Working from home must be difficult unless like friends one partner takes full and I mean full responsibility all day for the kids. My friends children were trained from day 1 that when daddy was working no-one made a noise upstairs. They did have a 5 bedroom 3 reception room home though.
Yeah - I've had to basically drop my degree completely to take over the kids (before they went back to school) so DH could work - but we have a 2 bed house with 2 children and so DH and his work have had to suck up child noise and child interruptions - but I've done all the educating, all the enforcing (I am so bloody sick of being "bad cop") and all the planning of activities.
In our house it was kind of natural I did that as I'm primary teacher trained and actually understand HOW to do maths rather than DH who would just get pissed off you didn't know the answer automatically - but still it's my future career that's taken the hit and had to go on the backburner - and will potentially need to defer a year next year if schools are part-time. Thank fuck for the no-detriment policy being based off marks earlier in the year where I was getting an insanely high average mark at least - although I still have had to defer some examined work till August in the hope that by then I can legitimately get the kids up to stay with my parents for a few weeks so I can revise in some form of peace.
Just seen school's twitter and they've been making podcasts again - I'll admit - I rolled my eyes at this school's technology obsession and investment - but in times like these it's paid off no end. Think DD1 is planning a career as a youtuber now though! To be honest it's just great to hear her being a school kid again when they upload them online (they've been writing different types of poems and recording them).
