This'll be thread number 13, I think.

Let's hope it's a lucky one Grin

(Sorry about the feeble title)

I’ve found it. Im not engaging this time Grin.
Hope @Jourdain11 is ok.

SummerHouse · 16/06/2020 18:49

Thank you for the advice on previous thread. DCs booked in for some schooling and it feels right from a personal perspective but so wrong that everyone doesn't have the opportunity to choose.

BakewellTarts · 16/06/2020 18:49

Hello...not off to the shops until Friday (I've got to do boring work until then). But I'll check in anyway.

After yestersdays meltdown I'm feeling happier today. Had a picnic lunch with my lovely friend which cheered me up no end.

Good news on the Steriod treatment. Although obviously expect certain sections of the site to find something to get upset about over it.

Will catch up with the thread now.

Oh although early for a new thread title we must be off to the Speakeasy next.

torydeathdrug · 16/06/2020 18:51

In better news speech therapy for my youngest resumes next week, albeit over Zoom. It was immediately cancelled on lockdown and he’s regressed a bit.

^that's really really good news - we're in battle with SALT atm, as all they are offering is zoom based. DS1 is unable to access zoom due to his disability. We've escalated & are in communication with the head of the department - I am on the absolute warpath about it.

NothingIsWrong · 16/06/2020 18:53

Went and read the thread of doom. I cannot believe the amount of dementoring, luckily you lot have me in a better frame of mine or that would have seriously been bad for me. Right now, I can laugh at it.

Plus I've been counting my pennies for a shopping trip and it's all looking good!

KaronAVyrus · 16/06/2020 18:55

Just looked at the thread with the stars. Some full on dementoring going on. Clearly upset that the pandemic is coming to an end but praying for a 2nd wave.

ThatLibraryMiss · 16/06/2020 18:55

When all this is over (yes yes I know it’s never going to be over) we need to do a round up of our favourite dementing, then vote for an overall winner.

I vote for Eeyore. There’s no thread that she can’t me-rail with her shielding and demanding evidence that meets her very personal criteria.

Gammeldragz · 16/06/2020 18:57

Latest ONS data is out, I'm confused by the fact they blame May Bank Holiday for the fact excess total deaths were higher in week 23 than week 22, while in the next paragraph they say covid deaths were lower in week 23 than 22.
Dementors are going to latch on to the first point and ignore the second...

rookiemere · 16/06/2020 19:00

Yes I'm confused by the May Bank holiday reference as well. I don't understand what it relates to.

ThatLibraryMiss · 16/06/2020 19:01

@trappedsincesundaymorn

When ever that poster comes on I always read her posts with the voice of Eeyore in my head.
Not just me then...
Littlebelina · 16/06/2020 19:03

Sorry to hear about your Dad @SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito.

Glad to hear you've made the decision SummerHouse, I feel conflicted about it but it was right for us and the more kids back in school the more people will see the sky isn't falling

Allflightscancelled · 16/06/2020 19:04

Which thread is it? You'll need to spell it out for me, I'm thick

Allflightscancelled · 16/06/2020 19:06

Oh got it, sorry 😂

Mascotte · 16/06/2020 19:07

Does it mean because of a delay in registrations?

Littlebelina · 16/06/2020 19:07

Usual caveats as with other studies (covid is still very new) but this was also positive and out today

news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-under-20s-half-as-likely-to-catch-covid-19-says-study-12007936

ThatLibraryMiss · 16/06/2020 19:08

Patrick Valance "about 6 in every 100,000 people currently have covid" Soooooo how do people still not see this risk is TINY

Well I need to see statistics for my road and the roads I could walk on for my allotted one hour of exercise if the government would only impose a curfew on everyone else and so you selfish lot stay at home instead of going out enjoying yourselves. Statistics need to be accurate and from yesterday. Two-week-old statistics are too old and will be dismissed.

If I am asked for sources to back up my dementoring I will produce something from five weeks ago.

I am the only one here with a realistic outlook.

BamboozledandBefuddled · 16/06/2020 19:08

The ONS report doesn't mean the Bank Holiday caused deaths. Due to the BH, Week 22 only had four days when paperwork could be processed and deaths registered, so some deaths which might normally have been registered in Wk 22 weren't registered until Wk 23, so total excess deaths were higher. But in spite of the carryover from 22 to 23, Covid deaths were actually down, which is a positive sign. But that won't stop dementors dementing!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 16/06/2020 19:08

The thing I don't understand about that poster is she says she cant drive anywhere to walk as her DH drives and being in a car with him means she is less than 2m away.

I can imagine living with someone puts you in pretty close proximity......am I missing something?

CarrotPuff · 16/06/2020 19:11

@Gammeldragz I think what they're saying is that there were more deaths week 23 than 22, but overall, not just Covid. More Covid in 22. I think.

Jourdain11 · 16/06/2020 19:17

Hello! Sorry for being silent for a while... I am fine and finished Chemo no. 3. Actually recovered quicker from it than I did from 1 and 2, so I'm just hoping it's done its stuff and I can move into the consolidation phase of the treatment. (It is much less full-on - chemo as an outpatient, no long hospital stays!)

Hope you're all doing okay... thank you for the concern! Shall I go find this super dementory thread or will it send me nuts? Give me a clue where to find....

Allflightscancelled · 16/06/2020 19:20

It's in chat Jourdain. Got 2 stars in the thread title. Even I found it. Glad you're feeling ok

Ibake · 16/06/2020 19:21

Oh god, I went in. Took me ages to write because I had to keep deleting what I actually wanted to say and try and find a nicer way to express myself. Can you do anything about people like her? I'm quite new to posting so don't know all the rules. I'm thinking either get her banned or have MN send her a head tilted link to MH resources?

HesterShaw1 · 16/06/2020 19:21

Hi Jourdain I don't think we've spoken

Glad to hear you're doing ok. I was following the thread before I started piping up now I can't stop.

The thread in question is CELEBRATING DEATH by being encouraged that only 36 were reported on Sunday. That's in the title.

torydeathdrug · 16/06/2020 19:22

@BamboozledandBefuddled stupid people got to stupid I guess! It does actually hurt my brain trying to understand why they are so confused - is it wilful misunderstanding or an honest case of terminal dimness? I used to engage but they're a lost cause fighting the tide.

KaronAVyrus · 16/06/2020 19:22

Good to have you back Jourdain Wine
