I painted my (shit UPVC) front door magenta today

and I bloody love it 😆. Makes me grin every time I look at it.

Ideally would've had a new door but too £££ at the minute.

Was a bland and badly painted green/grey before.

Love that magenta! There is a magenta door near me and I always smile when I see it.

I know what I'm going to be doing. I hate my UPVC front door, so will be freshening it up.

This thread has spurred me on to order some paint to renovate some grotty metal garden chairs that I have relegated to the back of my garden. They will look lovely painted a nice bright turquoise and I will use them as plant stands on my patio.

Your foot has a new lease of life. I have got a skip today and it has made me so happy. I am putting a new kitchen in b2l and had taken old units and wall tiles out but had to leave on patio. I also changed all internal doors in house. 10 old doors to skip too. Now I can get rid of this rubbish and hose patio down. Yippee.

I painted an old wooden summer seat and am going to paint the boiler house and the shed to match!

I am definitely going to do my back door now! (Live on a farm and my back door is the front door)

This thread inspired me! I hate hate hate my front door but think this makes it look a million times better, plus brightens up the dark hall.

Will do the outside tomorrow when the weather is a bit more trustworthy

I love it! Can I ask though, what's with the hate of uPVC doors? Genuine question as I've never heard people irl talk about their hatred of uPVC doors!

@Tink1990 mine is cheap looking and just boring. When we bought this house I always wanted to save up and have a sunshine yellow front door, so this is the next best thing!

I love the brightly coloured doors. My front door got damaged a few years ago & very quickly, for security, I had to choose a new door. I love the style but chose a black door...which looks nice but seens dull. My indoors is all different colours, I don't think I've white anywhere except ceilings...so I like colour & now I am inspired! Do you have to take door off to paint it?

@SionnachGlic nope, just taped up the glass, letterbox etc (I'm a messy painter so that was largely pointless)

Oh the man that came to fix my patio doors told me about painting front doors!
Was it easy? Has it come out okay?
I stripped the melamine off my kitchen cupboards and painted those and was really impressed. I’m very tempted to my front door now I’ve see yours.

Seriously? Maybe everyone just knows how awful they look so we don't need to talk about it any more . Mine is so horrible I'd resent even pasting paint on it.
