My number 1 dementor relative has just unmuted on Facebook...
"Glass of wine in with the hubs, still on lockdown peeps #staysafe"
I could not resist....
"Bloody hell I'm glad you reminded me, what with all this freedom I have I'd almost forgot"

GoldenOmber · 12/06/2020 20:38

Special thanks to whoever mentioned the telegraph article about school kids being more likely to die by being hit by lightning than COVID.

cannot BELIEVE Boris wants to use our children as guinea pigs for lightning as well! My kids are staying indoors until there's a vaccine for lightning.

Trouble is, there aren’t enough dickheads willing to stand under a tree in a storm to test a lightening vaccine on...
Teateaandmoretea · 12/06/2020 20:40

If giving being struck by lightening is all it takes then I’m in 😂😂

MagdaS · 12/06/2020 20:45

@Dollybagwash it was me that wanted Sex Roolz. Thank you. I promised to share them with my colleagues. Grin

Brilliant.

My most dementory relation popped up on my timeline today... some pish about Boris and sacrificial goats. Must have come to the end of the 30 day snooze.
Snoozed again.

Willow2017 · 12/06/2020 20:51

Oooh are we sacrificing goats now? Just let me get my cloak and chalk...
Beats watching repeats on tv

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 12/06/2020 20:55

@Drivingdownthe101 I'm still holding out for that mortality vaccine. Not budging until then!

Thanks to this thread whenever someone mentions safety or health it's like an automatic reflex when I say "I've never felt so well/safe in my life as I haven't been within 6 foot of anyone for months now...I just want my life back". People then back away another 6 foot so thanks for that!

No idea if my link will work but my friend sent me this today. It's quite long but I agree with what he says.

AnxiousElephant77 · 12/06/2020 20:57

Dc have gone to xdh this weekend, so dp and I have just been for a 2 hour walk in the rain. We got a can of cider each on the way back.

Not my normal choice of a night out, trainers and a parka with my hood up, but in the absence of anything else, at least we felt like us for a couple of hours.

bakingcupcakes · 12/06/2020 20:57

Omg, it actually worked! Go me!

HesterShaw1 · 12/06/2020 20:59

I love Chris Packham, but he just exhorted us to "stay safe".

I wonder what he really thinks

Teateaandmoretea · 12/06/2020 21:01

Is anyone else being driven mad by hay fever? I don’t know whether I have it worse than usual (I really don’t, it’s been way worse) or am just actually more aware of/ paranoid about the symptoms because of Covid. A piriton tablet seems to have immediately improved my symptoms so I reckon all is well Smile

Drivingdownthe101 · 12/06/2020 21:02

Teateaandmoretea I have never suggested from hayfever before but am suffering with it this year, so from that I assume that the pollen is particularly bad this year!

Bollss · 12/06/2020 21:03

Ugh "stay safe"

Dp was watching sky sports bloody news earlier and the guy signed off with stay safe.

Ive probably never been safer in my life, physical health wise.

Equally my mental health is pretty terrible right now....

HesterShaw1 · 12/06/2020 21:03

YES! The pollen is dreadful this year.

It's making my whole head itch this evening. Every orifice!

Drivingdownthe101 · 12/06/2020 21:03

And the Zoe app identified my (what turned out to be) hay fever as Covid symptoms and sent me for a test (which was negative).

MaxNormal · 12/06/2020 21:08

Has anyone mentioned yet that Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park are being forced to remain shut till 15 July?
The Park posted this morning sounding devastated. Their income funds so much conservation work.

iamapixie · 12/06/2020 21:19

God my MP is full dementor. I was exhorted to stay safe in the latest MP-speak response to my questions about when we're going to ban life in general seeing as we can ban everything for Covid. Fuck fuck fucking fuck. I started this frigging pandemic off being all sensible and measured and left wing and I've now turned into a frothing anti-lockdown-dementor libertarian.
@Mascotte the idea of just giving up on school and doing fun stuff instead is so good. Mine might be a bit too old (near-teens) but oooh I'm really quite tempted to just drop out of this shitshow society we're creating. Happy thiughts

Willow2017 · 12/06/2020 21:19

Max unless they give up the stupid 5 mile rule we cant go. I would be there like a shot but police round here are checking number plates apparently so not worth the hassle.
Its just so bloody minded. Power trip 101.

Khione · 12/06/2020 21:20

@Blobby10

I don’t think my dear mum quote understands the bubble thing 😂😂😂 she announced today that she could hug her grandchildren - yep but she has grandchildren from 3 daughters 😂😂 she can’t hug ‘em all 😂😂 she had a stroke in Feb so we’ve been shielding her and dad has given up his pretty active and varied life to look after her and protect her - I’m sure she won’t but I really hope she doesn’t contract cv19 now! 😳
Yes she can

Maybe to keep the facade up, not all at the same time but if you have all been handwashing and not hugging strangers, then just go for it.

Anyone of you has such a minute chance of having covid - if one family has a member that is front line NHS or careworker then maybe leave it a bit longer but otherwise hug her while she is still here to be hugged and hug as much as you can it will never be too much

HesterShaw1 · 12/06/2020 21:21

My bloody MP hasn't even replied to my plea for help.

Angry
BakewellTarts · 12/06/2020 21:24

DD2 (11) took herself off for 2 hours today...went for a walk or forage round the woods near our village I think (she came back with a lot of twigs).

DD1 (14) took herself off on a 90 minute bike ride today. 20 odd km covered.

I have been encouraging both to be out on their own.

I am obviously a very negligent mum.

justasking111 · 12/06/2020 21:26

Deafening silence from Grand kids school. A letter last week said they would know by Wednesday, well tick tock. No news is good news right?

The dementor groups are unsnoozing must have been thirty days now. Am busy snoozing them again without peeking.
