@Lickyicelollies

Meanwhile on Facebook I am MURDERING ALL THE PEOPLE by inviting folks to join the Us for Them Scotland group Hmm
I've used up all my witty retorts this week so I'd probably just end up responding "I care more than you do you clueless fanny" or the old classic.. "Fuck off"
Allflightscancelled · 13/06/2020 11:08

How do you brew colloidal silver?

Glad you're feeling better, Dowser! Off to put the tent up for dd's sleepover/Queenathon (Uber fan)

Nihiloxica · 13/06/2020 11:08

the locals on the West Brit website are being assholes.

Wait... so do people in Cornwall see themselves as West Brits?

Smile

In Ireland "West Brit" is a term of abuse for people who are of, or adopt the mannerisms of, the Protestant British ascendancy.

Or in some cases anyone who thinks anything British us not by definition worse than its Irish equivalent.

I love the idea that Western-most Celtic fringes of England are West Brits and proud Grin

Orangeblossom78 · 13/06/2020 11:18

I have probably been murdering for months. Had a weird big after France, in March, bit no test as not been to Italy

Have just ordered one to check as it can hang about for months apparently, (although seems not infectious after the original bout)

Anyway now test is en route and wishing had not ordered it now, as DC back at school and DH to work. I think it would mean all would have to stop and stay home for 14 days, if positive, even though we would have had it months ago

Not sure what to do now. Would be good to know I suppose as have a bit of immunity I guess. What do you think I should do? No you have to tell neighbours I wonder. I get shopping for an old lady. (always wash hands though and it is delivered)

Orangeblossom78 · 13/06/2020 11:18

bug, sorry for typos a bit anxious

HesterShaw1 · 13/06/2020 11:24

The West Briton is one of the regional papers in Cornwall. It's kind of Central Cornwall I think...Carrick and Kerrier. The Cornishman is Penwith. The Cornish Guardian is Restormal and Caradon. Don't know about North Cornwall.

It's all the same old bullshit!

HesterShaw1 · 13/06/2020 11:26

Orangeblossom that's tough. From an utterly selfish perspective I'd rather not know, but on the other hand you don't want to be genuinely going around murdering grannies.

The key thing to know if whether you're infectious isn't it?

Orangeblossom78 · 13/06/2020 11:33

Yes, i mean if they advised you properly as in about when originally felt ill etc that would be one thing but sounds like it is just one rule for all, kind of wishing had not done it now and it is on the way.

Maybe if it does some back positive can discuss with the GP as he was contacted at the time and also prescribed some meds. He was unable to test then though. Oh who knows. Real can of worms isn't it at times

Nihiloxica · 13/06/2020 11:36

I wouldn't bother testing now for an infection you had months ago.

I'd maybe do antibody testing.

NothingIsWrong · 13/06/2020 11:36

Sittting here doing nothing. I have no energy or will to do anything. Almost wishing I never had kids or DH as then I could just spend the day drinking myself into a stupor to avoid the anxiety

Orangeblossom78 · 13/06/2020 11:48

Antibody testing is not available on NHS right now, and privately is quite expensive. also I can never get enough blood for those tests

Dowser · 13/06/2020 11:54

All flights...if you’re wanting to go down the cs route brewing your own is the better option , be a you will end up using it a lot.
It’s still in the trial phase for me but I’ve reAd and researched It for 2 years and so many people are having wonderful results with it.

And no, it doesn’t turn you blue. That man wanted to turn blue and was brewing it to coffee coloured

What you will need
1 two silver wires at 99.99 Per cent silver..I got them from procolloidslsilvet
2 distilled water..again from same place..you can distill your own, obviously it should work out cheaper
3 alligator clips..
4 wires
5 a litre jug
6 a power source, at the moment we are using 3 9v batteries, but you can buy an electrical supply. Technical bit coming up..mr Dowser soldered the batteries together

How to make
1 fill your jug with distilled water and place rods as far apart inside as possible
2 make little loops to hang them from container edge
3 attach alligator clips to the wires attached to batteries and to loops

You’re now making cs

Allow about 3 hours per litre. If room is warm it might brew quicker.

You’re aiming for about 15-20 ppm cs

How do you know this?

Well
I bought a TDS meter which isn’t very efficient, but the guy at procolloidsl says about 3 hours and that seems to be right.
You can shine a laser light through it that will give you a beam of colour, there’s none in distilled water..but this isn’t recommended.

