Can share why if you want or just share the song name. Or add a link so we can listen.

Attended an online funeral today and they played Highland Cathedral and realised it is always one that gets me. I was at this Proms in the Park that's seen on the video and I cried then and cried today when I heard it.

Louis Armstrong's Wonderful World. Played at my beloved Dad's funeral. Had to pull the car over a few months ago when it came on the radio as suddenly couldn't see.

I heard "slipping through my fingers" for the first time recently - my emotional reaction came as complete shock, and I'm not even a parent.

: a beautiful and not so well-known song by Aqua.

The Cat Carol, yes it's a Christmas one. What happens to the cat is incredibly sad, and many people cry hearing it, be warned if you listen! That's why I'm not posting the link, but it's easy to find on youtube, if you dare. Sad

I've just listened to Highland Cathedral - it's really lovely, I'm going to play that on the church organ when I can.

Remember When - Alan Jackson
So You Don't Have To Love Me Any More - Alan Jackson
Bleed Red - Ronnie Dunn

Bit of a country theme going on...

Pickles89 · 23/05/2020 21:31

I went for a walk at dawn the other day, stood on the cliffs and absorbed the view and all the wildlife, and listened to this. It's just so peaceful but kind of powerful too.

Never tear us apart - INXS
Everlong - Foo fighters
Feeling good - Nina Simone
English Rose - The Jam
Wild is the Wind - Bowie

@Herpesfreesince03 Same. It really gets me that Snowman and Snowdog song Sad It’s beautiful.

I only heard it for the first time recently, but it’s a song between mother and son in Tarzan. Beautiful 💙

The Armed Man Benedictus a Mass for Peace - Two cellos - composer Karl Jenkins makes me cry

Zisforstripyoss · 23/05/2020 22:51

The hymn How Great Thou Art. Reminds me of my dear Nanna who I loved so much and she is no longer with us. I can't even think of it without welling up. It's also very stirring.

Bananalanacake · 23/05/2020 22:51

Mousse T, Horny and Tamperer feat Maya, Feel it. Reminds me of going out to nightclubs, no kids and not a care in the world.

FthisS · 23/05/2020 22:53

The baby - Blake Shelton. Oh my goodness it makes me cry.
Give my love to Rose - Johnny Cash

FthisS · 23/05/2020 22:55

@Zisforstripyoss my Dad had that played at his funeral, it's beautiful but makes me so sad.

Herpesfreesince03 · 23/05/2020 22:56

@VillageFete I only watched it for the first time this year. It came out the year I had my dog put down. Cold plays sky full of stars was playing on the radio when my dog died. I can’t listen to that to this day, and after watching the first 5 minutes of the snow dog after he dies I had to walk out the room. I’m not an emotional person normally, but that song with the memories I have of it just made me sob

Zisforstripyoss · 23/05/2020 23:02

Also +1 for ABBA - Slipping Through My Fingers, Stormzy - Blinded by Your Grace and Coldplay - The Scientist.

Also Never Went to Church by The Streets, it's so raw and honest and it's the line near the end "you left me behind to remind me of you" that just breaks me.

FarquarKumquatsmama · 23/05/2020 23:05

The power of love, extended version by frAnkie goes To Hollywood. Just perfect for a wedding or a funeral or anything. But makes me sob 😭

Designerenvy · 23/05/2020 23:06
