Something just moved in my stomach..

I’ve name changed for this.

Something literally just rolled in my stomach, there was a popping sensation and now I swear I have a bump where I didn’t before. Nothing that strange until I mention that I’ve not had sex since November and I’ve had periods since then. But something is moving in my stomach, and not like trapped wind. I’ll get out for a test first thing, but I surely can’t be that many weeks pregnant and not have had a single symptom till now, surely? Please someone tell me I can’t.

Oh OP. I know this was not what you were expecting but what a happy scary wonderful surprise. If its a girl you could call her Serendipity.

there is nothing you can do right this second. So I would get your son settled and then spend a bit of time rubbing your tummy and seeing if you can notice any more movements. It probably seems very abstract and unreal but that may help to tether you back into reality. Will also help with your stress levels to do some deep breathing and meditation. Your mind must be all over the place. Then as you say in the monring the most important thing is the GP/midwife/booking in depending on what area you are in. Get yourself a scan and reassure yourself that everything is ok. Then the D A D convo I guess. Unless you would want to tell him before hand so you have the support for the scan and the midwife?

Good luck my lovely. I really hope you keep us updated.

Middersweekly · 25/05/2020 19:26

Congratulations OP! I’m sure you’re in shock right now but it will sink in over the next week. I know a number of people this has happened to including the most recent who gave birth in the middle of the night without knowing she was pregnant. She has 2 other children also! Just book in to see a M/W and they’ll get you a very quick scan referral. Obviously the pregnancy is too advanced to give an exact due date but you will be able to work it out from when you last DTD. Good luck 🍀

Jeeperscreepers69 · 25/05/2020 19:29

@Ohshitx. Just go to poundshop now and get a test. They open till 8pm.. If i thought i was pregnant i wouldnt be clarting on name changing and telling a bunch of strangers on internet id be dealing with it asap.

Jeeperscreepers69 · 25/05/2020 19:33

@Aquamarine1029. What does rtfuckingt mean? Call me ignorant but i have no idea what your on about

BrainSurgeon · 25/05/2020 19:33

How are you doing OP, are you slowly getting a bit more used to the idea?
I can only imagine how overwhelmed you must feel....
In terms of how to tell people, I think you should probably start with the GP or midwife, if that's the first time you say it out loud to another adult you can be sure they will be supportive!
After that hopefully you will feel more confident in giving the news to your family and the father....
Best of luck! xx

Instatwat · 25/05/2020 19:33

@Jeeperscreepers69 since you’re giving out advice - if I were YOU, I’d read the whole thread before writing an arsey comment. You look like a right twat now.

lastonetime · 25/05/2020 19:34

@Jeeperscreepers69 they're telling you to read the thread... OP has done a test

thatmakesmehappy · 25/05/2020 19:34

jeepers It means read the thread
She’s done a test and is pregnant, 6 months gone!

Instatwat · 25/05/2020 19:35

P.s. RTFT is ‘read the full thread’

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 25/05/2020 19:35

Jeeperscreepers69 she took a test as soon as she was able to.

You couldn't deal with any aspect of pregnancy at 8pm at night either, so your profound wisdom, that you thought you should impart, after not even bothering to read the ops posts, is bullshit anyway.

CherryStoneTree · 25/05/2020 19:36

@Ohshitx it’s okay to send your friend a message and start the ball rolling he can deal with it at the same time as you, you don’t have to go and confirm and date and scan before he knows, he might want to support you and know as things happen.

BuntyCollocks · 25/05/2020 19:37

@Jeeperscreepers69 it means read the fucking thread, OP has got a test, it is positive, she will be having a baby in approx 12 weeks. Hope that helps.

peperethecat · 25/05/2020 19:39

Is anybody else wondering how many people could even get to a pound shop within half an hour?

Jeeperscreepers69 · 25/05/2020 19:40

Thanks guys im terrible with technology. No need to be so horrible. I look like a twat etc. Your a really mean bunch on here tonight. Be happy. Be kind.

walkingchuckydoll · 25/05/2020 19:41

If you can read the first post you can read the rest by scrolling down. No need to understand technology.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 25/05/2020 19:41

I could. 10 minutes at a leisurely pace would do it. But possibly not when 6 months gone/all in a tizz.

Think our poundies shuts at 5 - if it had been 8 I would have been buying essential nightshift chocolate...

Lostvoiced · 25/05/2020 19:43

Wow that's a sneaky baby. Shock

I hope congratulations are welcome, but understandably you will feel strange about it!
I knew a girl who didn't find out she was pregnant until almost 6 months, and she was tiny all the way up until the end. It happens.

If you are feeling rushed and overwhelmed about the things you will need, it might be an idea to check Facebook for local mum groups or groups in your area where people give away things they don't need. I got my moses basket completely free that way, and you can always pass the items on if you replace them. That way it's not such a mad dash.

Hope you're able to get a scan soon. Flowers

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 25/05/2020 19:47

RTFT = 'read the full thread'
Hahaha!

MyHeartIsInCornwall · 25/05/2020 19:47

Well, I was not expecting that! Congratulations OP. I’m sure you have a million things whirring around in your head. Hope you find a way to share the news soon. You could really do with the support right now.

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 25/05/2020 19:48

Wow. Congratulations. Sounds like its a shock, but that you are already making plans. One of mine was a surprise but, it turned out to be a blessing too. Wishing you all the very best .

MissJaneLockland · 25/05/2020 19:48

Aquamarine1029. What does rtfuckingt mean? Call me ignorant but i have no idea what your on about

You managed to read that bit 🤣

BuffaloCauliflower · 25/05/2020 19:48

Bless you what a shock. It’s certainly rare but not unheard of. Do you have a workplace you need to inform about maternity leave, because now is the window to do that.
