This'll be thread number 13, I think.

Let's hope it's a lucky one Grin

People could also be allowed to meet another household indoors for the first time since the lockdown was imposed across the UK on 23 March

this is what we're hoping for. I haven't seen my elderly parents since chrismtas as they live very rurally 80 miles away and a combination of snow and ice in february then lockdown has meant we haven't seen them. Given the distance, we haven't been able to use the "see one other household in the garden" legislation as the kids weren't prepared to pee in the garden...

SockYarn · 18/06/2020 08:54

Oh and if we move into Phase 2, my cleaner has said she'll be coming back.

I will be so happy to see her that it'll take all my self-control to not give her a massive hug.

Drivingdownthe101 · 18/06/2020 08:54

Fingers crossed for you SockYarn!

NothingIsWrong · 18/06/2020 08:55

David Paton does have excellent statistics and graphs, but he's very pro life so every now and again you get a bit in his feed relating to saving innocent foetus lives...

At the moment I can cope with it because I like his other work, but I don't think he would be someone I would follow normally.

SockYarn · 18/06/2020 08:57

the carnage that is the arc de triomphe in Paris.

We were in Paris last summer and there's an underpass which you use to cross under the road and up into the centre of the roundabout. Carnage is the right world - buses, cars, lorries all flying round, honking horns and scooters weaving between them. Rome is equally traffic-crazy.

Willow2017 · 18/06/2020 08:58

Morning all i am still amive and kicking😄 Thanks for the support it means a lot.

Dowser you must be a mind reader! Yesterday i ordered a set of Bach flowers Larch, Mimulus and White Chestnut and some rescue remedy pastiles. Havent used them in ages. Fingers crossed they work on my stubborn brain that obviously hates me😄 I cant use melatonin unfortunately as i have an auto-immune thing or I would have. I got some then read up the detailed info. Pah! I have been taking valerian but it doesnt seem to fo a damm thing for me. (My god does that stink!)

Off for blood test this morning for said 'thing' and to garage and post office then working later till late pm.

Dare I look at the chicken thread?🤔🤔 I have enough crapolla on my plate just now do i need disease ridden chickens too?🤣

Hope you had a good night Jourdain and get home today.
Hope everyone else is over thier bumps in the road too and have a good day. "Be careful out there" said in my best NY cop accent (there may be chickens lurking round every corner)

Nihiloxica · 18/06/2020 08:58

Good morning.

Everyone here is sleeping way more than we would if we were allowed to live our lives as we chose.

It's weird.

PickAChew · 18/06/2020 09:03

Good morning.

Pleased to report a small queue outside Gregg's, already. As long as the lunchtime rush doesn't cause traffic jams, it's nice to see, even though they don't sell the right sandwiches, at the moment.

Shodan · 18/06/2020 09:07

Morning all.

Fingers crossed for you @SockYarn

More Flowers for you @Jourdain11. What a sucky time you're having.

We're going for a totally illegal coffee with my sister this morning (if she's remembered Grin). DS2 will no doubt play Roblox adjacent to his cousins with very little conversation, but at least it's some company for him. He hasn't seen any friends- apparently both of his best friends aren't allowed to meet up yet, so he's seen no-one his own age since March, other than his cousins once and my friend's daughter once or twice. So he's looking forward to it.

Oh bugger Jourdain my screen didnt show all the new posts after Bamboozled's.
Sorry to hear you had a crap night.
Must be hard especially with the kids. Keeping everything crossed you get home again pdq.

CarrotPuff · 18/06/2020 09:13

Someone on weight loss thread asked how you wash your soft fruit, like blueberries. I couldn't work out what was that all about. Then someone suggested "oh just squirt some fairy on them" 🤦🏻‍♀️

BarkandCheese · 18/06/2020 09:19

Jourdain11 I’m so sorry things aren’t good at the moment Flowers.

Jourdain11 · 18/06/2020 09:20

Oh, that has reminded me of the people doing their shopping in full hazmat suits, isolating their shopping for 48 hours and wiping everything down with bleach. Do you think they are still doing it? The evidence for surface transmission is very low.

