Urgh not down 181. Down from 181, which was last Saturday’s figure.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 20/06/2020 15:08

@Whistlingtrees hello.

As to to the rest - I think it a mix of real fear and point scoring.

I thought vCJD might still be a problem though
www.newscientist.com/article/2118418-many-more-people-could-still-die-from-mad-cow-disease-in-the-uk/ This talks about a second wave being possible.

Which is a bit depressing though I'd still be very wary about Neil Ferguson figures for anything.

@Jourdain11 really hope your home or on your way there.

Littlebelina · 20/06/2020 15:15

I did turn down the chance to buy a live crab today as wasn't sure I could face killing it (but largely as I'm the only one who will eat them in my house so wasn't sure when I'd be able to have it)

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 20/06/2020 15:18

I like crab we only have it when on holiday.

I don't think I'd be able to kill one either.

HesterShaw1 · 20/06/2020 15:20

Crabs are a pain in the arse to deal with.

HesterShaw1 · 20/06/2020 15:21

Just realised there are 2 more pages to catch up!

I've been to The Bullring with dd and It was glorious, apart from the hour and a half we were all evacuated because of a fire. She had a great time. No queues in Primark, which we went to first, and it felt so good to be out and about.

I can confirm that other than when queuing to get into Selfridges, there was no social distancing whatsoever that I could see. Other than one poor woman who kept sticking out her shopping bags and barking TWO METRES at everyone. I fear she was fighting a bit of a losing battle.

Orangeblossom78 · 20/06/2020 15:47

This sounds fab- like an ice cream van pub! Smile

Orangeblossom78 · 20/06/2020 15:48

Not much (if any) distancing that I could see in Bath either. It is hot and humid and a bit rainy, not very pleasant really. Couple of masks but not much

ButterMeCrumpets · 20/06/2020 15:51

Only just found the new thread as the old one had filled up in between visiting some relatives, rebooking a cancelled holiday and getting a KFC drive through. All in all a good day Grin

PickAChew · 20/06/2020 16:05

I was a skint student during the BSE crisis. Did not turn my nose up at 50p packs of stewing steak or mince!

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 20/06/2020 16:06

Went out earlier and all the village kids are playing out - even the daughter of the PTA person - which made me very happy.

My mum said she’d worried about BSE because finances had dictated she bought cheap cuts - but then she said at that price it was probably horse, not beef anyway! 😁

I can’t stand chicken - flying vermin. Drowning in eggs around these parts.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 20/06/2020 16:07

Just seen this on a news article on Facebook about children going back to school.
"it’s disgusting how ppl are behaving!Let them dump there kids back into school they are the ones that will suffer for it if when the second wave hits! We as a family have done what we can,I’m not doing what others want just because it really does suit them! It’s not safe and until it is my kids can stay off!!Well said"

Soooooo they are ok with the children of key workers to "suffer for it" in order for them to be able to access food and healthcare? I'm so so tempted to comment with that.....

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 20/06/2020 16:12

I lost my shit on the Scottish us for them group earlier. A woman chirped up with the usual it’s our responsibility as parents and we should love hanging out and making memories. Clicked through to her profile - she’s a teacher (so presumably getting paid and accruing pension) and not having to teach higher maths.

It made me VERY cross. I’d reluctantly teach mine - I have zero patience and only know STEM, but I’m not getting a fat cheque every month - nor do I have a husband with HIS pay cheque.

Plus... I’ve been quite candid about the realities of us all home 24/7.

SpnBaby1967 · 20/06/2020 16:28

I've spent the afternoon clearing all the junk out of my bedroom as we're getting new furniture next week. 5 FUCKING BIN BAGS full!! Jesus christ, I'm ashamed of my slovenly ways..I found paperwork dating back a decade Blush

I remember mum stopped us eating beef, and I was so relieved as her beef roast was like chewing on a slipper Grin

ExpletiveDelighted · 20/06/2020 16:28

I've just got upset about the way someone is being treated on AIBU, it's relentless.

The thread about shielding?
Shodan · 20/06/2020 16:46

Found you!

I appear to have missed a lot over the last few pages, but I think I've grasped the main points:-

We're all playing with aubergines, HesterShaw1 is to be kept at a safe social distance because of crabs, and we're all on ADs now.

Zat right?

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 20/06/2020 16:49

Are you... Me? Grin I was also half of the excuse to avoid eating my poor mum's horrifically overcooked beef. No meat should need to be chewed that many times.

I'm not even venturing onto threads that look like there's a chance of dementoring. Not worth it.

Gonna stick around here with you guys. Smile

glotterbug · 20/06/2020 16:50

Checking in, love an aubergine curry, spicy!

Lickyicelollies · 20/06/2020 16:54

Found you!

I'm just back from my murderous trip to England hugging loved ones and shopping. 'Twas wonderful.

ExpletiveDelighted · 20/06/2020 17:03

*I've just got upset about the way someone is being treated on AIBU, it's relentless.

The thread about shielding?*

Yes, I shouldn't go into AIBU.
