thenightsky · 17/05/2020 22:27

“ Just horrified by those not looking at the science”

The trouble is, the scientists don’t make sense.
Jenny Wotsit getting worried in case children share pencils?

Telling people to decide which household they belong to if they dare to have a boyfriend?

I’m left wondering WTAF happened to science.

Wishfulthinking1977 · 17/05/2020 22:30

@Cheekychops73 thank you again, just got off of a facetime with my daughter as her 4 month old won't stop crying! In normal circumstances I would tell her to bring him down tomorrow and I would let her sleep! She is in bits and I can't help her! Unfortunately I live in a small town with small town mentality! X

ilovecardigans · 17/05/2020 22:30

@Mascotte

'Eff off we're shut'? Charming. He's a fud anaw.

ilovecardigans · 17/05/2020 22:32

@littlbrowndog Bahahaaaaa! 🤣

MaxNormal · 17/05/2020 22:32

LilacTree1 I had no idea exercise classes were back for real. I'm in bonnie Scotland where officially we're still in Full Lockdown. Technically we're breaking the rules when we drive for a walk still I think, but stuff it, my yomp round a country park is a lovely bi-weekly treat.

RunningNinja79 · 17/05/2020 22:33

I saw that thread about moving up north. I was going to say that they wouldn't want to live up here. We're all married to our cousins. Couldn't be bothered to read it all and didn't want to repeat anything.

We tend to go to Boyes in Darlo if we go to one. Might be tempted to go to Richmond and do the Easby loop at the weekend. Its been a while since I had a nice potter around there. As I live in the country I decided it was just easier to stay here. Its bank holiday on Monday next week I think DD2 (and maybe another child) would love to do that.

Nihiloxica · 17/05/2020 22:33

TheGreatWave - me too! Except then I realisrf6the edges were sharp.

More Party Glass than Sea Glass.

LilacTree1 · 17/05/2020 22:36

Does Scotland have any hope, what’s the next official review date?

I can’t believe what you are battling up there.

LilacTree1 · 17/05/2020 22:36

I have a feeling my account will be suspended any minute so don’t be alarmed if I disappear btw.

OnItCarBonnet · 17/05/2020 22:36

Greetings fellow sane people!

Dowser · 17/05/2020 22:42

Cooplands was open too, I think it might be serving hot drinks
Take a flask just in case
My friend lives near Richmond
He’s posted pictures of amazing walks
Picnic tables were open in the applegarth ..benches were taped up..go figures
What a load of old arse!

TheKrakening3 · 17/05/2020 22:42

Hello killers of nurses, teachers and the unborn!

BogRollBOGOF · 17/05/2020 22:42

I thought it would be better for children to have their own pencil cases etc sò they weren't sharing.

It's a moot point at present as DS is y4, but he has particular pencils/ crayons with grips and special scissors because of his dyspraxia. Class standard ones hurt his hands within a couple of minutes. Presumably "reasonable adaptions" would come into play there because it is specifically his for his SNs, and they don't get shared anyway.

We went out walking today. We decided to stay local as there was too much chance of a mass exodus to the county's more famed beauty spots. The trail nearby which suddenly filled up and became very popular for the last two months was suddenly deserted, so my suspicion was probably right. Apparently Matlock Bath has just had its population decimated by hoardes of bikers Grin

Dowser · 17/05/2020 22:43

My dil who lives near york said it’s deathly in the city.
Hardly anyone about.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 17/05/2020 22:44

Cooplands is open in my town. Ds1’s favourite food is the 4 for a pound sausage rolls, so that’s been nice.

Dowser · 17/05/2020 22:45

I passed a load of bikers...doing their daily exercise..yeah right 😂
Same as I was in the car.👍

Dowser · 17/05/2020 22:47

Thorp per row is open to season ticket holders and locals
I’m not in that category sadly
Might be open now
The birds are fantastic..well worth a visit.

Dowser · 17/05/2020 22:48

Hamster ley Forest is supposed to be opening soon.

DrearyWallAntler · 17/05/2020 22:48

We were supposed to go to York for our wedding anniversary at the end of March. First ever kid free holiday in 6 years.

Then a fucking pandemic hit.

Anyhow. Checked in for this thread although I am trying to avoid all media now as I found muself disappearing into little spirals.

LilacTree1 · 17/05/2020 22:48

Dowser - so for people who live near, a nice chance to take pictures?

My godchildren are up there. The teen is so depressed, we’re really worried about her but there’s no much point talking to her as I’ll probably make it worse.

This clip is just about summing it up for kids....

maria860 · 17/05/2020 22:49

Why is it ok for posters on these boards to keep calling children germ ridden super spreaders! It boils my piss to put it mildly it's so rude.
Sorry for swearing but I'm so sick of hearing it. Confused

RunningNinja79 · 17/05/2020 22:50

Yes I heard about Hamsterley. Its a regular walk for our family.

Originally from York. I've seen videos of foxes in the center. There wont be anyone in the city as its usually tourists and hen/stag do's. With tourist places closed there wont be anywhere to go.

Dowser · 17/05/2020 22:50

Lilac..do you mean Thorpe perrow
Where are the children based?