I asked my nurse if it was something that medically vulnerable people needed to do and she said.... no.

Drivingdownthe101 · 18/06/2020 09:22

@Nihiloxica

Good morning.

It's weird.

Sadly that hasn’t been the case here, up until last week my toddler was still getting up at 5am and only having a half hour nap. However since his sisters went back to school he’s starting napping for 2 hours, and this morning he got up at 7.30am! Means we were late for school as he’s usually our resident alarm clock Grin
Jourdain11 · 18/06/2020 09:25

Thank you - I'll be okay! I'm not feeling so bad this morning, just a bit sleep-deprived. I just want them to come and tell me what the deal is!

Willow2017 good luck with the blood tests, I hope they don't suck too much from you!

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 09:32

Ah here is a film for a poster mentioned previously- a special time for everyone else to stay home so the more vulnerable people can go out as the other people are scary

(I will not show to DH as he has the same condition and meds and he is at his work today)

www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-53083614/coronavirus-we-need-a-designated-shielding-hour

there us a petition too!

Orangeblossom78 · 18/06/2020 09:33

I'll share it their special area for them to see

RobinHobb · 18/06/2020 09:37

@Jourdain11
Have been lurking and reading your posts
Hope you're better soon.....!

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 18/06/2020 09:47

jourdain I’m sorry you had a rough night and I hope you can get some answers today.

dowser thank you! Reading material for today.

BogRollBOGOF · 18/06/2020 09:52

@Nihiloxica

Good morning.

Everyone here is sleeping way more than we would if we were allowed to live our lives as we chose.

It's weird.

Same here. I used to happily go to parkrun and junior parkrun as I was up and about anyway so may as well, and now I'm struggling to wake before 9. I know I'm drifting up to bed later not helped by our panic purchase of a TV for our room, (bog roll was for amateurs Grin ) which DH now patronises, eschewing the TV downstairs, but I suspect that the real issue is that I'm dreaming more and frankly it's more interesting embracing sleep and the weirdness of dreams than facing another groundhog day. My 9yo also commented of his own accord that it was better to be dreaming than awake.

Jourdain, I hope you have a better day and some rest Flowers

Dowser · 18/06/2020 09:57

Jourdain..let’s hope all that vomiting just upset a minor blood vessel . Our bodies have an amazing capacity to heal themselves, so hopefully it’s repaired itself this morning.

Talking about sanitising your shopping. My friend in Dorset has been doing this. She also told me over 400 people died one day, and over 300 the day before
I did a search and found for the whole county only 147 deaths over the whole period. I asked her for her link and havent heard from her since.
That was two weeks or more ago.

I still keep thinking of the joyful moment the two brown chickens came racing towards me having not seen me since last November.
Can’t believe their little pea brains would remember.
They were so excited, I’m just thankful that we still had some food for them.

Willow..Pts a horse. That is so sad. It’s why I would find pet owning very difficult again.

As I drove to the caravan, less than half a mile from it was a dead baby deer in the undergrowth at the side of the road.
I so wish I could’ve woken up there this morning. I think we will have another trip at the weekend.

Top tip: it's actually easier to just squirt the Fairy straight into your mouth before eating the fruit.

Your saliva and the chewing mechanism creates a good lather for maximum SAFETY.

dkl55 · 18/06/2020 10:06

@Dowser your posts always make me smile Smile

I thought this is what all the cool kids were doing.

Dowser · 18/06/2020 10:09

Viral membrane
Yes, I need to do a lot more reading around dmso
I rubbed it in my aching muscles and I think it did help. I put a capful in about 2 oz of distilled water. It smells awful and feels like Epsom salts mixed with water ( a cheap way to get that expensive magnesium oil in h and b)
However the smell quickly wore off and it sinks in to your skin so it doesn’t feel oily for long.

I bought my first Bach flower kit about 15 or more years ago and it’s still going strong if stored properly . It was the 38 remedies plus two rescue remedies for £100
I see it is now £150
www.ainsworths.com/kit-bach/
It works out quite expensive if you buy them separately.
I did the course in 1981 at mt vernon, dr Bach’s old home.
