This'll be thread number 13, I think.

Let's hope it's a lucky one Grin

Jourdain11 glad your chemo went well.

PatriciaHolm · 16/06/2020 19:24

The ONS study is actually very good news in terms of CV; the delay in reporting due to the bank holiday means an increase in deaths registered in week 23 over week 22, which always happens after a BH - but even so CV deaths registered in 23 are the lowest in nine weeks.

The concerning data is that non-CV deaths at home are above average still, which suggests people who should go to hospital are still reluctant to.

Ibake · 16/06/2020 19:25

Nice to see you @jourdain, glad all going well with your treatment. Not sure reading Chief Dementor's posts is the best way to spend your evening!

torydeathdrug · 16/06/2020 19:31

there was another poster (phonetic swear word in name) who was so completely deranged at the beginning that I begged mnhq to stage some sort of intervention for her own good - the forum and her posts were detrimental to public health. She's still knocking around but seems relatively well compared to some of the more recent ones.

People talk about a tsunami of mental ill health - they only have to look here on mn for evidence. I'm sure some posters are trolling for fun but others seem very ill.

HesterShaw1 · 16/06/2020 19:31

Oh I have been libelled on that thread 😁

BamboozledandBefuddled · 16/06/2020 19:31

@torydeathdrug Wilful misunderstanding plus completely ignoring any facts that don't meet with their approval. Most of them have degrees (First Class with honours) in Avoidance, Evasion, Word Twisting and generally being A Major Pain in the Arse. Anything that appears to be terminal dimness is more likely to be blinkered selfishness.

Can you tell she's getting me a bit irritated? Grin

Ibake · 16/06/2020 19:34

@livinlavidaloki I inferred from that she's isolated in the house from her DH if she can't go in the car with him. She said something on one post about not being in the same room. I'm just hoping the poor man has a massive fucking garden shed that he spends most of his life in.

SpnBaby1967 · 16/06/2020 19:37

I havent been on the crazy dementor thread, but now I need to know who holds this accolade of Chief Dementor! Grin

@SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonitor - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. 2020 fucking sucks!!

I havent braved the shops and wont be braving them for a while. Just because I hate busy places. I do need to go to IKEA at some stage though. I'm both dreading it & excited.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 16/06/2020 19:40

When ever that poster comes on I always read her posts with the voice of Eeyore in my head

Me too. Its sad. I cant imagine living in a prison of such awful negativity 24/7. Her own mind is more of a prison than lockdown will ever be.

Teateaandmoretea · 16/06/2020 19:45

Sir Samuel Flowers so sorry, that is truly shit

Did you hit your head or something BoJo? YOU are the reason my kids are missing out on education. I would send them back to a class of 50 if I could.

Totally. Dd1 is in a class of 15 while dd2 is at home. Dd1 is having a great time, the teacher for her 15 is the maths specialist (which dd has to work at, although she is good) and dd says she’s really getting her head algebra. Dd2 otoh 🤦🏻‍♀️

Jourdain11 · 16/06/2020 19:45

Hahahaha, that reminds me of DH walking to the shops earlier in lockdown and passing a guy in his car. He came back and the guy was still in his car, so DH asked if he was okay. The man said, "I'm self-isolating from the wife, in't I? She's doing my bloody head in!"

I've already read that thread... mistake! Wow! The cancer comment pissed me off and I'm not even particularly sensitive about it.

There are some positives about shielding, c'mon. She has to admit it. I haven't had to stand in a queue for almost 3 months Wink

Teateaandmoretea · 16/06/2020 19:48

I’m going to take the dds to Primark tomorrow evening. Banbury, it’s normally fairly socially distanced tbh so 🤞🏻

If nothing else it’s a trip out in the car 😂 #excitement

RubberDinghyRapids · 16/06/2020 19:49

I don't know the poster you're all talking about, but I think maybe we shouldn't single out individuals (however standout they may be) as it's probably "not in the spirit" and MNHQ will zap the thread. And I really don't want it to happen. I've got some superb NHS policy twattery going on at work (those of you in similar public biz will understand how much my eyes hurt from rolling backwards) and need this for my sanity.

  for @SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito and her Dad.
for @Jourdain11 (even though I don't think you drink? I'll have it if you don't)

Still no sign of Lilac? Sad

countrygirl99 · 16/06/2020 19:49

Jourdain good to hear things are going well for you.
Your comment about the man in the car reminded me of my lovely NDN, he's been self isolating from his wife (who terrifies DH) the whole 19 years we have lived here 😁

RubberDinghyRapids · 16/06/2020 19:50

Fuckssake Thanks and Wine should be there

Jourdain11 · 16/06/2020 19:52

I normally drink with the best of them! But sadly, it is currently prohibited. I did break ranks and have a teeny tiny glass of wine last night! But you can have it for me tonight Wink

Hobnobswantshernameback · 16/06/2020 19:55

Dd is bouncing tonight as she has her dates for school
Ds not so keen
I'm biting my tongue as the set sounds bloody miserable but they will get a smidge of normality
Please let this happen
Please

RubberDinghyRapids · 16/06/2020 19:56

I will! Will raise it in your direction too, when I finally get released from DD's bedroom and can sneak downstairs for it.

So jealous of those of you off to IKEA. Can you tell me if the solar powered outdoor lights look naice or naff? I want to make my garden prettier if I'm going to be stuck in it so much more.

SomewhereEast · 16/06/2020 19:58

Re IKEA, I'm holding out till the restaurants reopen because I refuse to do IKEA without meatballs

CarrotPuff · 16/06/2020 20:01

@RubberDinghyRapids don't even start. I'm so annoyed at the stupidity of it all I'm almost hyperventilating. From yesterday, we have to wear face masks whilst on trust premises at all times. Including admin staff who don't come into contact with patients. We're not even a bloody hospital. This is 3 fucking months down the line, with infections dropping as we speak!! 🤦🏻‍♀️😡🙄🙄🙄

Willow2017 · 16/06/2020 20:03

Good to see you back Jourdain11 glad its all going a bit better for you.

BarkandCheese · 16/06/2020 20:03

@Jourdain11 nice to see you back.

I agree we should be careful about singling out any particular poster too much for criticism. That particular poster caused a rash of deletions on one of our first threads because of discussion about them. I do understand it’s frustrating when someone behaves like that, but it would be a shame if our threads got pulled or posters got banned over one person.

SockYarn · 16/06/2020 20:06

My summoning charm worked on @Jourdain11. Flick and swish... flick and SWISH.

Or should that be Flout and Murder?

Glad you're doing well, Jourdain.

RubberDinghyRapids · 16/06/2020 20:07

@CarrotPuff Yep. We're technically a community hospital (have a couple of wards but also lots of admin, outpatient clinics and offices). Matt Wanksocks doesn't know how to differentiate, nor take advice from clinical staff..: nor trust that we could make our own clinical judgement. Our band 8b suggested that because we were going to need more PPE, we should stop changing it between patients when we're in clinics Hmm He got a pasting luckily.

BakewellTarts · 16/06/2020 20:07

@Hobnobswantshernameback the school set up is different and it could be grim if badly handled. DD2 is back in with her lovely teacher who is determined to make it as much as she can. DD2 is having a great time and I'm so happy for her.
