Copied and pasted before I got cut up on the Arc De Triumph...

It's not the pee that worries me. There's a reason why I live in a lush green county Grin

Anyone been to Decathlon? I won't over the weekend. I notice reference to Giltbrook upthread... When panic buying DS2's birthday presents a month early in mid-March I overlooked a scooter upgrade.

Go Outdoors was pretty normal.

I suspect perspex screens will largely remain. Some like Aldi's were clearly thrown up in a hurry. Some like Morrisons look more robust. Some places might find them more intrusive than others and be more keen to take them down.

Found you! BBC has a new joy for us on how to socialise Hmm

When we laugh and raise our voices, does that increase risk?
Some bad news for loud talkers: it likely does.

"There have been studies looking at the aerosol transmission for louder speakers," Dr Karan says.

Right so we all need to whisper now.

Probably just as well I can't get near my Dad - as you now have to shout.

Nice thread title Grin.

Whoop! New thread :-)

Isn’t aubergine internet code for willies?

BogRollBOGOF · 20/06/2020 11:38

I wish I'd had a spare mask avaliable at DH's last Christmas party... I was sitting next to a very spittley talker Envy and it was a pack 'em in type venue.
I'm normally pretty laissez-faire about my immune system getting on with it, but my grim o'meter was being pushed.

Meantime the Tines saying from July pubs are opening. Cafés, gyms and spas can also open from July 4 and 2m rule being dropped (to 1 I think)

OhFuckOffWithTheBubbleBollocks · 20/06/2020 11:39

@Jourdain11 ugh I hate the "you're not leaving until you have a wee" especially when it's delivered in a teacherish voice. I don't know what your mobility is like so forgive me if you can't, but if you can go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet and turn the taps on would it help? Alternatively, leave the hospital and go somewhere without a toilet - you will need it immediately WinkSending positive thoughts to you!

Re the face masks, I'm so sorry the thread is too fast for me to get the name of who mentioned it, but please don't worry. When Im not shielding I have to use public transport (have a disability bus pass due to epilepsy) and I am the person that would ideally like everyone to wear a mask (and possibly a full hazmat suit Grinbut I would never ever judge someone who wasn't wearing one as I know people have very good reasons.

Also I dislike this "my mask protects you, your mask protects me" line which is being pushed. Yes, I would like everyone to ideally wear hazmat suits and masks to protect me from very sad possibly instantaneous death Winkbut lots of people have lots of good reasons not to wear one and why do my reasons for that trump their reasons not to wear one? It's that "protect the vulnerable" schlok well I don't expect people to have a shit life to make mine less shit - also there is such a small number of us who are extremely vulnerable that it's not a reasonable adjustment (even if I say it myself!) to make so many people including children have to accommodate us at great expense to themselves.

I have DC myself and I wouldn't expect or want that kind of sacrificial behaviour from them, so I don't want it from others.

PS I think the they're not wearing a mask is going to be the new blue badge threads of MN. Definitely. Shall we take bets on content? I have 2-1 (I don't actually know how betting works Grin)on I'm 279 days pregnant and someone (probably an "old woman") refused to wear a mask when they were standing 10 metres away from me I "confronted" her and "demanded" she wear a mask and then the whole queue clapped...

Orangeblossom78 · 20/06/2020 11:40

I am quite happy to to have to be hugging people I don't want to, nor that awful air kissing thing some of DH's extended family seem partial too. But if a relief that

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 20/06/2020 11:40

I believe the emoji is InsaneInTheViralMembrane .

It's quite a thread title.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 20/06/2020 11:41

The problem with gyms opening is that my monthly membership will resume but because I’m shackled you my children for all eternity I won’t be able to use it.

Orangeblossom78 · 20/06/2020 11:43

I think you can ask to keep it on hold Insane, perhaps. Mine is on hold now and still thinking what to do. Will see how it works first. I might use it for swimming.

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 20/06/2020 11:43

It is an interesting thread title - I'm new to the discussion so not quite sure what it's all about??!

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 20/06/2020 11:46

My gym is more than 20 miles away anyway so I’d probably murder people on the A9 were I to drive in.

Just dropping in. Sunny today so a bit of gardening and then later another human bean is coming to our house to do a quote.

We knew that we had to do something with the conservatory at some point, but having been using it to work in from home I have realised not only how dreadfully hot it gets (indoor garden parasol) but that you can see sunlight through the frame. So new frame and new fancy roof.

NothingIsWrong · 20/06/2020 11:47

🍆 🍆🍆🍆

I do love an aubergine...

Orangeblossom78 · 20/06/2020 11:47

I don't understand why BBC is going on like that when pubs etc are opening.

Orangeblossom78 · 20/06/2020 11:47

MN are taking down that bullying against mental health thread, good

BarkandCheese · 20/06/2020 11:51

I believe 🍆 and 🍑 are often used to suggest non culinary adult activities.

HesterShaw1 · 20/06/2020 11:53

Oh I was wondering why the boyf kept sending me vegetable emojis

bookworm14 · 20/06/2020 11:55

You’ve just been buying vegetarian cookbooks? 😁
