Count me in for an illegal rave. One of the ones that happened was within cycling distance of me - I could have gone had I not been middle aged and unwelcome, and of course if I was in the right circles to have known it was happening.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 14/06/2020 13:52

My friends gran went to a rave back in the day, she was 78 at the time. The poor ravers we're not sure if they were seeing a granny "big fish, little fish"ing or whether they'd been sold some dodgy pills...either way his gran thoroughly enjoyed herself and remarked how friendly people were and how nice it was to see them all drinking water and not getting drunk. Grin

Our Hobbycraft reopens tomorrow. I don't know what I need from there because it's essential that I browse and wander around until things catch my eye that I didn't know I needed until I saw them. And that's against Da Roolz Sad Plus there's hardly any room outside for queuing and I can easily see the queues getting all tangled up and people ending up in Pets at Home or (even worse) Halfords by mistake. I shall stay at home and waste money on Amazon instead.

And I've just told DH I want to go to an illegal rave and he said I'm too old Shock Divorce lawyers are working as usual, aren't they?

midnightstar66 · 14/06/2020 13:53

A poster today suggested that MNHQ should censor and remove all posts referring to 'rule breaking' as they might remove a post encouraging or advising other illegal pursuits such as drug dealing. It's not getting any better 😆

Polkadotdelight · 14/06/2020 13:54

@Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy I've jumped to page 9 from page 2 but I'm in Wales too and our school is only offering 3 hours a week from 29th June.

Khione · 14/06/2020 13:56

@DominaShantotto
That's awful. In the past I would have got upset too. I have now got to an age and experience where I no longer give a fuck what someone I don't care about thinks about me.

It took a while, with regular repeats to myself that 'Other people's opinion of me are really none of my business'. AND 'Mind over Matter, "I don't mind and you don't matter"' depending on the situation.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 14/06/2020 14:06

Went for a lovely walk around the coast today. Lots of play parks closed with big signs strapped to them "DUE TO COVID CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE"
I know its petty but I just want to sneak out in the dead of night and replace them with "OPEN THE PLAY PARKS!! SET OUR CHILDREN FREE!!!!"

justasking111 · 14/06/2020 14:10

OMG I have now got the welsh praying for the english tomorrow when they hit the shops. LMAO.

justasking111 · 14/06/2020 14:11

Livin. Some folk have been sneaking out at night and removing parks signs the council{grin] have not replaced them.

There's some top quality dementoring happening on Twitter with Paul Wheelhouse (he's one of our government ministers) arguing that opening Edinburgh Zoo will cause DEATH.

Willitneverend · 14/06/2020 14:28

It's Alex Cole Hamilton's thread. It's nuts.

ThatLibraryMiss · 14/06/2020 14:30

NothingIsWrong, Wool Warehouse sells quilting fabric. I've bought lots of knitting yarn from them and their service and delivery is always excellent.

If I go to Hereford I'll be close to them. I ought to pop in...

TeacupDrama · 14/06/2020 14:40

things might be looking up slightly there is a thread about afternoon tea and what should I serve and although over 100 messages with various cream and scones and cakes no one has said you can't do afternoon tea they have to bring own food it's a good sign Grin

Fuck sake! He is snp to the bone though. Might be worth setting up.a new twitter account just to ask why?😉

rookiemere · 14/06/2020 14:47

For anyone who lives near it in Scotland

SockYarn · 14/06/2020 14:53

Have just read Alex Cole-Hamilton's thread. Jeezo, there are some hardcore dementors out there. " The reason we have fewer cases in Scotland is because we did lockdown PROPERLY and it cannot be released. Ever".

Loch Leven's larder sounds awesome - well done them! My local coffee shop has opened weekends for takeaway and was tweeting some lovely pictures of cakes earlier. Tempted.

ButterMeCrumpets · 14/06/2020 14:57

When do you think the hardcore lockdowner's will change their tune?

When unemployment is sky high? When there is no money for public services because very little is coming in via tax?

I don't understand why there is such a disconnect between extended lockdown and a tanked economy Sad

Librarybooksandacoconut · 14/06/2020 14:58

@rookiemere I’m more than 5 miles, but near enough to consider it ‘local’. Sounds brilliant, we were going to head that way today but not actually managed to get organised. What I want to know is if the path around the loch is smooth enough for a scooter as that’s the only way to tempt DS out at the moment!

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 15:00

When do you think the hardcore lockdowner's will change their tune?

I think some of them never will they’d still be trilling ‘it’s too early’ this time next year .....

^this They are so so sure their view is right, so ingrained in their fear that I genuinely believe some will be like this for a very long time yet
justasking111 · 14/06/2020 15:05

Wales 3 death all in Cwm Taf region, 39 positive tests, so that is a good sign.

Orangeblossom78 · 14/06/2020 15:05

The idea of being locked down in some of those Scottish towns - I grew up in one and know what it is like. Sad

I'm in N Wales. Our primary is offering all pupils 4 days, so one lot of mon-thurs over the 4 weeks.

I'm having up and down days. We live 4.7 miles from England so can escape regularly. It is terrifying at the moment that so many are talking as if 2021 is when schools may reopen ft again.

I can't cope. Nor can my DS (8). And poor DD. (11) missing out on all her move up to high school stuff 😢

QuietlyLurkingintheCorner · 14/06/2020 15:08

Hello lovely sane people who have been keeping me going over the past few weeks!

I am delurking to tell you about the delicious murdering we committed yesterday when we broke into a children's play area at a local NT property. It was glorious & the children were as happy as if it had been Christmas morning.

When we were going in the volunteers checking tickets looked at our 3 plague-ridden death spreaders and said, 'of course all our play areas are closed.' Then we were handed a map where all the symbols for play areas had CLOSED written over in big red letters.

We had a lovely time picnicking and subverting the ridiculous outdoor one way system, followed by the big break in (we just crawled under the tape!) Dh & I sat in the treehouse thing having our coffee & cake while the children whooped up & down the slide. On the walk back we passed another play area that is normally joyous big wooden swings but they had removed them all leaving just the frames. It seemed unnecessarily cruel.

Oh and then the toilets are now unisex to accommodate the frigging one way system & although it's signposted in nice clear language, you have to walk past the urinals to get to the less smelly women's end. I was thinking it would be interesting to see the equality impact assessment for that.

HesterShaw1 · 14/06/2020 15:09

What do the sciencey and statsy non dementors make of the outbreak in Beijing?

I'm asking this very quietly. For a friend.
