WorraLiberty · 23/05/2020 16:21

Yes definitely.

ArbitraryNameChange · 23/05/2020 16:22

100% yes

Tryingtoslim · 23/05/2020 16:24

Thankyou for your responses. I was thinking about it as we are in lockdown at the moment to protect the vulnerable and that is-widely- accepted. However nothing on the whole - I know some clinics have rules regarding protesting- protect people when most are at their most vulnerable In regards to abortion.

Yes
Without question

anotheronebitesthecrust · 23/05/2020 16:26

Absolutely

TattiePants · 23/05/2020 16:27

Absolutely

ScarfLadysBag · 23/05/2020 16:28

Yes. It's nothing to do with free speech. It's threatening, harassing behaviour and should be a breach of the peace as it causes fear and alarm.

plunkplunkfizz · 23/05/2020 16:29

Yes. There is a long running campaign against this that has had some success. I would have an exclusion zone preventing all loitering then a wider one preventing protesting and leafleting.

winterinmadeira · 23/05/2020 16:31

Totally

stellabelle · 23/05/2020 16:32

It is appalling that they are still allowed to harrass women who are going to have a legal medical procedure. In Australia it has been law for 12 months, that these people cannot come within 150 metres of an abortion clinic - this should be the law everywhere.

ladygracie · 23/05/2020 16:32

Yes.

MidnightHangingTree · 23/05/2020 16:34

Yes definitely. Harassing people doing something perfectly legal is not right.

Gilead · 23/05/2020 16:35

Yes

KKSlider · 23/05/2020 16:36

Yea

SailingAwayIntoSunrise · 23/05/2020 16:37

Yes

MrsSpenserGregson · 23/05/2020 16:39

Yes.

It's harassment of women. Specifically because of their sex.

I've never heard of protesters outside a vasectomy clinic.

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/05/2020 16:40

Unequivocally. It is disgusting they are allowed around women going through a medical procedure some of whom will have been raped or have to abort for medical reasons.

ChocolatelyAsFuck · 23/05/2020 16:40

Yes.

If they genuinely care about reducing the abortion rate there’s lots of things they could pour their energy into that would have a real practical impact on reducing the number of abortions. Things like advocating for better sex education in schools, or setting up free sexual health clinics especially in low income areas. Fundraising for charities who provide free contraceptive advice for vulnerable woman. Lobbying government to take action the criminal justice system’s woeful record of handling rape cases. Raising awareness of coercive sex and reproductive control. Lobbying for better legislation for things like paid maternity leave, or childcare. Volunteering for domestic violence charities.

Realistically the only two ways to reduce abortion rates are 1. reduce the number of women getting pregnant who don’t want to be and 2. help support pregnant women who might want a baby but feel it’s not safe or practical to have one.

Funny how pro-lifers never do any of that, and are usually against sex education, contraception, and support for single mothers.

Samtsirch · 23/05/2020 16:41

Yes.
It beggars belief that there’s no such law in place already.

endofthelinefinally · 23/05/2020 16:42

I would only take these people seriously if they were promising to undertake the care, parenting and financial support, for 18 years minimum, of every child born as a result of their targeted women changing their minds.
Unless and until they do that, I have no time for them.

AlwaysAnEmptySpace · 23/05/2020 16:42

I find abortion a very uncomfortable topic but it has to always be a woman’s choice as to whether she goes through with a pregnancy. I’ve never understood how these protestors are allowed to stand right outside and harass people. So yes, I’d would agree with a law to ban them doing it.

GoulashSoup · 23/05/2020 16:42

Absolutely, it is neither the time nor the place for that argument/discussion. Whatever your beliefs to harass women in such vulnerable and traumatic situation shows a complete lack of compassion.

HK92 · 23/05/2020 16:43

Yes!!!

Cosmosgrowinmygarden · 23/05/2020 16:43

Yes. Is there a petition? If so, where can I find it please?
