Macdonalds hangover

I feel absolutely rubbish today! We used to have about 3 macdonalds a month before lockdown. I cooked the rest of the time. They don't exactly fill you with energy and are bad for you! But it's a treat.

Last night I had my first since lockdown. I didn't enjoy it. I was thirsty all evening.

Today my stomachs feeling delicate and I'm sluggish and tired!

It's made me realise how disgusting it is.

Does anyone else feel rubbish after them? Drinking water and had pepto bismol lol!!!

I read this thread earlier then had chronic squits just from reading about having a McDonald’s so I had best not try to eat one... Sad

CatbearAmo · 24/07/2020 17:00

It's called the McShits. Known phenomenon

SidesteppinTheRona · 24/07/2020 17:04

Yes, I quite believe it. Many years ago when we were driving to our new home in a new area we stopped at a services and had a Burger King. Can’t remember what I had but it wouldn’t have been beef. Anyway, I felt very sick afterwards and for the next couple of days.

It was grim. It even put me off those services for years!

EatsShootsAndRuns · 24/07/2020 17:06

I really fancy large fries and a strawberry milkshake now. Grin

Oh, give over 🙄
breadcakebiscuits · 24/07/2020 17:21

It was the cola, OP.

Massive infusion of liquid sugar (or sweetener if you had Diet Coke, which is even worse in a different way) and caffeine. Messes with your blood pressure and blood sugar for hours.

AuntieMarys · 24/07/2020 17:23

I made a meat chilli on Monday...First red meat for 6 months.
I spent the next morning in the toilet....not badly, just continuous shitting.

I very very rarely eat takeaway and don’t eat out much anyway (mostly the odd sandwich lunch).
I can’t tolerate McDs anymore (or Burger King). They always give me stomach ache and make me feel tired. I’m okay with fish and chips though.
I only go to McDs for bacon sandwiches and hash browns now!

Jinglebellissimo · 24/07/2020 17:27

Exactly the same as you - we used to have quite a few and the first one when they opened made us feel sooo dehydrated!

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 24/07/2020 18:13

My friend found a Happy Meal the kids had chucked under the car seat. None of it had gone mouldy, not the bun, the nuggets or the chips!

What kind of demon sociopath kids are these, who just chuck a happy meal under the seat?

"Oh no thank you mama, if my fingers are greasy my piano recital might be sub-par and the ambassador will be EVER so disappointed. Let's go home and have a lentil."

august11 · 24/07/2020 18:21

Just don't go there again.

Pippapotomus · 24/07/2020 18:56

We had one a few weeks ago for the first time since February.

I couldn't finish it. It was gross. Even DD said it wasn't very nice and left half a burger.

I felt queezy after. Before lockdown we would get it fairly often. DC haven't asked for it since!

Orangemangopineapple · 24/07/2020 19:01

I feel less of a weirdo now guys thanks lol..

On the way back up now.

I think you are right it messed my sugar levels up

Ugh, I hate McDonalds.

Give me proper thick double fried chips from a chippie any day (had a chippie tea this evening as a matter of fact). Not those anaemic little things in McDonalds.

teaandcustardcreamsx · 25/07/2020 01:36

Had my first ever McDonalds this decade a few days ago. It was bloody amazing Grin(although it was the breakfast menu which I don’t mind. Rest of it bleh)

EatsShootsAndRuns · 25/07/2020 08:09

@Thisismytimetoshine

I was being sarcastic. Sorry that you needed to have this explained to you. Hmm

Thebearsbunny · 25/07/2020 12:39

I rarely eat a MacDonald’s, probably a couple of times a year but when i do really go for it, so Big Mac, fries and coke. I usually feel ok for a couple of hours before the hangover kicks in, that’s a headache, dehydration, feeling that I’ve eaten a brick and slightly nauseous. Happens every time. God knows why I continue to eat them but it always seems like a good idea at the time. I’ve always called it my MacDonalds hangover so good to hear I’m not alone.
