Something just moved in my stomach..

I’ve name changed for this.

Something literally just rolled in my stomach, there was a popping sensation and now I swear I have a bump where I didn’t before. Nothing that strange until I mention that I’ve not had sex since November and I’ve had periods since then. But something is moving in my stomach, and not like trapped wind. I’ll get out for a test first thing, but I surely can’t be that many weeks pregnant and not have had a single symptom till now, surely? Please someone tell me I can’t.

Gosh op hope you’re ok, what a lot to take onboard in such a short space of time.

Apolloanddaphne · 25/05/2020 14:06

Wow. Congratulations!

BessMarvin · 25/05/2020 14:14

Just read the whole thread which turned into quite a surprise. Congratulations!

Could you be anywhere between 6 and 9 months? What a lot to get your head round.

Congratulations OP. I wish you the very best

IsAnybodyListening · 25/05/2020 14:18

Oh OP. I can imagine the shock.

I have mentioned this on other threads before. I had my first at 18. I was on the pill, a size 8-10 and was due to go to Russia for a acting/ballet tour for a couple of months. Went to the doctor a couple of weeks before I was due to go as I needed a couple of shots. Mentioned how run down I felt (I put it down to all the rehearsals)

Anyway, he must have guessed as he ushered a nurse/midwife in there and then to feel my VERY FLAT stomach, long story short, it turned out I was 20wks gone.

pinkoneblueone · 25/05/2020 14:19

OMG! Congratulations! What a shock to the system. I suppose it’s better to find out now rather than a couple of months down the line.

Rockbird · 25/05/2020 14:19

Blimey wasn't expecting that update! Congratulations, I hope. Flowers

SquigglePigs · 25/05/2020 14:21

Some combination of congratulations, good luck and best wishes. Hope the Dad doesn't freak out on you.

AdalindMeisner · 25/05/2020 14:24

I had that sensation about 4 months after having my last child (second very large baby) and it turns out it was the muscles that hold everything together basically deciding everything was just too much! The feeling was like something just popping (rather dramatically I might add) I now have a rather fetching 'step' on my abdomen (sat on the lowest ribs) - it looks like someone stuck a swimming noodle across me!

Redcrayons · 25/05/2020 14:27

Oh wow, this is not the thread update I was expecting. Congratulations, what a shock.

QQQQQQ123 · 25/05/2020 14:27

What a shock for you!

LockedInMadness · 25/05/2020 14:40

Wow that's unbelievable.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 25/05/2020 14:40

The trouble with this situation is trying to persuade people that you didn't have a clue.

I'd been sceptical - until it happened to a very good friend of mine!

Find your local community midwifery unit's number and give them a call. They'll sort you out.

Roomba · 25/05/2020 14:40

I didn't exactly have a suprise baby but the timeline was - pregnancy test due to weird fluttery feelings and dr google, midwife said I was around 16 weeks and booked a '12 week' scan. 2 weeks later scan confirmed I was 21 weeks pregnant, 7 weeks later I gave birth at 28 weeks having only told people about 3 weeks earlier grin. It happens!

I had a similar experience, but was told I was approx 33 weeks at my scan! My midwife and her trainee were passing by as I came out - they were as gobsmacked as me and refused to believe they could have been so far out at first Grin. Gave birth 3 weeks later, so it was a bit of a rush to get things organised!

I hope you OP and can get the support you need Thanks

HauntedGoatFart · 25/05/2020 14:41

Crikey OP. What a shock. I hope you're OK. Do you have DC already?

GreenTeaMug · 25/05/2020 14:41

OMG I am so envious.

48 here, and no chance for further surprises How I wish.....

Congrats OP. Thanks

spiderlight · 25/05/2020 14:44

Oh my goodness! Congratulations!

3isthemagicnumber3 · 25/05/2020 14:45

I think you would have felt movement before if it were a baby. You would be about 30 weeks so any baby would be quite big by now
