The portapuzzle recommended upthread looks handy.

I got this one delivered the other day and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into it

We've been doing several, we're on our 4th lockdown puzzle now. I usually like the Disney ravensberger 1000 piece ones, and have a few, but my mum is sending lots of other ones up. We had great fun with a cat yoga one, and are doing kittens in a sweetshop one now.

toomuchlikemyusername · 03/05/2020 13:02

I'm loving all of the pictures of your puzzles.
I've done my first 3D puzzle today. A Ravensburger one. It was an interesting experience, more of a construction kit than a jigsaw. Only took an hour as all of the pieces are numbered and have to be fitted in sequence. I guess it could be made more difficult by doing it without reference to the numbering sequence, but I'll happily admit that I was in for a quick win! Grin

Probably won't rush to do another one but might be useful for days when I want something to do to occupy myself but haven't got the time and focus to invest in a traditional jigsaw.

Finished!

Love the idea of sliding under the sofa! That's genius.
I use a big board for my puzzles but it does get in the way when I'm slow.

Oooh hurrah...I love jigsaw puzzles and usually do them in the winter. However, with lockdown I have been doing more.

appleoftheluck · 03/05/2020 17:39

I’ve just finished this jigsaw, my first one! I really loved doing it.

Is that one of the Colin Thompson Bizarre Bookcases ones apple? Envy They seem to be out of stock everywhere.

MrAlyhakinsMassiveYacht · 04/05/2020 08:17

That's the first bizarre bookcase one. There's loads on ebay but can go for up to £20 Shock

appleoftheluck · 04/05/2020 17:43

I’m not sure, I bought it at a car boot sale for my Mum ages ago, it went around the whole family and then back to me. I’ve passed it on to a neighbour so can’t check the name.

Courtney2020 · 05/05/2020 01:37

Just finished this one never thought I would get it done

I'm going to do some food shopping for my mum today and pick up a couple more puzzles from her as DD and I really enjoyed doing the last two.

Wondering if we should attempt the 2 sided one?

Shoxfordian · 05/05/2020 09:48

I like these 4d through time city ones
We did this new york one earlier this year, you make the underneath first then add all the buildings in order. The london and paris ones were good too

Wankerchief · 05/05/2020 12:19

I love that 4d one but i wouldn't be able to break it up after, too much work went into it!

Shoxfordian · 05/05/2020 15:54

Had to break it up, needed the kitchen table back!

Fi3ldTrip · 05/05/2020 16:13

Where did you get the 4D NYC one and how much was it?Envy I want one!

Shoxfordian · 05/05/2020 16:39

I got it on amazon, put in 4d time puzzle and they should all come up. Says the New York one is out of stock, should be 35 ish, have ordered the rome one. I want the las vegas one but that's not in stock either

Fi3ldTrip · 05/05/2020 16:43

A local toy shop has been doing local delivery and sell a lot of puzzles. Ordered two from there over the last few weeks.... only problem is once I start I just want to finish it, so end up completing them in a few days! First one I did in 24hrs Confused

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 09/05/2020 10:13

My dd just finished this one, really enjoyed doing it and it was slightly trickier given there's not an exact picture to follow.

I got it from Argos (2 puzzles for £15) and collected from a local supermarket when doing my food shop.

My porta puzzle arrived from hobby craft in just under a week so not bad really. I love it!!! We spent 5 hours yesterday in the garden doing an old pub scene that I bought 2nd hand a few months ago.

We're doing one of my daughter's Disney puzzled today!

I also saw that the works are doing the porta puzzle for £20 (it's £30 at Hobby Craft). Not sure what the delivery is like at the moment but it's a bargain price!

bettybattenburg · 09/05/2020 13:50

@RafaIsTheKingOfClay I ordered the Thompson bookshop one which was showing as out of stock until June but it arrived today!

Shame I haven't finished the world map one, we're struggling to finish Russia - we've done the 'stans but not the rest of the federation yet. We are doing it without looking at the picture though!

TammyPushkin · 09/05/2020 13:55

I absolutely love jigsaws. I belong to the British Jigsaw Puzzle Library.
You pay a subscription and they will send you a box with 4 wooden hand cut jigsaws. When you have done three you post them back and they send you another 4, that way you are never without a jigsaw.
You can specify the dimensions that you have space for, and the level of difficulty.
None of the jigsaws come with pictures though. You just get a title and the dimensions.
This is the one I have on the go at the moment.
Unfortunately I think that they are in lockdown at them moment but it is a good ideas for a family Xmas present