You can taste it..you’re looking for a metallic taste..you want to stop before it starts to go slight yellow.
It’s ok, it won’t poison you..you just don’t need it to be stronger
Stronger isn’t better

There’s loads of videos on YouTube

First photo is our first batch..a bit overdone
Second photo is distilled water
Third photo is shop bought..which is about right

Dowser · 13/06/2020 12:05

I hear you nothing is wrong.
Drained myself as I had a rough night.
I need my osteopath dammit.
I’m being kind to myself today..nothing
I’ve had a little cry
You be kind to yourself too..can you leave the little buggers with oh, while you have a slow amble somewhere. 😂

Dowser · 13/06/2020 12:08

Orange blossom, way back in third week of May , carer son was in contact with a covid + client
Test came next day.
Had to book a courier slot before the test
First available was yesterday..that’s right June 12
Test had to be taken the day before pickup and I believe you have to take the test in a 5 day window

So, that went out of the window
What a farce

TheGreatWave · 13/06/2020 12:12

Just been to our local shopping centre. Undercover with a fairly good range of shops.

All benches have been removed. So anyone not great mobility wise or have a baby that suddenly wants feeding, tough. Cafes closed too, so not even like you could sit it one of them.

What's the point? It is so middle ground as to be pointless.

TheGreatWave · 13/06/2020 12:16

Disabled people have been well and totally screwed over. Toilets shut, car parks shut, disabled spaces used for queuing areas and nowhere to rest.

Why are none of the disability groups taking government and councils to task for this? Usually someone who parks in a blue badge space who shouldn't is publicly shamed on FB, yet this seems to be being accepted.

The only thing I have seen with regarding supermarket delivery slots.

Shodan · 13/06/2020 12:21

I slept for 9 hours last night. Went to bed way too late as ds2 is at his dad's, and didn't get up until 11 am. I feel like I'm a teenager again Grin

I think Scotland and Wales will massively regret this because it's really discouraging people from ever going there

I'm sorry to say I feel discouraged this year. My mum is half Welsh, I've been going to Wales since I was a kid, we used to have a cottage in Cei Bach and even though that got sold years ago I still revisit the area every few years. This year I was excited to take the boys (ds2 has never been), staying in Aberaeron and then up north or a few days, but now even if we're allowed in I don't want to go Blush

The thought of social distancing, not being able to take the boys to the attractions I love, the possibility of the locals being less than welcoming- none of this shouts 'holiday' to me.

So we're not going. Even if I lose the deposits, which I fear I will. It's such a shame, I love the place so much and it means so much to me, but it'll have to wait now.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 13/06/2020 12:23

@Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy oh thank fuck
I'm in Cardiff too
That means there's at least 2 non dementors in the city Grin
To be fair I work with a lot of non dementors in the COVID pit (not my description Hmm) that is a.....hospital
Been out in Bute park today
Loads of families having a lush time and coffee and bacon butties available
I feel a smidge hopeful

Orangeblossom78 · 13/06/2020 12:28

My relative in Holland just been int ouch, she says opposite to here, is very lapse there, pubs open, no-one distancing in the toilets etc, so she is a bit worried about it, however she said there has not been a big rise in cases- as yet anyway. Sounds like two different ends of the spectrum. Also saying hand sanitiser pots run out in shops and no one bothers anymore.

Orangeblossom78 · 13/06/2020 12:29

Dowser oh dear (test) hope he feels better now that's the main thing

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 13/06/2020 12:31

@hobnob - now see I want to work out who we've got in common and if we know each other! We are so lucky to have such a green city. I've found some lovely walks in this period. I'm scared to have a coffee without a loo available but once you're walking things are pretty normal! It's just as soon as you want to do anything else.

Disabled people have been well and totally screwed over. Toilets shut, car parks shut, disabled spaces used for queuing areas and nowhere to rest.

I know, it's mad.

From my voluntary work (that has not been happening for 3 months) I am very familiar with mobility issues and how they affect people's ability to get around and be part of public life. Places to rest are so important.

Thankfully benches here have been left alone. In fact when lockdown was more lockdowny people seemed to be leaving them for use by people who needed to sit, rather than for a leisurely arse park and look at the view.

I need to remember stuff like this. Most people are decent. They're not on social media insisting that bench sitters are murderers, they're leaving the benches for the people who really need them when bench sitting might be a way of spreading a virus. Smile
