I'm absolutely fine but sometimes when things get a bit much I need to have a cry to let some sad feelings out. Has anyone got any ideas of (shortish) things I can watch to make me have a little weep ocassionally?

The news?

or West Side Story

I normally only cry at films or TV series where I've had time to get invested in the characters so I haven't got many ideas about "quick fix" solutions. DIY SOS has made me blub before, though, and I cried at the zebra being put down on some animal programme on Monday!

Re-watching Dr Greene's death on ER (it's on YouTube) is a surefire way to set me off, but only because I watched the whole series when I was younger and became so invested in the storyline and the character - I doubt it'll work of you go to it without the background knowledge!

‘Truly, Madly, Deeply’ with Juliette Stevenson and Alan Rickman makes me properly sob every time. Her portrayal of grief is heartbreaking. I bought it on DVD a few of years back, so I think it’s still available.

The weepiest film of all time.

Streetcat Bob. I cried 3 times reading the book and more during the film. If you dislike cats then might not work for you.

NickMyLipple · 27/05/2020 07:34

Lion is my go-to crying film. I also find that video's of people giving birth make me cry!

Janaih · 27/05/2020 07:34

Oh and Angela's Ashes.

Lion king 🙈

EnoughAlready2020 · 27/05/2020 07:38

Definitely Beaches. I sob like a baby when watching that film!

Nosleepninja · 27/05/2020 07:39

As a single parent to a small boy, A monster calls made me sob big gulping sobs in the cinema, and now I can’t put it on past the first 15 mins!

Binterested · 27/05/2020 07:40

Kramer vs Kramer
Steel Magnolias
Railway Children

Letthemysterybe · 27/05/2020 07:41

For a ‘quick fix’ cry I’d watch the homecoming videos that pop up on my Facebook feed. Cheesy American pro military stuff, and totally not my thing at all, but I can’t help but cry at the children crying ‘daddy I missed you’ .

Barkingfuckingdogs · 27/05/2020 07:41

First 10 minutes of Up.

TeenPlusTwenties · 27/05/2020 07:46

Guaranteed to have you bawling 😭

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 27/05/2020 07:47

Mask - wept through the entire thing

MonsteraCheeseplant · 27/05/2020 07:50

The documentary about Glen Campbell called "I'll be me". Or you can skip straight to the tear jerking song of his called "I'm not gonna miss you". If you have any loved ones with Dementia, you'll cry.

WoWsers16 · 27/05/2020 07:51

Beaches xx

RoLaren · 27/05/2020 07:51

Life is Beautiful, just heartbreaking.
The ending of The Railway Children.
Animal rescue videos.
Random acts of kindness videos.

Whylurkwhenicanjoinin · 27/05/2020 07:57

Obvious one, The Green Mile

Or District 9 for something different, I sobbed
