Bits I hope you feel better soon Flowers

petalpower · 19/01/2021 16:54

Oh no SoMuch, that’s not good. Hope your results come through soon and are also negative. Thank goodness your boiler has been fixed as I’m sure you’d struggle to get a heating engineer in with a positive result. Is DS ok?

SoMuchToBits · 19/01/2021 17:05

Yes, ds is fine, no symptoms or anything. He kindly drove me to the testing centre, but neither of us are going anywhere else until I get the result.

As I'd had two negative lateral flow tests I thought it was probably fairly safe to let the heating engineer in, although I stayed well away from him. But thought I'd better get a PCR test too to be on the safe side. I think it's more likely I have some other winter virus, but best to check, as one of my colleagues recently tested positive with the PCR test, despite having negative lateral flow tests.

Fingers crossed for you SoMuch - even if it isn't covid, it's still horrid to feel generally manky.

SoMuchToBits · 19/01/2021 18:19

I feel better having had some paracetamol! Hope whatever it is doesn't linger too long...

Hope you feel better soon @SoMuchToBits. DS1 had similar in Dec and we were convinced he had probably caught Covid but luckily it was a negative test and just an ordinary lurgy! 😆

petalpower · 19/01/2021 19:18

Fingers crossed 🤞

NoGoodPunsLeft · 20/01/2021 06:18

Oh no, hope you feel better soon @SoMuchToBits Thanks

SoMuchToBits · 20/01/2021 07:11

Thank you all. Went to bed last night and woke up at 01.45 with a raging sore throat, Took paracetamol and went back to sleep. Woke again at 05.30 covered in sweat, so think I had a bit of a fever. Struggled to get back to sleep again, so came downstairs, put on the heating (hooray!) and am now having a Brew. Still have the sore throat, feeling achy etc. Don't think I will be doing much today...

Sounds horrible whatever it is. Hope you start to feel better soon. Xx

CatkinToadflax · 20/01/2021 11:12

Flowers Cake Brew Hope you’re feeling better very soon x

Bloodybridget · 20/01/2021 17:10

Much sympathy, SoMuch, and I hope you get better very soon.

SoMuchToBits · 20/01/2021 17:13

Thank you. I've been taking paracetamol regularly, otherwise I can't stop shivering (even with central heating!). Have done pretty much nothing today except sit on the sofa. No result from the test yet.

SoMuchToBits · 20/01/2021 20:07

Hello everyone, test results show I have Covid-19. I don't think I'll be doing any new scenes for a while. Just staying at home on the sofa...

Oh no, hopefully you're back on your feet soon.

Keep posting here if you get bored, we'll try to entertain you like you have us ☺️

petalpower · 20/01/2021 20:24

Oh no, really sorry to hear this SoMuch but no great surprise given your work. Is DS still ok? Is there anything you need?

SoMuchToBits · 20/01/2021 20:27

Thank you, ds still fine. We are fairly well stocked up petalpower, but our other local friend saw this thread and emailed me offering to get shopping if we need it, so think we will be ok! Smile

Any entertainment gratefully received! I'm too unwell to want to do much, but also bored...

Just shout if we can help. Presume our Skype tomorrow is off? Now have elderly relative moved in (as of yesterday) so a bit tricky here. Sorry for derailing thread with boring info for others!!

SoMuchToBits · 20/01/2021 20:44

I will probably give the Skype a miss if you don't mind, as feeling very tired. Sorry to hear about your relative, but guess it will be safest for her. x

How are you today SoMuch?

SoMuchToBits · 21/01/2021 12:17

Not too bad petal but very tired, as haven't slept that well. Took some paracetamol last night, which made me comfortable, but then started feeling hot. I was tossing and turning a fair bit, then gave up about 5am when I took more paracetamol.

I'm still shivery and achy, although my chest feels less tight, and throat not so sore. Also feel a bit dizzy when I get up.

Friend popped round with supplies this morning, as I'd asked for a couple of things. I suddenly fancied soup. Have now had some soup, which has made me feel a bit better Smile.

Still could be worse, at least I haven't been hallucinating like that poor Playmo chap who was seeing fairies etc! Grin

Trying to keep cheerful, and will aim for a snooze on the sofa this afternoon...

Just had Test and Trace on the phone. An extremely long call where the connection kept going. First they ask you about all your symptoms, then when they have established that you are actually ill, they keep you talking for so long that your voice goes... Confused
