There are some proper miserable sods on the VE parties threads tonight. Makes me wanto to blow a vuvuzela through their letterboxes.

Makes me wanto to blow a vuvuzela through their letterboxes

Is that a euphemism?

ThatLibraryMiss · 07/05/2020 21:35

Right you lot, this is the bingo list so far. I've consolidated some as they were different ways of saying the same (or a similar) thing. Please bear in mind that there isn't room in the little squares for long sentences.

If there's anything you want to add you have until tomorrow evening before I put them all up for voting.

Stay the fuck at home
Which part of … don’t you understand?
Italy
Spain
Sweden
People will die
Relative works for NHS
I am shielding so you can't go out
No end in sight
Won’t go to work/send kids to school until vaccine available

Is going to/doing … more important than PEOPLE'S LIVES?!
Masks are essential
No non-essential activities
Daily exercise not to exceed 1 hour once a day
If it saves one life it will have been worth …
If everyone did … we’d have bodies in the streets
Try telling that to those who have lost loved ones then
People’s lives are worth more than the economy
Christmas will be cancelled and a good thing too!!!
I haven’t had an official letter but I’m shielding

Sorry, I was being sarcastic (not to anyone on this thread obviously!) - I was on that thread and was called thick and stupid for saying DH bought chocolate when he was doing a shop for milk! We should have gone without as we’ve got a tap...

everythingisginandroses · 07/05/2020 21:35

Oh god, I knew someone would pick that up as soon as I posted it! Blush Grin

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 07/05/2020 21:42

Normal is a very, very long way off

And the new classic -new normal.

Tappering · 07/05/2020 21:53

Clapping here greatly reduced this evening and no fireworks thank God. The poor dogs have been freaking out over the last few weeks.

I confess to printing off some union jack bunting templates and colouring them in, to hang over the front of my fence tomorrow. I don't mind doing that for VE day and it was quite fun - and crucially, my choice to do it! Can't stand those bossy neighbourhood watch sorts who seem to appoint themselves as street president, and then terrorise the neighbours under the guise of community spirit.

LilacTree1 · 07/05/2020 22:08

Just seen a long “explanation” of why sitting on the grass or bench is banned. 🤯

BogRollBOGOF · 07/05/2020 22:10

I love this thread Grin

DH has finally driven his car for the first time since March... He's staying in to avoid peak pollen not Covid, so I took DS2 out on his bike in the afternoon, and DS1 needed a walk and was kicking up a fuss, so I suggested that DH kills two birds with one stone by taking us in his car up to a country pub car park for DS and I to walk back. By the time my family was done with faffing, DH wondered why people were piling onto the streets at 19:00 (he hasn't been in the car since a week before the clocks changed) and we end up driving through our normally dopey neighbourhood like some sort of royal procession of clapping and bunting Grin

That could be a total Dementor feast (or is it flagellation?) Use of a car (short drives relative to the walk are reasonable), going to the countryside (we must all pretend we are all holed up in the 18th floor of a London towerblock) and leaving the house for a second time (not legally enforcable, plus DS1 has ASD which was why a seperate activity to DS2, and in the mood he was in, a drop and walk approach was better than walking from home) Does it make any practical difference if DH or I supervise a child? Bonus points for seeing not a single human to murder on the way Wink

Willow2017 · 07/05/2020 22:12

Lilac

Oh God not another one?

Russellbrandshair · 07/05/2020 22:15

what's the obsession with milk, you could have water on your cereal and cheese is mde from milk so you could use grated cheese instead" hence the references to grated cheese on coffee

Grated cheese on cereal? Bloody hell these people are insane! If Neil Ferguson can break lockdown then so can I!

Springersrock · 07/05/2020 22:17

Hardly any clapping here tonight either

The usual twat set his firework off then posted a video of (fuck all as it’s broad bloody day light) it on Facebook.

