@SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito

Anti dementors say lockdown can just fucking do one now, we're going for chips.

?

Maybe a bit too direct Grin

Love it!

And it's your turn to start it, so go for it as soon as we turn to page 40.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 13/06/2020 22:18

Right, I'm on it.

Hands off, Wales!

BlackberryViolet · 13/06/2020 22:20

Dowser, looks like it’s finished. If we’re thinking of the same bit. The bridge between the piers is in and open and all seems to be done. Dh was quite keen to have a wander

I want to hear all your experiences when the shops do open on Monday, so bloody jealous. The main street in Llandudno is like the scene in high noon before the shoot out with tumbleweed blowing through it.

Ibake · 13/06/2020 23:26

Evening all. Just briefly checking in so as not to be rude to all my new found friends. Lovely, normal, day today. Walk with a friend this morning. Crosby Beach this afternoon with dog and DH - and fish and chips. Home in time to go to a friends for a drink and then text from DH who is in another friends garden. So I trot over there afterwards, carrying my bottle of prosecco and acrylic champagne flute (how common) and have just got home now. How utterly delightful and normal. Might even DTD too!! Love to you all xx

@Ibake sounds fab! Come find us all on the new thread tomorrow, you can tell us about the hangover Grin

BlackberryViolet I love Whitby but mainly go to Robin hood's bay. Can't wait to get back there. Dh and I were supposed to be doing the Cleveland way soon and that takes in Whitby and Robin hood's bay. Sadly we'll have to wait until next year.

It seems BBC News has dropped its rolling news on the topic

Omg I’ve just read about the Scottish education stuff in the Times. This is a wind up right?

KaronAVyrus · 14/06/2020 09:14

No, it’s not a wind up. My 15 yr old will be doing 4 days out of every 15 days in school.
They’re calling it “blended learning” but actually it’s very part time learning. It’s shocking and I’m just so furious about it.

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 09:33

Dd is about to start year 7. I took the little madam round the local girls private school and she didn’t want to go. I really really wish now that I had made her sit the entrance exam instead of just letting her choose the local comp.

Teateaandmoretea · 14/06/2020 09:33

At least in Scotland they have a plan, even if you don’t like it. England they have no idea at all right now 😳

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 14/06/2020 09:54

@Teateaandmoretea if there's a chance she'd change her mind now, I'd get in touch with the private school. They are all (except the very top flight ones) very worried about their numbers dropping and the money drying up. Friends of mine who teach in private are scared for their jobs. It's easy to get a single child to do an entrance exam. I expect they'd bite your hand off.
