I'm absolutely fine but sometimes when things get a bit much I need to have a cry to let some sad feelings out. Has anyone got any ideas of (shortish) things I can watch to make me have a little weep ocassionally?

To cry in under 5 mins watch Facebook videos by The Dodo on their page. It's all rescue videos of abandoned dogs cats etc in a terrible state, rescued, washed, shaved etc and rehomed at the end when they are all bouncy and happy, usually with sad then uplifting music. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

The Notebook. Guarantee you will sob your heart out🥺. Or the movie Champ. The one with Ricky Shroder as a kid and Jon Bought is his dad who's a.boxer. It's years old but I dare anyone not to watch the last 10 minutes and not absolutely bawl. I watched it years ago and cried so much. I 'tested' myself again last year and yup. BAWLED😭😭.

Jack and Sarah perfect combo of achingly sad / tragic beginning then lighthearted and funny rest of the film

Agree, beginning of Up.

Octopus37 · 27/05/2020 10:11

The Mummyfesto by Linda Green, I got this out of the library just before lockdown and read forward a bit in the book to when the Mum's little boy Oscar dies, its when she tells him 'Thanks for being our little boy, you have brought us nothing but joy'. I'm not sure why but its making me cry just typing it, I have had to hide the book at home until the libraries reopen

Octopus37 · 27/05/2020 10:12

O, also Marley and Me, I remember watching it on a flight to New York and sobbing, but I don't even like dogs. This has changed, I am now a very happy dog owner, not cause of the film.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 27/05/2020 10:15

Yep. The film Lion has me crying most of the way through!

Helmlover1 · 27/05/2020 10:44

I also recommend Lion. It would take one stone cold heart not to cry at that film.
