerge in 3 months tanned, toned and marvellous with a fully formed plan for the future.

Animum2 · 22/08/2020 11:57

I'd buy some land in the countryside somewhere and build a nice house and use the land to have rescue animals and an area for people to bring their pets to stay whilst they go on holiday

CaffeineInfusion · 22/08/2020 13:43

Ooh. I have given this LOTS of thought over the years😁

Move house.

I have the nastiest neighbour ever. I am so mentally exhausted with his games. So, I would pay the most obnoxious family I could find to move into my current home. Buy the house the other side, invite the obnoxious family's relatives to there live rent free.

My current arse of a neighbour is self employed. So, set up in the business premises next door, offering the same service for a quid. Just to help with the accounts.

Once his business has gone bust, and he's forced to move, I'd be quite happy🤣

In the meantime, there are 2 hospices near to me. One for adults, one for children. Neither are government funded but are both such wonderful places. I'd back them all the way.

PollyPelargonium52 · 22/08/2020 14:56

Sell up and move to Muswell Hill.

Lifeisabeach09 · 22/08/2020 15:13

Quit.
Buy (or build) a house with a garden and pool. Nothing too big.
Buy a holiday home in France or Spain.
Pay off loved ones mortgages, bills, and buy them property (actually I'd gift them so they could do this!)
Hire a 24/7 care team for my father.
Travel the world (post-Pandemic!)

Deathraystare · 22/08/2020 15:41

I don't think my dream house exists! I browse 'dream houses' but sometimes they are really expensive with a shoddy garden (shingle and decking) or just concrete. No garage (yeah I know I do not drive and don't have a car but still....).

However, it would be fun looking!

I would see my family and friends got some money and I would travel. In fact perhaps the idea is to travel all the time and live out of hotels!!!

But then again I would love to have some cats so would need somewhere permanent for them.

Decisions Decisions....
