Saw a bit of East Midlands news last night & they interviewed some Leicester business-owners, & residents. People sounded so weary in the way they spoke, I could hear it in their tone of voice.

Just to wade in on Ireland, I don't think the Irish are any more or less virtuous than the English. My Irish home city has definitely had its fair share of partying teens & rammed seafronts. Irish Twitter was losing it about Soho-esque big crowds in Dublin when the pubs reopened, and there's been a small recent spike in infections which seems partly linked to house parties. Meanwhile an old slightly-dementory German friend is forever complaining about her compatriots not distancing any more & behaving like the virus is gone blah blah. People are people basically

I just spoke to Dsis in Leicester, she’s beyond fed up. She’s of the opinion people there just aren’t going to put up with it for much longer .
