I do check and still miss mistakes didn't need both children and kids in one sentence I wrote.

Allflightscancelled · 02/06/2020 15:54

Hard though, isn't it? And I'm a copy editor by trade Blush

Bollss · 02/06/2020 15:55

Gp just reffered to ent. I asked for anti inflams (can't take ibuprofen due to asthma) and they said no and booked me in with ent. They said they thought it was tmj but I do clench my teeth in my sleep.

Spoke to dentist and asked if a mouth guard would help but he said no because I'd still be clenching and I've not damaged my teeth so in his view it was pointless. I've been round in circles with it!

Honestly I'm up for any suggestions because I'm fed up with it! I can't yawn without pain!

I might ring gp again and push for anti inflams since ent isn't going to be open for the foreseeable!

Allflightscancelled · 02/06/2020 16:02

I think it might be worth it, GeneGenie. My GP referred me to the dentist who referred my to the dental hospital and they DID recommend a mouthguard. It does help because it holds your jaws apart just a bit, so even if you feel like you're clenching hard, you're not doing it as hard as before. Which may be enough.

In the meantime, maybe a warm water bottle or heat patchiest might ease it? Worth a try, possibly.

In other news, now we're being told we can't use water so much. We've all been using too much in lockdown: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52893790

A couple of weeks ago, following weeks of non collection of recycling bins owing to bastard lockdown, we went through the bin, took out all paper and card and burned it to make space. Turns out we weren't;t allowed to do that either. In case it made breathing more difficult for the non existent people locally with Covid-19.

I wonder what we CAN do? Angry

Drivingdownthe101 · 02/06/2020 16:23

justasking111 DH works from home 3 or 4 days a week in ‘normal’ times (commutes to London the other days) and I work freelance from home (usually evenings). We have a fairly big house and DH works upstairs, but I’m still constantly yelling ‘be quiet, daddy is on a phone call!’ at the DC. It’s exhausting!

@Allflightscancelled Apparently the water in our postcode area was cut off/at v low pressure the other day. I immediately felt guilty because I'd filled the (large) paddling pool that very afternoon Grin

Our borough council has also 'suggested' that we shouldn't have bonfires, so I've dug out my outdoor log burner for this evening's garden drinks. Keeping within the letter of the guidance, if not the spirit...

DominaShantotto · 02/06/2020 16:48

I see they're all over the "need to stop lockdown" thread like miscomprehending flies around a dogshit. You would have more chance in reasoning with the fly on a dog poo to be honest.

I just know I have two happier kids back again - it's not "school", it's not ideal - but it's streets ahead of what they've had for months and months and it's social interaction which they needed.

Humans are NOT designed to be hysterically huddling into little painted boxes of 2m magical goodness for any significant length of time.

countrygirl99 · 02/06/2020 16:50

My jaw locked like that years ago, and it was over Christmas 😔. If I remember correctly my GP told me to take sudafed. I can't remember why and it was years ago so my memory could be wonky. It definitely wasn't something you would expect though.

Blobby10 · 02/06/2020 16:55

Although I've been (internally) scornful of all the fuss surrounding lockdown , today, even though I've been working on my own in my office full time since 10th April I REALLY want it to carry on - today there is a bloody traffic jam outside! It's going to take me AGES to get out onto the road to get home and I've got used to just driving out and getting home in 25 minutes Grin Grin

Bring back lockdown!! 🤣🤣🤣

Pinkflipflop85 · 02/06/2020 17:12

I have terrible problems with my jaw from constant teeth clenching (made worse by lockdown). Dentist has suggested botox so that I cant clench them. Just cant afford it right now!

DS had his first day back today. The excitement was unreal and he hasn't stopped talking about it since he got home. He particularly enjoyed having his very own desk because it meant there was nobody to bother him when he was doing work!

Allflightscancelled · 02/06/2020 17:14

@shodan

Little victories Grin

Bollss · 02/06/2020 17:15

@countrygirl99 ooh I'll give it a whirl. Can't hurt can it!

HauntedGoatFart · 02/06/2020 17:40

In need of a new thread soon!

I've had a blah day. Dementoring on school WhatsApp has continued and very few other people have confirmed theirs are going back, but I'm reminding myself there will be enough for a group and that's what matters. PILs are wavering about seeing us and the children. Unfortunately my SIL is a Dementor and not very mathematically literate and is bending my MIL's ear about how irresponsible it is to see anyone at all blah blah.

justasking111 · 02/06/2020 18:06

Talking of dementors a friend on instagram put up a black square this morning. I was puzzled then so asked her. Well apparently she was pressured into it as an influencer she has a lot of followers. She was basically told by many followers if she did not put up the black square she did not think black lives mattered. She quietly checked with other people in the influencer world they had all been told, some nastily by trolls to put it up or else.

I was stunned people leveraging big companies to do something they may or may not agree to by threatening them, this is not just in the UK but worldwide today. She showed me that some companies had not been quick enough off the mark, furloughed perhaps so had a world of abuse thrown at them. Oh and putting black lives matter instead of black out Tuesday was not the right way to do it so they got abuse for that.

Allflightscancelled · 02/06/2020 18:11
Sad
Bollss · 02/06/2020 18:32

I saw a lot of that on Instagram. And a lot of aggressive comments about hash tags.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 02/06/2020 18:36

Wales is finally blessing us with its views www.walesonline.co.uk/news/education/options-table-re-opening-schools-18349540

MinesaPinot · 02/06/2020 18:38

We’ve just been round to friends and had a absolutely joyous few hours in their garden drinking wine and having a chat. DH has just said how wonderful it was and how much better he feels. They are coming to us on Saturday for drinks and a takeaway. So much better for MH.

MagdaS · 02/06/2020 18:39

We need a new thread!

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 02/06/2020 18:43

Ooh nearly finished the thread! I've been out murdering all day at the beach - nearly a two hour drive do definitely not staying local. Swam in the sea, got terrible sun burn, DD swam in the sea for the first time. Amazing.

justasking111 · 02/06/2020 18:55

Ridcully well the welsh teachers overwhelmingly do not want to go back the unions have said. I scrolled down to comments not helpful either they are all doom and gloom.

BarkandCheese · 02/06/2020 18:55

I thought it was probably my turn, so here’s the new Fred
