Anything for Rishi Wink

NothingIsWrong · 09/07/2020 23:11

Going down here! Table booked for Sunday lunch, and I was recklessly spending in a party shop this afternoon. And I had Burger King for lunch.

LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard · 09/07/2020 23:13

@PickAChew Flowers or Wine for you. May I suggest a calming walk? Wear a mask though, because it's dark so you won't know where the Covid wolf is hiding.

Seriously though, sympathies. I hope you get to see your parents soon. Watch the Butlins video if you need a laugh.

TheGreatWave · 09/07/2020 23:19

No shops for now. Work again tomorrow, maybe the weekend I might pop somewhere.

Next weekend is when we go down to see the parents. Beefeater not open so no premier Inn breakfast sadly. Dd2 is at the point of bursting with excitement. We will schedule a trip to Build a Bear for her and Lakeland for me (and then probably also The Entertainer as it will be the Monday)

TheGreatWave · 09/07/2020 23:24

Watched Marty Lewis tonight. Someone asked about refunds for holidays if you area went into lockdown. Martin talked about insurance and maybe not getting money back.

I looked at DH and told him we would just go, I really would. How could they stop us?

Willow2017 · 09/07/2020 23:27

Just checking in. My phone died and I must have knocked the damm cable just got enough juice now!
Thanks for new thread. Did my duty out and about today but working next 2 days.

Had a little Wine and found some crisps quite calming. I'm not checking out on mfo today. And I'm not walking round here at this time of night! Certainly not in my dinosaur pyjamas!

H has just been in the kitchen and not even acknowledged me. He didn't wash up after dinner tonight because he was so desperate for time with his xbox so he's bloody fending for himself, tomorrow.

PickAChew · 09/07/2020 23:31

Mfp

MagdaS · 09/07/2020 23:32

Checking in.

fartingsparkles · 09/07/2020 23:39

@IAintentDead nope, happy for people to do what suits them. To be honest with 2 dcs in tow, I was never going to get to the pub etc Things like the zoo/NT need booking, and as we're members, there is a certain amount of letting others go first, knowing we'll get there soon enough. And the weather has been a bit naff too.

BogRollBOGOF · 09/07/2020 23:40

I'm looking forwards to next week Grin

It has exciting features including:
The zoo again (saving it with annual passes)
Getting a recall on the car checked
Outdoor fitness class AND post work out social at a PUB with humans.
Meeting friends in a gazebo for pizza and face to face chat.
Kids having an outdoor sports activity.

Fucking hell that's almost a life Grin

ILoveTotoro · 09/07/2020 23:41

Oh my god how are you on another thread already 😩😩😩

Hope the fb group is going well

I had to deactivate fb. I found myself arguing with a dementor friend of my mums. I may have said the f word. And I upset my mum Sad

It was then I realised I need to be off social media for the time being (I know I'm here on mn. That's different Wink)

Anyway I am also currently on holiday amd it's awesome 🍸🍸🍸

I'm a NT member and CBA with booking for what's basically a walk around a park.

I love the NT and am happy to treat it as a charitable donation for now, but it's our a bit bored, let's pop to one on an idle Sunday type option. Not something I'm sufficiently excited about to book up in advance.

(I have learned not to stick valued pokemon in NT gyms if I want to see them again in a hurry Grin )

Willow2017 · 09/07/2020 23:58

I get what you mean Pick sometimes I am invisible too unless I am making food or badgering them to clear up thier damm mess. Its pretty crap and gets to you now and again and I have a blow up.

Stick to your guns let them fend for themselves for a while.

Nihiloxica · 10/07/2020 00:00

I get it. I'm not a booker. I want spontaneity back. I feel smothered without it.

BogRollBOGOF · 10/07/2020 00:37

Sod it. I'm now booked in for a weekday afternoon.

How fucked up is that? I've been in a virtual queue and booked a pretty walk in gardens and parkland like it's the the fucking Glastonbury Festival Confused

BogRollBOGOF · 10/07/2020 00:39

I need the spontenaity to do nice things.

Sure I need some external reason to drag my arse out of bed in the morning, but booking my whole life is just claustropobic.

I've sent an email. It's all he bloody listens to. The kids have a get out of jail free card but I can't take it off the adult I'm supposed to be able to lean on with out serious protest.
PickAChew · 10/07/2020 00:45

laptop fuck up again! Can't mumsnet be a bit more bloody consistent with their styles. That was to @Willow2017

I get your ire. I live on the edge of several nature reserves and i just walk out of the house and walk through them, no planning required!
BogRollBOGOF · 10/07/2020 01:32

I think I've walked and run every bloody public footpath within 4 miles.
To be fair, most were on my radar anyway Wink

I love runninv and walking. I have lovely countryside from 500m away. It says something when I'm done in with it!

skeptile · 10/07/2020 04:20

What are the fines for breaching lockdown restrictions where you all are? Ours are on the spot $1600. During the last lockdown, we were also subjected to the heaviest handed policing. With the highest number of people tested. And now we're the only ones back in lockdown...

DrearyWallAntler · 10/07/2020 06:31

Checking in

countrygirl99 · 10/07/2020 06:32

I went to my parents yesterday to show them the wedding photos. Their town still has "is your journey essential" signs up. In that well known hotspot the fens🤔
Dad is still proper poorly. I do wonder if a proper GP appointment at the beginning, with antibiotics started earlier, would have made a big difference.

wanderings · 10/07/2020 06:52

Looking through yesterday's Evening Standard, there was not a muzzle to be seen (and I leafed through twice to check), apart from Amber Heard with the scarf over her mouth; there was not even a Transport for London advert telling you to muzzle up. It also had the prominent headline "Hidden victims of lockdown abuse". Is this paper taking small steps to show lockdown for what it is, i.e. something causing much more damage than the virus?
