Was it Matt Hancock himself that phones you for Test and Trace?

SoMuchToBits · 21/01/2021 17:52

Haha, no the first caller was someone with an almost unintelligible accent (not sure where from), who eventually abandoned the call as we weren't getting anywhere and then a woman with a Welsh accent phoned back, but we still had problems with the connection...

Test and Trace seems to be working so well! I'm sure the Playmo version must be better than that! Grin

I look forward to a Playmo Test and Trace scene when you’re feeling better. Norman wouldn’t let anyone useless make the calls and wouldn’t stand for any dodgy phone connections I’m sure.

SoMuchToBits · 21/01/2021 18:00

I'm sure you're right! I'll look forward to some more scenes once I've stopped shivering/aching etc. But can't even think about doing anything right now.

Still the good thing is (as ds said) it's a great time to have Covid, as you can't do much else, so I'm not really missing anything. Except work...

Had a better night last night, and actually got some sleep! Feeling a bit better this morning, though still achy and a bit shivery, so taken some more paracetamol.

Has anyone got any funny stories to entertain me? I haven't got the energy to do much, but fed up with doing nothing! I'm naturally a bit of a fidget, but have had to slow right down...

Or if anyone has their own Playmobil, tell me all about the sets you have, I always love a Playmo discussion. Grin

Good Morning, SoMuch! I'm glad you had some sleep and hope the aches and shivers phase passes soon.

We don't have any Playmo any more - we had a crate 3'x2'x2' full, and a couple of extra ships that didn't fit in. But our DC is grown up and no likelihood of grandchildren for years (if ever), and we just didn't have the space to store it any more. So we took it to our local primary school, who were just thrilled to have it! My favourite set was always the bank robbers with their getaway car - this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PLAYMOBIL-3162-BANK-ROBBERS-GANGSTERS-GETAWAY-SPORTS-CAR/203252928647?hash=item2f52d19087:g:-McAAOSwls9gBw5n perhaps explaining my fondness for your Puddingheads!

SoMuchToBits · 22/01/2021 09:30

Ooh, yes! Ian Icecreamhead and Tom Triflehead have featured quite a bit in the Playmo pandemic. They are such shady characters! Grin

I'm sure we haven't seen the last of them yet either! (I've already planned my next scene, was going to do it this week on my days off until Covid struck!)

Our boys had loads of Playmo a few years ago - mainly pirates. We had a huge pile of people, though only three of them had names - Moustache (bet you can’t guess what he looked like); John; and John’s Dad. Amazing imaginations my boys had.... Grin Hmm

SoMuchToBits · 22/01/2021 09:53

We have some pirates too. They are led by Admiral Cuttlebone...

Which ships did you have AvengingGerbil ? Wondering if we have some of the same...

OP posts:
AvengingGerbil · 22/01/2021 12:40

We had a Viking longboat and the pirate ship no 5135. Many, many cutlasses! Playmo was great for my Aspergers dc - no imaginative play at all, but lots of building and sorting into different categories.

SoMuchToBits · 22/01/2021 13:10

Ah, we have the 4290 pirate ship! Although ds did do some imaginative play, most of his scenes were just that, a scene rather than any story to it, and he also loved sorting things.

Even recently when I was doing one of the Royal weddings, he spent ages sorting out the correct knights and police to use! Grin

Well, after yesterday's stressful Test and Trace phone call, this afternoon I have had a really useful phone call from my GP surgery!

They phoned to check on how I was getting on, and have offered me the use of a pulseoximeter (which a volunteer can deliver). I'm taking them up on this, as I've seen first hand how people can be walking around looking fine with really low sats with Covid. I feel ok, no breathlessness etc, but it would be good to check.

They've obviously taken a leaf out of the Playmo Health Service's book! Wink

Sounds good @SoMuchToBits. My Mum is having her vaccination this afternoon, I'll call her later & find out how it went.

SoMuchToBits · 22/01/2021 17:53

Oh that's good, Horsemad . My pulseoximeter has arrived already - what service! Smile

OP posts:
Horsemad · 23/01/2021 08:27

Very swift service! 🙂 How often are you taking readings?

SoMuchToBits · 23/01/2021 09:16

Morning! I'm taking them every few hours or so, but at the moment they are all fine - 97% this morning. It's just a known thing with Covid that you can get silent hypoxia (where you still feel ok but sats drop) so nice to be able to check.

I had another reasonable nights sleep again, and feel a bit better today, although don't want to jinx things! Smile Hopefully won't be too long until I'm feeling up to making scenes again.

Bloodybridget · 23/01/2021 16:06

SoMuch I had completely missed that you have Covid, I am sorry! Hope you recover well and quickly - glad you have the pulseoximeter so you can make sure you're getting enough oxygen. DP ordered one for us which arrived today.

SoMuchToBits · 23/01/2021 16:38

Ah, not to worry, Bridget, I'm feeling slightly better, but still not right. My oxygen saturation is fine though, so no problems there. Smile Hope your pulse oximeter proves useful!

CatkinToadflax · 23/01/2021 17:47

So pleased to hear you’re feeling a bit better SoMuch. Fingers crossed that this continues!

I can’t praise pulse oximeters highly enough. Mine is brilliant. I have severe asthma (been shielding since before the dawn of time, at least that’s what it feels like) and use mine to determine when I need to go to A&E for rebooting and when I can stay at home (not Covid, just everyday life!).

SoMuchToBits · 23/01/2021 18:02

Thanks, Catkin, yes it's just reassuring to have it, knowing that I can make a judgment of how well I am, not just by how I feel.

Not sure how the Playmo people would get on with them though they don't have any fingers Shock.

Bloodybridget · 23/01/2021 18:15

They need a special Playmoland type which goes on their whole hand!
