Congratulations on getting your jab SoMuch!

SoMuchToBits · 13/01/2021 17:18

Thank you! I expect lots of people in Playmoland have already been vaccinated. Smile

Didn't get round to doing any scenes today, as the heavy rain made me reluctant to venture down the garden to the summer house! But maybe at the weekend...

My arm is sore from yesterday's jab, but fortunately no other side effects (and I haven't turned into a Sylvanian yet!) Wink

I've just had my first ever flu jab & now stressing in case I have unknowingly got Covid & am poorly...
Totally crazy thinking - I wasn't worried I may have Covid half an hour ago! 🤨

Horsemad · 14/01/2021 16:39

Meant to say, hope your arm settles down @SoMuchToBits.

SoMuchToBits · 14/01/2021 16:54

Probably unlikely you have Covid Horsemad, but if you get any symptoms then best to get a test.

When I had my flu jab I also had a sore arm, but it settled down in a few days, so think it should this time too. Smile I didn't get any other side effects with the flu jab either.

Thanks @SoMuchToBits, my mind does work overtime occasionally! 🙂

SoMuchToBits · 14/01/2021 21:47

By the way, I hope that the people who have been following my Playmo posts over the years realise that Eastgate Primary School now is a whole school and not just a school gym. I may have purchased a second hand school from eBay

Had to buy spare parts to complete the set, but hooray, the clock can now tell the time etc....

Sorry there won't be any scenes today. It has snowed, and I can't be bothered to trudge down the garden in the snow to retrieve the Playmo from the summer house.

Also, I don't want to open the back door more than necessary, as our boiler has decided to break down, and the house is cold enough already!

Horsemad · 16/01/2021 12:38

😲 hope your boiler is fixed soon @SoMuchToBits

SoMuchToBits · 16/01/2021 12:48

Thanks @Horsemad ! We have phoned the heating engineers and left a message, but they haven't got back to us yet. In the meantime a kind neighbour has lent us a couple of electric heaters.

We don't have any hot water though (apart from our shower, which fortunately is electric!).

I bet if this was Playmoland, Patrick the plumber would have been out and fixed it already! Wink

Haha, he would! 🤣
petalpower · 16/01/2021 14:08

Oh no - the worst possible weather for your boiler to break down. I thought you’d had problems with your boiler a while ago SoMuch? Hope the heating engineers get back to you soon.

SoMuchToBits · 16/01/2021 14:56

Yes, we had problems back in May/June. Thought it was all fixed, then in early December it showed a fault code again, but we were able to restart it straight away. This time we can't restart it, have tried switching off and on again, topping up the pressure etc, but nothing works!

At the moment I'm wearing an extra pair of socks and my fleece jacket until the temperature increases a bit with the electric heaters. We've planned an oven baked dinner tonight, so we can get the kitchen a bit warmer...

So pleased I’ve found this thread again - it dropped off my “I’m on” list months ago and I didn’t know it was still going! I feel like I’ve just relived Christmas and New Year! Love Norman’s light-up Christmas tree right next to his portaloo! Grin

Thank you for the wonderful ongoing wit and cheer during such a miserable period. And I hope your heating gets fixed pronto!

SoMuchToBits · 16/01/2021 15:50

Ah thank you! Smile

I've now managed to take my coat off! Still no word from heating engineers though... Where's Patrick the plumber when you need him?

Bloodybridget · 16/01/2021 18:21

Oh SoMuch what bad luck, bloody boilers! I hope you can get some handy person in tonight.

SoMuchToBits · 16/01/2021 19:10

No reply so far from heating engineers. We'll try again tomorrow, and if still no reply we'll try to find another one who can actually come and fix it!

OP posts:
SoMuchToBits · 17/01/2021 15:08

Sorry, I had hoped to set up a scene today, now the snow has gone, but ended up getting behind with jobs, and now there isn't enough light left. I'm working tomorrow, but will hope to do something next week. Smile

Bits I think you enough on your plate atm. Grin

SoMuchToBits · 17/01/2021 17:37

Still no reply from heating engineers though. Ds will ring them again tomorrow.

Heating engineers came yesterday and looked at the boiler and found the problem, but the part they needed wasn't in, so they came back and fixed it today.

Had hoped to do a scene today, but am now not feeling very well. I was at work yesterday, and noticed during the morning that I was starting to cough a lot. I let my boss know and she suggested I did another lateral flow Covid test (the one I did the day before was negative). This one was negative too, so I stayed at work, but by about 5 pm was feeling achy, but not sure whether that was just due to being so busy.

This morning woke up still feeling achy and shivery. Did another lateral flow test, still negative, but as I'd been coughing I booked a PCR test, which I had done this afternoon. Now waiting for result.

So either I have Covid or some other pesky virus! Anyway, have taken some paracetamol and am chilling on the sofa...
