About 35

SunnySomer · 08/05/2020 19:14

About 45. Completely there now I’m 50.

Thighdentitycrisis · 08/05/2020 19:16

49 or 50

Babdoc · 08/05/2020 19:17

Just never bothered with hair dye. Started greying in my early 40’s. As a doctor, being grey haired gave me more credibility with patients!
I’m now in my 60’s and my hair is totally silver. I like it better than my old flat brown, actually- it catches the light and goes with any colour of clothing.

donquixotedelamancha · 08/05/2020 19:18

I'm 40 and going grey now. I won't be dying it.

Lifesbetterwithwine · 08/05/2020 19:19

Stopped dyeing my hair at 48. Am now 50 and so thankful that I haven’t got to bother with roots during lockdown!Grin

Sexnotgender · 08/05/2020 19:20

I’m 38 and beginning to get the odd grey here and there. I’m planning to just leave it.

Saz42 · 08/05/2020 19:21

I started going grey at 19, and im in my 40s now. Very gradual and I still have a lot of brown hair. I get highlights so it all sort of blends. I would rather be completely grey to be honest.

ShanghaiDiva · 08/05/2020 19:22

Did not dye it for 4 months and then had a mega short cut with most of the hair shaved off.

gerbo · 08/05/2020 19:22

I'm 43 and greying around sides of my face/ears. Haven't dyed and I'm hoping not to at all. Quite like the idea of grey at the moment! Whether it will last or not, we'll see.

Scruffyoak · 08/05/2020 19:24
  1. Just left it now x
Flymetothetoon · 08/05/2020 19:24

I got my first greys at 25 - decided to ditch the blonde dye 5 years ago at 49 and I now have a glorious silver fox head of hair that strangers assume I pay a fortune at the hairdresser for 😃

bonzo77 · 08/05/2020 19:26

First greys in my late teens. Coloured till I was about 35 I think. Now 42.

Kittykatmacbill · 08/05/2020 19:35

Never dyed it after stoping highlighting it at 30. Now 40 noticeably silvery and it’s quite nice. Motivation I dislike notably box dyed hair and roots coming through and I have fast growing hair so couldn’t ever afford to have it done regular my enough to look good!

wowfudge · 08/05/2020 19:38

I grew out the dye in my mid 40s with my hairdresser's help - it never looked terrible thankfully. My hair grows quickly so I am glad I longer have to worry about doing the roots every three weeks. My natural colour was very dark.

StillMedusa · 08/05/2020 19:48
  1. Now 52 and it's salt and pepper with white streaks at the front but still all dark at the back. And long..and in severe need of a good trim! I got fed up of roots reappearing within a couple of weeks and also the itch/burn of the dye (suspect I was becoming allergic)

Occasionally I have a wobble and consider dying it, but I won't.. the freedom from roots plus healthier hair, is worth it! (and anyway I'm a bit of an aged hippy to look at so it sort of suits me!)

Seeingadistance · 08/05/2020 19:48

47 - 5 years ago. I love my hair undyed - looks much better and condition is fab.

sonjadog · 08/05/2020 19:50

I grew mine out when I was about 38, I think. It took several years before all the dye was gone. It looked worst for the first few months where you have a really clear line on top of your head. As it got longer the line was less clear and it looked better. I think a lot of people who start growing it out and then go back to dyeing never get past the first terrible looking months.

I think on reflection I could have kept dyeing my hair for a few more years. I felt I was a bit young to have grey hair when it was all grown out but I wasn't prepared to start dyeing again and have to go through the whole process again. Now I am in my mid-forties, I feel my grey hair suits me better.

Darnley · 08/05/2020 19:52

Mine has been greying since I was a teenager, and is now a fabulous silver, after many many years of colouring it.... I love it...
Although, as I’m growing old disgracefully, these days it’s usually pink or turquoise.

BlessYourCottonSocks · 08/05/2020 19:53
  1. Got tired of keeping up with it - and the roots were white looking. I stopped dyeing it in about Feb and then went to hairdressers at beginning of summer holidays and just had a pixie cut. It was brilliant - almost all white by then.

Best thing I ever did.

mizu · 08/05/2020 19:56

I'm 47 and tempted from now.........usually just use a box dye for roots and it looks very natural I'm told but it is very freeing to not do it. Been 2 months now.

IggyAce · 08/05/2020 20:01

2 weeks after my 40th birthday, it’s been nearly 2 years now and I love my hair.

Opticabbage · 08/05/2020 20:04

34 and considering it!

TheThingWithFeathers · 08/05/2020 20:06

I'm 41 and I've never dyed my hair, just couldn't be bothered with the faff or the expense.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 08/05/2020 20:07

32, stopped getting highlights done. 35 now.
