@Jourdain11 ugh I hate the "you're not leaving until you have a wee" especially when it's delivered in a teacherish voice. I don't know what your mobility is like so forgive me if you can't, but if you can go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet and turn the taps on would it help? Alternatively, leave the hospital and go somewhere without a toilet - you will need it immediately
Sending positive thoughts to you!
Re the face masks, I'm so sorry the thread is too fast for me to get the name of who mentioned it, but please don't worry. When Im not shielding I have to use public transport (have a disability bus pass due to epilepsy) and I am the person that would ideally like everyone to wear a mask (and possibly a full hazmat suit
but I would never ever judge someone who wasn't wearing one as I know people have very good reasons.
Also I dislike this "my mask protects you, your mask protects me" line which is being pushed. Yes, I would like everyone to ideally wear hazmat suits and masks to protect me from very sad possibly instantaneous death
but lots of people have lots of good reasons not to wear one and why do my reasons for that trump their reasons not to wear one? It's that "protect the vulnerable" schlok well I don't expect people to have a shit life to make mine less shit - also there is such a small number of us who are extremely vulnerable that it's not a reasonable adjustment (even if I say it myself!) to make so many people including children have to accommodate us at great expense to themselves.
I have DC myself and I wouldn't expect or want that kind of sacrificial behaviour from them, so I don't want it from others.
PS I think the they're not wearing a mask is going to be the new blue badge threads of MN. Definitely. Shall we take bets on content? I have 2-1 (I don't actually know how betting works
)on I'm 279 days pregnant and someone (probably an "old woman") refused to wear a mask when they were standing 10 metres away from me I "confronted" her and "demanded" she wear a mask and then the whole queue clapped...
