Absolutely.

aModernClassic · 23/05/2020 18:11

Yes

ElectricTonight · 23/05/2020 18:12

It's a Yes from me.

Ginfordinner · 23/05/2020 18:15

Harassing women is not a "right" to be exercised.

Oh, well said @JackiFazaki

Soontobe60 · 23/05/2020 18:15

I'm fully in support of a woman's right to choose termination for any reason, but I'm also in two minds about curtailing people's right to protest within the bounds of the law.
Personally, I can't see why we have abortion clinics per se. Why is it not possible for women to access medical abortions via their GP surgery? What are the protestors going to do then? Stand outside every GP surgery? Making women go to a separate clinic possibly having to run the gamut of hateful protests is almost like saying it's a dirty secret you should be ashamed of. Personally I look forward to the day when obtaining an abortion is not stigmatised.

goatley · 23/05/2020 18:16

Yes.

Gingernaut · 23/05/2020 18:16

Yes

Hoohaahoo · 23/05/2020 18:17

I’m not sure. I’m definitely pro choice but I also think people have a right to their opinion, and should be allowed to protest for what they believe in.

Is it a problem in the U.K.? I thought it was more America that this sort of thing happens.

Bluewater1 · 23/05/2020 18:19

Absolutely 100%

MooseBreath · 23/05/2020 18:24

Yes. Protests are fine (though I certainly wouldn't partake as I disagree with the cause), but should not be held where vulnerable women are going to have a perfectly legal medical procedure done, often for reasons including rape, severe illness, and late miscarriage.

TARSCOUT · 23/05/2020 18:24

Yes, absolutely.
I can see there is a right to protest, however the choice to abort does not affect society as a whole.

Spudlet · 23/05/2020 18:26

Yes. Protests can take place away from where potentially vulnerable women and girls are accessing essential healthcare, often in extremely emotional and challenging circumstances.

WhenItIsOver · 23/05/2020 18:32

Yes, most certainly.

Bookridden · 23/05/2020 18:33

Yes.

VettiyaIruken · 23/05/2020 18:34

Absolutely.
It is harassment and vile bullying and has no place outside a clinic.

Bamboo15 · 23/05/2020 18:35

Yes of course - who wouldn’t??

TheRedShoes75 · 23/05/2020 18:36

Absolutely without a second’s hesitation

0blio · 23/05/2020 18:38

Yes, definitely.

Chrisinthemorning · 23/05/2020 18:38

Having had a tfmr of a wanted baby at Marie Stopes, I think they should be arrested.

cakeandchampagne · 23/05/2020 18:39

Yes.

mbosnz · 23/05/2020 18:41

Oh, and I'm another that went as a support person, heavily pregnant myself, to a young person that was getting a termination. So I was the one targeted. If you've ever been on the receiving end of that misogynistic bullshit, you most probably have quite strong feelings about it.

endofthelinefinally · 23/05/2020 18:41

I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks. I had to go into hospital for ERPC. I was already distraught. Gangs of protesters would have tipped me over the edge. They shouldn't be allowed anywhere near medical establishments.

Queenoftheashes · 23/05/2020 18:44

Yes and the only forced birther I know is pro death penalty.
They can go and protest at parliament but they won’t because they’re interesting in harassing and intimidating vulnerable women only. These people make me so angry I could vomit.

hairypaws · 23/05/2020 18:49

Absolutely

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/05/2020 18:49

Yes

definitely most NHS trusts have cut contraceptive services particularly vasectomies, so there will be more unwanted pregnancies.

I know if my contraceptive failed I would have an abortion even though it would be emotionally very difficult being confronted by protesters would make it that much worse.
