Popping in before it fills up.
Thanks for new thread Dowser.
I would have hated driving in that too, it's just too scary when you can hardly see and get swamped by lorries passing.

Am couch potato extraordinaire today and hating myself for it. Need to get motivated. Have done washing but not a lot more.

Love the cheesy wotsit stuff am saving them for future use😄

Right finish my coffee and get moving again. Bleurgh housework!

@littlebelina
Already using playgrounds here
Kids just do a maypole dance around the locked up swings

@thegreatwave
I feel for you.
Remember he said have a walk by the transporter, it’s lovely there
Is it fucking shite
Went along one damp Sunday in early lockdown..place is a joke ..it’s a dump, a fly tippers paradise

Why would you want to go there ?when there’s some nice parks around middlesbrough?
I thought Stewart’s Park was open and Albert Park on limited hours..who the f..wants to go to a fucking park at 7 am? Or a mad dash before lunch when you’ve got all day to fill
Obviously doesn’t live in the real world.

There's also more Scottish dementoring as Queen Nic is apparently considering separate quarantine arrangements, which means more worry and uncertainty especially as it will mean the dcs can't go on their holiday with their dad.

DominaShantotto · 28/06/2020 14:56

We can't just unlock playgrounds - they've chained up swings and removed seats and things to make sure.

Dowser · 28/06/2020 14:58

Just rand dd, they’re on their way to Sutton bank..blowing a hooley again out there.

Still sil is a good driver..like the day he drove me through a storm in Florida when it was raining stair rods, the traffic lights were all out, I’ve never seen flooding like it , a flat pancake cloud sat on the whole of Orlando and there was just circles of lightning going through it.
Got to the villa, by the time we got in we were wet to our underclothes.

Don’t know what it is with me and travelling.
Whenever you go anywhere, double check that anyone by the name of Dowser isn’t on board..I’ll make sure I book in that name

There was that time on the hovercraft.
The time on the ferry.
We were in London for the 7/7 bombings
Plane struck by lightning.
Another trip when we came home through a storm on a plane and we were thrown around like a leaf
I totalled my car in one of those things that come up through the road

Honestly the list is endless...no wonder I have ptsd

Queen Nicola has now gone insane.

DominaShantotto · 28/06/2020 15:07

Dear God the salivating over the possibility of Leicester getting locked down and gleeful "oooh they'll need to get the army in" and slightly racist undertones of it all over the internet and not on any one specific site is unsavoury.

PickAChew · 28/06/2020 15:08

DH bought our house while I was walking the boys around Albert Park. Catching pokemon, of course.

The only thing that would have persuaded me to get to the transporter bridge would have been this, had it been able to go ahead teesside500group.co.uk/2019-running-day

No big surprise there then. She can't keep blaming deaths cos there are none havent been for 3 days. She will have to do something to keep reminding people "she cares".

I noticed that at the one by the band stand. The tape was long gone off the outdoor gym and the climbing stuff was accessible, but barriers around the roundabout and zip wire and swings gone. Bastards.

I hate to be the one to invoke Godwin’s Law... but are good men just following orders when they remove the seats from kid’s toys? 😔
Sallycinnamum · 28/06/2020 15:22

I'm feeling very down today.

Had a lovely catch up bbq with friends yesterday despite the bloody chilly wind but made the mistake of going on the Corona board last night half cut and it's all doom and gloom as usual. Winter is going to be terrible, xmas is cancelled at etc.

Even though my job is safe at the moment if we have another lockdown it will be fucked. The thought of redundancy is worrying but it's made worse because the rumour mongering is rife as most of my colleagues and I have got fuck all else to think about!

I was there when they did all that. It was after they reopened the cafe and toilets etc. Just wanted to remind everyone not to have too much fun I guess.

Grin

My DC have taken to saying, whenever we discuss any behaviour that might involve opening the front door, "but what about the nans?!" eg "I really want to go and see if Lush is open but what about the nans? I don't want to kill anyone's nan"

For any lurking non ADs, they actually aren't seeing their extremely vulnerable own nan at the moment, so we need a bit of black humour! I'm sorry Giant Doctor.

Today I am mostly being irritated by reading all the fucking time "it doesn't mean the virus has gone away, it just means there is more room in ICU for you".

