You all move so fast. Just checking in again. I'm still here. Still trucking.

Had a lovely picnic with my mum yesterday. We met up in a park and just hung out for a couple of hours. Haven't seen her since Feb so it was bliss. The kids loved it, it made a real difference to them. She lives in a different city so we met half way between.

I am waiting anxiously for an update about how school intend to run the day when they open up a week Monday.

In other news my kids sleep is still buggered and nightmares are the new norm.

Currently composing a 20 page PowerPoint to brief visitors (especially overweight men, take a shot every time the BBC article mentions overweight men) who may enter my garden, along with an elaborate grid system for people to sit within.

All guests will be required to catheterise themselves on entry. Large DO NOT EAT THE COLESLAW signs will be displayed on each fence post.

Oh yes!! Missed the last thread, so pleased to have found you all again! Met DCs friend and parents for 'soc-dis' catch up yesterday. Both me and their mum actually cried as it was first time in fucking weeks had heard them laugh. Feeling a bit of on the up.

@SpnBaby1967 I don’t get hayfever but DH and DS both have it. I hate to say it but I’m quite enjoying getting big bogeys out of DS’s nose (he’s 2.5, not 18 or anything). Hope you’re not suffering too much today ❤️

I’m feeling a little stir crazy today and planning a murderous garden centre trip just because I need to get out!

Am also still annoyed at the very dementorish letter sent out by DS1’s school yesterday basically shouting DANGER and making it clear that the head doesn’t want the Y6s anywhere near the school

Met up with a friend and her DS yesterday as per new Scottish rules. It was so wonderful to see her, but even better was seeing DS 14 chatting animatedly with a pal and then they kicked a ball around a bit in the front garden once we'd been on our walk. DS is not an enthusiastic child but after they left he turned to DH and said "That was really good". I feel so good for being able to give DS what he needs.

DH and I went to friends in the evening and had a socially distanced meet up with our own drinks. I had brought the she wee but they let us in the loos . However with the new track and trace, the Scottish rules are that you don't have to self isolate even if you are in proximity of an infected person if you've remained 2 metres apart, but if you've used their loo then you would need to self isolate. As we think we've already had it but bloody government won't let us pay for our own antibody tests I'd be loath to be forced to self isolate over a bit of squeamishness about weeing outside,so I'll try to get to grips with the she wee again or buy some travel johns ( Used them for camping basically pee into crystals that absorb it). Or - if I could bring myself to google it - buy some adult nappies .

It's dd2's 5th birthday on Friday. Planning to murder all her classmates by suggesting they stop by to say hello and have an
ice cream. Hope this does not make me a social pariah. Kids going to keyworker school on Monday. Bit nervous about how it'll be too. Reception not back till 17th

I'm just getting all my rage down in an email to circulate to all governors ahead of a meeting on weds.
It's probably pointless but I feel I need to do something.

I just don't get the school thing. The prevalence in the community is low on the whole isn't it? And you can't spread Corona unless you've got it. And everyone is eligible for a test now.. and the track and trace is up and running.

Do teachers have a higher death rate that I am unaware of? Why do they all think it means sudden death?

In reality they're probably more of a risk to the kids than the kids are to them considering adults are allowed out and kids aren't!

It’s funny with hay fever this year, normally DD really suffers and I get it moderately, but so far neither of us have done more than have the odd sneeze. However the poor dog has developed it, she’s very small so nose height to long grass and we noticed that after walks in fields rather than on paths she was getting wheezy and her eyes were getting swollen and watery.

trustthegenegenie, teachers death rate same as everyone else according to ons (was buried in bbc livefeed about a week ago) and that was based on people infected pre lockdown in case anyone wants to use that argument.

Dd1 is particularly bad this year with her hayfever. She is meeting a friend today, which will be lovely for them both.

We are planning a trip to a garden centre, the really mundane things are bringing such pleasure. I don't really want anything, I just want to mooch.

Mad hay fever this year. I went out for a run with ds1 last night, about 9, so peak midge time. I had a stupid runny nose and ate about 459 bugs, causing me to cough heartily. Strangely though, no-one in the car park I ran through seemed the least bit bothered about my bug-cough.

Off out today for more Healthy Exercise in the form of karate training. All I really need now for BoJo to say it's ok for non-house-sharing partners to bonk madly and I'll be happy

I saw someone on another thread, who was opposed to the schools going back, stating twenty six (I think) teachers had died. I don’t know where this number came from, but without any further information this means precisely nothing. If it was a case that without doubt twenty six teachers currently actively classroom teaching had caught the virus from their pupils and died then yes, that would be a cause for concern. However twenty six out of thirty thousand happening to share the same profession has no relevance.

Another dangerous buffoon checking in ... I’m teetering on the edge of falling out with both my sisters (both teachers) who are being surprisingly dementorish. Apparently the NEU have told them that any teacher whose partner is either BAME or a man over 55 should consider self-isolating in their home. They’re also having to wear visor, gloves and plastic apron in their ‘bubble’ room. It doesn’t matter how many times I point out that the R number where we are is very low and the community transmission here is tiny - it’s not safe and there’s going to be a deadly second wave - apparently...

On the plus side I had a lovely riding lesson yesterday which was very good for my soul (even though my inner thigh muscles are paying for it this morning 😬)

The BBC article is insane . ‘If someone has to walk through your house, you would be reasonable to ask them to wear a mask and ask them to walk as quickly as possible’. What, in case they decide they want to amble through my hall, coughing and sneezing over my walls?

Morning fellow buffoons. My hay fever manifests itself in the form of runny nose, weepy eyes and a cough. Not a good look during "normal" times let alone now. I got hissed at by a pesky dementor yesterday about "being out whilst ill". I did point out nobody cared when I had the exact same look every year up until now and staying in from late April/early May (tree pollen) until September (everything else pollen), was not going to happen at this, or any other time. I rounded it of with a "so good day to you madam", because I was in that sort of mood.

mascotte and fellow Scotland livers have a had the survey from local authority re the "pishblend-learning" as it's now known in our home? I ran out of space in the free text aspect for comments. It's the biggest load of shit ever and sends my rage skyrocketing!