I’ve been in the loft and fished out some bunting that I made for a royal wedding street party we had. Will hang it up in the morning with gusto

Russellbrandshair · 07/05/2020 22:17

Not sure if it’s bingo worthy but I saw a poster tell someone “do you WANT to see granny bleed out from the ears?!”
Lol that’s Ebola not covid but I guess they thought having a temperature and cough wasn’t dramatic enough so they stole an Ebola symptom!

LilacTree1 · 07/05/2020 22:21

Willow yes

I thought maybe people would calm down about sitting on benches but no....what on earth will happen if these people are asked to return to workplaces?

Willow2017 · 07/05/2020 22:25

Lilac I just read it. Ho hum! Guess I will just KBO, not as if I am planning on licking benches in the near future so I will STAY SAFE !!!!

Dont you know many people are not leaving the house till at least December and then only after a guarenteed vaccine thats ^safe and tested^. Sod the rest of us who have no choice!

Drivingdownthe101 · 07/05/2020 22:25

Which thread is that? I love a hood ‘sitting on park benches kills people’ thread.

Bollss · 07/05/2020 22:26

Ugh I accidentally got out of my car in Aldi car park at the church of the NHS clapping minute.

Clapping in Aldi car park. No. Not a bit of me thank you very glad.

Drivingdownthe101 · 07/05/2020 22:26

Good, not hood!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/05/2020 22:37

I found this little gem on FB the other day. I didn’t comment as I didn’t know where to start!

COULDN'T BE ANY CLEARER !!! ***

Amy decided she would meet her friends, she was bored at home and none of them had symptoms.
She took a card with her to post to her grandfather for his birthday, he’s 78.
She passed the card to Laura to hold, Laura had a bit of a cough but nothing much.
While she was out, her sister, Amanda (a care worker) spotted her and made her get in the car to go home, they posted grandads card on the way.
When she got home, she argued with her mum Elaine. Who was so cross because as a nurse, she needed to trust Amy to do the right thing and be safe.
They hugged and made friends.

15 days later:
Amys’ grandad has started coughing and Amy feels under the weather.
Amanda and Elaine are off work because they are self isolating.
Laura has been really poorly for two weeks and is just starting to get over it but now all her family have it.

21 days later:
Amys’ grandad is critically ill on a ventilator, Amanda has severe symptoms and Elaine is very poorly.
The care home that Amanda works at now has three cases.
Elaines’ ward is struggling because there are at least 3 members of staff self isolating.

28 days later:
Grandad didn’t pull through and can’t have a funeral right now because his family are ill. Amandas’ underlying symptoms mean she has been in hospital for the last few days.
The care home has lost 6 patients, staff numbers are down and cases are rising. Elaines’ ward is still struggling and Elaine still can’t help.
The pharmacist Elaine stopped at on her way home from work has said they have 2 cases.
The people in the queue with Amanda at Aldi are also Ill.

NOW DO YOU GET IT!
Stay home or more people will die.

Copy and paste and share! 😷

Willow2017 · 07/05/2020 22:51

When did Amanda go to Aldi? How do they know it was her in the queue that was the only one with the infection and how do they know that randoms from somewhere all got the virus in Aldi from Amanda? And if everyone in the queue was SD how did they get it from Amanda unless she coughed all over them the grotty woman!

So many questions....

Ok I will tell my work to close tomorrow morning first thing.. Fine by me if they keep paying me. I can handle not working for a while Grin Must stay indoors and stay safe at all costs. (Can someone explin this to my manager please?)

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 07/05/2020 22:51

@PinkSparklyPussyCat Jesus. Where to start indeed.

Apart from the fact that Coronavirus won't stay on the bloody card thing you twunts 🤣

Willow2017 · 07/05/2020 22:51

Really need to go kill more Natzis now Grin

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 07/05/2020 22:51

That long even

TinRoofRusty · 07/05/2020 22:53

I decided to add an extra mile to my walk tomorrow in honour of all those in cities who think you're only allowed 1 hour.
