Because bitter male cucumbers don't bring joy, but phallic aubergines can raise an irreverent smile.

AD chat continues about life, the universe and everything. We know the answer is 42 but what is the question?
6x7?
How many roads must a man walk down?
How many unsadly reincarnations have PHE put into the database?

I've had a good day out with the ILs, the only family that DH has over here. First time we've seen them since Christmas. Went to a largely outdoors attraction.
They were relaxed about interacting and it was all very natural.

Only had to cover up for the entrance zone and canteen area. I definitely struggle more where there is more sensory input and moving around. It just makes everything harder, breathing, talking, hearing other people, orientating myself. Quieter, smaller, cooler places are more tolerable.

It really warms my heart when someone delurks and finds us as a glimmer of sanity 😍
It's hard when you feel like the world is gaslighting you, but you look at the numbers and feel your opinion is justified, and still the world (or maybe just MN) shouts you down.

Doubly hard when hormones are playing up (that might be next week for me..)

In case I get banned for my posting on Climbdad's latest thread 😁 it's been nice knowing you. Sorry, i just couldn't .resist

countrygirl99 I can't even open them from that poster as they are just full of doom and gloom. Some people just love misery for company.

Justgivemewine · 15/08/2020 19:01

@Miljea. Sounds like our tip. Tbh I didn’t bother reading all the rules, just ticked the box and loaded the car. It was actually the best tip experience I’d had if there can be such a thing 😂 didn’t have to queue for ages, staff were as helpful as they could be including the guy who helped me with my humongous cardboard box, tbf it was 2m long so we maintained SD quite nicely.

@Blobby10 Flowers been there, done that, sometimes you just have to let it all out. Even though dh and I are both vulnerable, I’m sick of the whole bloody thing, I need the kids back at school, we haven’t seen our families for over a year, and dh’s dementoring makes me want to strangle him sometimes.

Thought you might all appreciate my home grown (non de-flowered) cucumber.

Oh! 🤭

Went for a long, solo leg stretch, this afternoon. Pleased to see our city centre absolutely heaving, minus the shrieking gangs of drunks usually to be found on a Saturday afternoon.

Also pleased to find the loos in the market place open!

Welcometothelifeboatparty · 15/08/2020 19:19

Nice cucumber 😜

TheOrchidKiller · 15/08/2020 19:22

@Pleasenomoreglitter you don't need to eat out with Rishi if you've got that on the menu at home. (Fnar fnar).

Thank you all, I'm particularly proud of it 🤣

Picked up 2kg of strawberries today from the local stall nearby, they're the small non pretty ones and made some homemade fruit roll ups, smoothie mixes, froze some and making some jam tomorrow. Unfortunately we only managed 5 strawberries out of 10 plants because the toddler ate all the unripe ones!

Had a good day out at an outdoorsy adventure play place today, but I am HORRIFIED to find that their picnic tables are unsanitised

I saw your post and added something similar.

It's particularly galling seeing the posters that are protecting his delicate ego. (One of them is predictable but others, 'aww, why are you all being so rude, he doesn't deserve it' crap)

and I guess this post may well disappear if there are any d lurkers.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 15/08/2020 19:41

Not sanitised?! faints in horror.

DD1 is sleeping at her grandparents tonight. Still got DD2 at home but one out of two isn't bad!

Well it certainly brightened my Saturday evening Grin

@TrustTheGeneGenie

I'm on a schools thread. Why why why!
I was on that one briefly, tbh I'd be more worried about legionnaires than covid if I was the op if they haven't been servicing the water system as presumably they are still using the bogs (unless someone has been in to flush all the loos and bathroom taps but didn't bother with the drinking water?).

It's gone full batshit now, sitting on my hands to stop myself posting this link in there as either 1) it'll be used as an argument for keeping schools closed full stop 2) or I'll be accused of being an usforthem stodge (I've no connection at all but seems to be counter argument for anything remotely non scaremongering about kids) Sick of the blended learning part time school suggestions though as there are numerous reasons it won't work

Anyone else have a sniffing habit, re sanitisers, some of them are not so good, the one in Currys made me heave, my favourite is like inhaling neat spirits bluddy lovely. Do I have a problem?

Mrsfrumble · 15/08/2020 20:30

@justasking111 I’ve been noticing different smells and consistency of sanitizers on offer. The Tate Modern’s was particularly bad. It smelled like cheap cognac and DD complained loudly about how her hands stank all the way round the galleries.

I love the smell of the m&s one but it gives me migraines.
justasking111 · 15/08/2020 20:35

The radox one is like pouring a shot of spirits onto your hands, hic..

Bollss · 15/08/2020 20:37

Tk maxx one was vile and didn't soak into my hands properly. It left like a weird coating like when your skin is really dry.

There's been a thread about that!

The place I went to today had blue stuff like a slush puppy. I wasn't touching much so did not partake...

Slush puppy? Or de-icer?

M&S's gel was nice the first time but is too pungent now.

Primark's (desperate times call for desperate measures) was lemony mixed with gin, but not in a good way.

Pre-covid I used to regularly visit a care home that had a pungent hand gel. My student at the time described its scent as "strawberry yoghurt."
