This'll be thread number 13, I think.

Let's hope it's a lucky one Grin

Driving, we’ve had no rain here for once..it’s been glorious
One of the chickens from last year came Up to our to caravan
I still had some food from last year so chucked into the grass for it
Then the two brown ones came racing up as well, clucking as if they remembered me and were pleased to see me
( Sadly two died last year. Non covid related)
Felt like old friends had come to say hello
I want to go lie in my bed tonight, but must drive home..boo hoo

Willitneverend · 17/06/2020 20:13

@Orangeblossom78 Oh yes, we've had the union dementing up here too. The EIS have decided they know better than WHO over social distancing. The union people I know were all going wildly mental when English schools reopened and practically salivating over the DEATH.

I had genuinely thought that all this chat would calm down closer to the time when the Scottish schools reopened but it hasn't. SNP and unions continuing to dement frantically, with it all being orchestrated from the top.

I genuinely had thought at the start of the pandemic that the most obvious thing to do was, if we had to shut down, to keep the heid and pragmatically open back up as soon as we can, as lockdown has negative consequences (which were mentioned at the flattening-of-the-curve bit). But the whole zealotry around it has been dreadful.

Jourdain hope all goes OK and you don't need admitted Flowers

zoom meeting with the school what fresh hell is this

Evening merry murderers!

Well, I've probably murdered half of my town which is terrible famous for roundabouts & concrete cows, as I have had not 1, but 3 work men in my house in the last 2 days.

Firstly had the man from the boiler company come to service my boiler yesterday to confirm that my policy with them could activate. Then I had a man come to clean my oven, totally non essential but I'm not bloody cleaning it and he's done a fab job. Then we noticed my newly serviced boiler was leaking so had a workman back out AND he has to come back tomorrow as well.

Amusingly the latest workman wore his face mask for all of 0.6 seconds in my house and yet somehow myself, my husband and my children managed to resist the urge to rub our bodies up against him and give him a lick Grin

I made the mistake of reading the BBC coverage today, good god they manage to make it all sound like an apocalypse is looming with China awash in cases for the fabled second wave. Must admit, it made me worry for a bit that we might end up doing the same. Then of course their coverage of the USA and Brazil..I can only hope Trump catches it & has a horrible death.

Drivingdownthe101 · 17/06/2020 20:16

Same, Willitneverend. I am genuinely shocked that some have embraced lockdown quite so much. I thought any sane and sensible person would tolerate it for the time needed to regroup, prepare and ‘flatten the curve’, so to speak, then want to get back to normal.
How wrong was I.

Orangeblossom78 · 17/06/2020 20:18

I keep getting calls from Scottish social services in case dad has sadly died, I keep telling them he is just deaf and that is why he is not answering the phone and they need to let it ring. Also his carers who he asked not to come anymore.

It's a bit stressful having to keep reassuring them all he has not sadly died, he is often just out rambling around the lake or something

countrygirl99 · 17/06/2020 20:27

spnbaby1967 I miss all those roundabouts on the drive to work.

Teateaandmoretea · 17/06/2020 20:31

I’ve just been to PRIMARK ShockGrin

BakewellTarts · 17/06/2020 20:38

I did see that story Ibake and yes our government continue to cover themselves in glory following all the rules!

Feel better soon Jourdain Flowers

BakewellTarts · 17/06/2020 20:41

spnbaby1967 I used to live in a town near you where the roundabout had roundabouts! I used to take great pleasure in going the wrong way round the main roundabout by going the right way round the mini roundabouts surrounding it. Small pleasures.

BakewellTarts · 17/06/2020 20:42

I've just caught up with the news on West End musicals. I have tickets for early September it's not looking promising is it?

NothingIsWrong · 17/06/2020 20:45

@BakewellTarts I know that roundabout well. And the Swindon version which is frankly terrifying.

MaudesMum · 17/06/2020 20:47

@BakewellTarts Sorry, no, and its shit, isn't it?. When commercial producers with big pockets like Cameron Mackintosh say they're not coming back until 2021, then I rather suspect the others will follow.

SpnBaby1967 · 17/06/2020 20:47

@BakewellTarts I had to drive that roundabout alot for work. Such fun roundabouts within a roundabout. I especially enjoyed watching the learner drivers attempt it.

BakewellTarts · 17/06/2020 20:47

Yep the Swindon one is dangerous. I still wonder at the bonkers highways team that came up with them.

NothingIsWrong · 17/06/2020 20:50

The same team that installed 3 lane roads where EITHER DIRECTION can use the middle lane. They must genuinely hate motorists. Luckily most seem now to have been converted to one direction or the other.

I'm pretty fed up. I love a good West End show. I fear it will be the end for many small local theatres.

Yes those were like a real live game of Chicken. Not all have been properly converted though lots are now just two really wide lanes. So of course folks still try to overtake.
fartingsparkles · 17/06/2020 20:55

@jourdain hope you're feeling better soon, and don't need to go in xx

Shows he thinks it's bollocks too.

Maybe it's a deliberate leak?

hellypad · 17/06/2020 21:00

I'm breaking cover though I have been lurking since thread 1 to let you all know the following exciting news, my daughters have dentists check ups booked in for tomorrow, got the obligatory email last week cancelling, this afternoon the dentist rang me to say he is opening in the morning and if the girls want to go in for their appointments they can!! We are obviously going, first non cancelled thing on the calendar since March.
