How on earth do you have sex when you have teenagers!

It’s getting increasingly difficult! They go to bed late, dh gets up early for work and they often like watching films with us and spending time with us in the evenings which is lovely..... but we don’t often get time alone. Even when we are downstairs alone we could easily be disturbed and the floors don’t feel thick enough to have sex upstairs while they are awake without me being paranoid we’d be heard!
In 20 years together we’ve never had so little time for sex apart from when dc were tiny. Help! Any suggestions?!

Quietly, when they’re sleeping, when they’re gaming (headsets on, oblivious to the rest of the household!), when they’re out.

@Hellokitty82

I'm Amazed that during a pandemic people are this concerned about having sex!!!!
There are people dying, people loosing family members and friends, a second wave very likely and people on here seem to have their main priority as having sex!

Honest question.

What do you expect me to do about it?
And why so any of that my direct problem?

What will help with Covid issues is a good orgasm.

People were having sex in concentration camps.

It’s comforting, pleasurable, and it makes you feel human.

Christ, don’t take that away as well.

We booked ours into a football club yesterday, they were very tired when they came home and all fell asleep quite early.
Just sayin' Wink

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Your house must be great fun.

Let's all sit here quietly, munching on our daily ration of gruel and think about the pandemic. No fun, frivolity or hilarity.... There's a PANDEMIC.

I really hope that post was meant tongue and cheek....

If not, I'm sorry to piss in your cornflakes but ffs, just because there is a pandemic doesn't mean that people can't have a quick shag. Hold on till I tell DP that I'm not allowed to fancy him because of corona 🙄

without reading other posts:

VERY QUIETLY :)

And mostly daytime when son is sure to be on headphones chatting and we make sure that it's after he has had some form of proper food, so won't come barging in with "I'm hungry!"

@Hellokitty82 I didn’t realise that NOT having sex would stop people dying Hmm

All this talk of locks and door wedges...do none of your kids knock?!

We have both toddlers and teens so someone always seems to be up and about especially now when routines are out of whack, we manage with a door lock, being quiet and accepting that if the teens do hear they will have to put their headphones in - we do choose late night or early morning though so it's not so in their face

@MintyCedric in theory mine knock but not always. The one with adhd sometimes bursts in enthusiastically without thinking and so does the little one.

This thread has inspired me to ‘just get on with it’ and I’ve had more quiet or bathroom or 1am sex since I posed my OP than I have in the last month 😂😂😂

After over 20 years together, much of it exhausted with babies or toddlers, I have never had such a high sex drive which I’m not ashamed of! We have both worked outside of the home through lockdown so it’s definitely not because we’ve been at home together more, but I think lockdown has made me appreciate our closeness and as pp said sex can also be comforting.
