Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:53

Ibake · 14/06/2020 00:54

@allflightscancelled just an excuse to post one of my all time fave memes

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:56

ibake I'm not ashamed to say that made me snort 😂

Ibake · 14/06/2020 00:59

Glad you liked it! Christ I need to go to sleep. Hope you get some too. Night x

BogRollBOGOF · 14/06/2020 01:00

My chip shop has cut its hours so it now closes at 8pm. WTAF. 8pm is about the time I conclude I'm completely uninspired about cooking and get my trainers on to wander down there.

Fortunately we have found another chippie on the right side of town for our Friday evening walks and is open until 9:30 which is a useful time.

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 01:05

But I mean really. Doesn't this just prove recent music has been crap. These kids in my garden are playing music from my youth. And I'm an old parent so they're 17 and I'm 57. They're jealous that I've been to see these bands live. I just have to try not to be smug when they play me a new song they've found and I know all the words

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 01:07

Yeah 8 does seem to knock out most of a chippie's usual clientele, I would think

ButterMeCrumpets · 14/06/2020 06:32

Have been lurking for a while but wanted to say hello.

I am tired of every thread sucking the joy out of life with all the 'rules'. And you are all making me want chips Grin

blackteaplease · 14/06/2020 06:44

I've also been lurking on the last few threads for the delicious sanity. The threads move so fast though, I cant always keep up.
Love the garden party celebrations. Hope there aren't too many sore heads today.

Checking in bright and fucking early on a Sunday morning! When do children become self sufficient enough to get up, make their own breakfast and park themselves in front of the TV? Is 17 months too early?

At 17 months theu should be resilient enough to go out foraging for their own food FFS.

What is wrong with this coddled generation?

trappedsincesundaymorn · 14/06/2020 07:34

Morning everybody.

Chips you say? Oh go on then but could I have mine with gravy please?

Delta1 · 14/06/2020 07:34

Wow I think I missed two whole threads! Happy there are so many of us 😂
I am so done. I want my kids off their bloody iPads and back in school. Want to scream!!!!

lovingtea · 14/06/2020 07:58

well ysterday ds stayed at grandma`s while dh and I viewed a house, wandered to estate agents and put in an offer (accepted), wandered round town, sainsburys, tesco for glace cherries, stopped at the chippy for fish n chips for tea.

a good day!

Nihiloxica · 14/06/2020 08:01

Oh wow, congratulations on the house purchase loving. Smile

TeacupDrama · 14/06/2020 08:02

My DD just moves between Roblox, Minecraft and anime. Nothing happens so when she's on WhatsApp with her friends they talk about Roblox it's sad, the weekends just blend into weeks the only difference being no Google classroom

In DS little circle of friends he has two friends he has been inseparable from since nursery. Friend 1s mum is a bit of a dementor, posts about the r rate and talks about how bad it is here (yeah an average of 2 cases a week is fkn terrible isn't it).
Friend 2s mum complete non dementor. We have met up a few times took the kids to the park and the beach (they always stay 2m from other people) and to play in each others gardens. It's so sweet seeing them so happy.
Friend 1 we popped round a few weeks ago (friends mum wanted to borrow our hedge trimmer). Friend 1 and DS started to play and friend 1 mum called out that they needed to stay 2m from each other. It felt so sad.
Friend 1 mum messaged last night to ask if we want to go to the park for a socially distanced playdate next week. The idea of them having to play 2m apart from each other makes me sad.

SockYarn · 14/06/2020 08:10

Morning sensible people.

Pissed off this morning as someone spouting on another thread how we're "almost back to normal".

Superbly pissed off about the plans for part-time school for a considerble period in Scotland. Not going to work and the impact on kids will be horrendous. Numbers of cases down so low in Scotland that there's simply no justification.

On another note I haven't been feeling well over the last few days with a heavy cold, and the Zoe app told me to book a test. Drove in yesterday morning, outnumbering the staff by about 50 to 1. Swab done in a couple of minutes, in and out of the centres in about 4 minutes total. Result by teatime - negative of course.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 14/06/2020 08:11

@lovingtea that's an amazing day! Congrats on the house.

I'm glad the chips part of the title strikes a chord with so many!

Loki I'm lucky in that so far, anyone we've met for DD to play with has been happy to either ignore the 2m rule for the kids, or at least be relaxed about it not being perfect the whole time. I'm now worried about DD going back to school on Mon and getting too close to the kids in her bubble and being told off by her teacher Sad.

@SockYarn I am furious with the 'almost back to normal' crowd. Since when was queueing to get a pint of milk normal? Or not knowing if my child can go to school in September? Fucking numpties.

"BlackberryViolet"I love Whitby but mainly go to Robin hood's bay. Can't wait to get back there. Dh and I were supposed to be doing the Cleveland way soon and that takes in Whitby and Robin hood's bay. Sadly we'll have to wait until next year

lovingtea · 14/06/2020 08:17

to do a viewing we had to wear a mask and gloves. It was obvious to the house owner Id not worn a mask before.....since I had it on sideways, complaining I couldnt see lol!
