It's perfectly reasonable by date three, to feel like you've invested a bit in this man. You've spent your time at least. To bail out at the last minute was rude, and mean. I don't know why you're even wasting your time thinking about it. Maybe recognise that you're disappointed he turned out to be a dick head, and then forget it.