As someone who wouldn't be worthy of ICU anyway Wink, I have been to the shop today. I was very careful though (you can all mock, but you know, meant to be shielding...Grin) and wore a mask and gloves. In fact DH wrapped me all up in a giant scarf and got my gloves ready as though I was a toddler Smile I didn't wear a mask on the way, I only put it on when I got to the shop and then had a stampy foot moment when I realised it would smudge my Pretty Lipstick

I bought a newspaper and some beautiful flowers (I know you're all on the edge of your seats wondering what I bought Grin) and it was glorious. I have the flowers on my bedroom windowsill and I keep looking at them.

Even as someone who would probably wear a hazmat suit to the shops if I could get one Wink I still also share everyone's rage and bemusement about the playgrounds. I have a theory that Boris Johnson is, in fact, the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

It saddens me that the government just seem to have so little regard for the welfare of DC. You would like to think that in a decent society, making DC happy as well as safe would be top of the fucking list. It's like the reverse of "women and children first". Children last and just above them, women who are carrying the brunt of the current situation, doing the child caring and losing their jobs. At the very top of the priority list we have men (wealthy, white, middle age and older naturally) who are quite happy to unashamedly fuck over women and children for their own wants.

What kind of fuckwit prioritises their own wants over children's needs?

KaronAVyrus · 28/06/2020 15:27

I really don’t think we’ll have another lockdown. We’ll be like France and Ireland - we can’t afford it either.

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 15:32

I now have a Scottish friend basically turning on me as an English person. All "close the borders and keep the filthy English out".

Pointed out they have a 10th of the population and a lot more space comparatively and got a nice abusive mouthful about us not being wanted and we should stay the fuck out of their country.

I'm so sad.

rookiemere · 28/06/2020 15:37

I've just persuaded DH to cancel our holiday to Majorca from Edinburgh in August. Flights will be moved yet again - thank you EasyJet for your free change policy- and I've just got in touch with the villa owner to see if we can book for next year.

Our friends that we were hoping would come were nervous about booking flights and then being caught out by track and trace and I was nervous about quarantine as DS due to go back to school 12 days after we got back. Also as infection numbers will inevitably go up, was worried it might be cancelled at last minute and we'd get nothing back from insurance.

Plus my body is far from beach ready Wink.

I feel really relieved actually that we aren't at the mercy of all these external factors any more. The villa owner seems really nice so o hope he will be able to get it rebooked before August.

Plus when the numbers go up and she stops pupils receiving an education, I don't want to feel in any way responsible for that. But mostly I'm glad we won't lose money

😂😂😂 Giant doctor is watching and judging you.

Whilst also tallying up to make sure there is room for you in the ICU

Willitneverend · 28/06/2020 15:41

Bleurgh. I hate the "close the border" brigade.

Some of the SNP folk seem mortally offended that initial reporting of the Glasgow stabbing incident reported 3 people as being dead and this is the fault of the BBC. We're not allowed any death apart from coronavirus now.

Teateaandmoretea · 28/06/2020 15:41

I think the Leicester thing is propaganda. If they were going to do it then it should have been done earlier.

I’ve just noticed on Twitter that the additional sadly deaths for last Monday were -6. So now some people who sadly died are coming back to life it seems. What a load of bollocks 🤷🏻‍♀️

NothingIsWrong · 28/06/2020 15:44

@Teateaandmoretea they sometimes take a chunk out when they tally up as the deaths occasionally get double counted. Sometimes this is enough to send the PHE figure negative.

It's a horrible feeling to think that my Scottish friend (certainly one, maybe more?) now wouldn't want me to visit.

Teateaandmoretea · 28/06/2020 15:44

Apparently it’s due to removing double counting of hospital deaths. Hmmm yeah as I’ve said before these figures are bollocks

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 28/06/2020 15:44

My body is Faroe Isles beach-ready.

My dad is hoping to cross the border into Nicola’s sacred land. He’ll switch to Doric when questioned by the newly appointed border control and offer them butteries as an under the table bribe.

bookworm14 · 28/06/2020 15:46

Checking in. They had better open the playgrounds. DD is now an iPad addict because there’s so little else to bloody do.
