@ilovecardigans you have cliffs?! I miss cliffs. That's a moving to East Anglia thing though.

No beach nearby, so I shall be setting up my picnic by the river.

Next week is looking very sociable- meeting friends with DS on Monday and Saturday, riverside drink with friend on Tuesday.

GeraltOfRivia · 17/05/2020 21:12

I'm upset tonight. A Facebook friend teacher is on a conspiracy theory about them using schools as an experiment essentially all because Eton aren't going back. Apparently we just don't know the risk.

I do. The stats are there. And my kids are both struggling and need school. She has no kids at home, it's ok for her.

Anyway. Fuck "em all. I have gin.

LilacTree1 · 17/05/2020 21:12

I had a post deleted on another thread and a poster made reference to this thread.

Is that a thread about a thread? 😂

Coach yes, I understand. I’ve had a neighbor talk me down from the ledge once, and I’ve managed to do it myself once.

I am so grateful to that neighbour. She’s going to work, having friends round etc etc. She made me feel like the world is actually not that abnormal.

GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 17/05/2020 21:14

Knickers

Drivingdownthe101 · 17/05/2020 21:14

Eton aren’t going back because they’re a fucking boarding school. How on earth can they socially distance when they share bedrooms and showers?! They are also a secondary school with excellent online provision, meaning their children are not missing out on their education. Unlike a lot of state educated children.

LilacTree1 · 17/05/2020 21:15

Geralt really, screw that

Mascotte · 17/05/2020 21:15

Waves to fellow inmate @Cheekychops73

I to am fed up of this disingenuous bollocks from NS et al and the cult like devotion from the nationalist followers on sm. it's all so illogical!

And visit Scotland declaring Scotland closed...

Yeah. Another friend on the back burner. I pointed out what the state school provides (she should well know) and that Eton is private and all those students will have facilities to learn well at home and an institution with the resources it needs. Bah.

heroku · 17/05/2020 21:18

@GoldenOmber you're absolutely right. I have to admit I do have slight economy-Dementor tendencies and I have to keep reminding myself to get a grip and stop with the doom and gloom. Someone please tell me to shut up if I start doing it on here.

Tonii1985 · 17/05/2020 21:20

Hello friends. Great to be here.
Thanks to you and the two glasses of pinot blush I've just had, I'm feeling slightly more upbeat than I was this morning.

Cheekychops73 · 17/05/2020 21:22

@Mascotte it's a bloody joke we will have them relaxed in the next day or two it's all just for fucking show and its pissing me off how she's being lauded as a great leader etc; the country was on it arses before all this and it's in a worse state now. Everything that was being tightly squeezed is going to get even more squeezed now but if you say anything you must be a tory loving nurse hater honest to gos not a brain cell between them all.

highmarkingsnowmobile · 17/05/2020 21:22

Can I just say, that 'FUD' is one of the best Scottish terms ever.

Cheekychops73 · 17/05/2020 21:24

@highmarkingsnowmobile I know Grin I felt it was appropriate she is.

Shodan · 17/05/2020 21:28

Good evening all.

Had a splendid walk with my best friend today. Fortunately she is of a
similar mindset to me and we merrily rolled our eyes at all Dementors.

Plus, we saw goslings, Egyptian goslings ( that's what we were told they were anyway), baby coots (cootlings??), ducklings AND very happy deer sploshing in and out of the pond.

Twas a very satisfactory couple of hours.

ilovecardigans · 17/05/2020 21:32

@MinnieMountain - oh boy do we ever! This is going north:

This is heading south:

Lots of hidden caves and secluded coves. And plenty of room for all - come and visit! Smile

littlbrowndog · 17/05/2020 21:32

A fud yeah it’s great

Mascotte · 17/05/2020 21:32

littlbrowndog · 17/05/2020 21:34

August for schools FFS GAWD

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/05/2020 21:34

Hello fellow murderers! I’ve had a pretty good weekend until this evening. We’ve planted the pots in the front and back garden (plants ordered before I knew the garden centres were reopening so they were delivered on Friday), I’ve made my first cake since I left school 29 years ago and I pumped the tyres up on my bike ready to start cycling again. I also managed a short ride without falling off!

It all went downhill this evening though when I completely lost it about my cat having an anaesthetic on Tuesday for a dental. He’s 15 and I’m currently convinced I’ve signed his death warrant. For some reason it’s also brought back memories of telling the doctor to withdraw treatment for my Mum and I have no idea why.

Sorry for being miserable again

Mascotte · 17/05/2020 21:37

@PinkSparklyPussyCat deep breaths... it's a weird trigger, but he'll be fine. It's so awful when pets are ill.. I'm reassuring to you but was a sobbing mess about my dog at the vet recently.. 😳

Mascotte · 17/05/2020 21:37

@littlbrowndog is that official now?

OP posts:
Cheekychops73 · 17/05/2020 21:37

@Mascotte I personally think they should be back ASAP my 5 year old is desperately missing his friends with such a big gap between him and his brothers its hard on them. I would also like him to see this virus isn't the big bad wolf and you can see people without being nervous. If these protective bubbles are introduced I would be happy with that. I don't feel the kids are guinea pigs at all and I find it dreadfully sad that people seem to think the wee ones don't matter some kids aren't that lucky and need school for many things amongst them safety and care. I think though she's gonna leave it to August for re opening just because she can and it's what the screaming lockdown lovers want and that gets votes. What do you think?

Mascotte · 17/05/2020 21:38

I mean schools, not that she's a fud

Placemarking! Hello! I look forward to this thread filling up just as quickly as the last few. There are more and more of us.

I really need to get my act together and go for a really lovely long walk this week - several hours long, I think. There will need to be a picnic in the middle of it. And maybe even a dip in the river. Naked if no one is about Wink Life is short and I plan on having some fun.
