Some bits of humour on our local
Site. Last night some one posted that they had rescued a hamster or gerbil and asked if anyone was missing it. Turned out to be a baby rat, after she showed a picture.

Mine is mostly...

  • What's the queue like at Sainsbury's
  • Helicopter !!
  • Any got any flour?
  • Helicopter (again) !
  • Is this cat lost? It's been hanging outside in my garden all day*
  • Cat actually is always there but person has never noticed as they are usually out at work.
ginghamstarfish · 28/04/2020 14:31

Nothing - I sometimes wonder if the town is still there or everybody's moved away or in hospital. I always knew it was a quiet place but can't believe there's NOTHING there.

Lauren83 · 28/04/2020 14:34

Woman posted saying a lovely kind man with purple hair paid for my shopping yesterday when my card was declined in the co-op (loads of comments about what an amazing man he must be)

30 minutes later... yes that was me but I'm a woman

@Lauren83 😟. I’m sure you’re amazing whatever gender!

@bookmum08 helicopter here most nights, but some people are convinced it’s spraying something!

There is a lot of curtain twitching going on at mine.

Sparklingbrook · 28/04/2020 14:42

It's all very exciting. A coffee shop is reopening and also one of the local chip shops. There is uproar. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 28/04/2020 14:46

In other news someone has lost their swarm of bees, and there's a shouty one about not feeding horses grass cuttings. Sad

Lauren83 · 28/04/2020 14:46

@frankie001 Ah no it wasn't me I just spotted the post! Grin

Elmo230885 · 28/04/2020 14:47

People asking if there is a Chinese takeaway open locally
The escapades of a local Peacock
People making posts mocking those asking about Chinese takeaways

CrazyTeaDrinker · 28/04/2020 14:49

Drones.
Social distancing drama/moaning
Bonfire complaints
Lots of lost dogs
Broadband problems
How month is the queue to supermarket

CrazyTeaDrinker · 28/04/2020 14:50

*long not monthConfused

bookmum08 · 28/04/2020 14:50

frankie001 there is someone about Facebook groups and helicopters. It's like when 3 year olds practically explode with excitement when they see a fire engine but it's normally sane grown ups getting so excited by helicopters.
(they're spraying 5G nano waves over us aren't they?!Grin)

enragedpenfold · 28/04/2020 14:51

Two hours of panic over a live shooter, and four days/ months of bitching about out of towners and second homers. Also one bloke endlessly trying to sell every single item in his home, from oriental art to boxing gloves and used craft equipment. No I don’t want your used paintbrush. Also the ubiquitous updates on the flour and yeast status.

KatnissNeverdone · 28/04/2020 14:51

There was a post on ours about whether someone has lost their deer as she'd seen one running across the road. It was of course a wild one from the local forest which had ventured out while it's quiet.

bookmum08 · 28/04/2020 14:51

Something. Not someone.

Sparklingbrook · 28/04/2020 14:52

There's an awful lot of parcels being delivered to the wrong addresses and people asking if anyone knows a 'Miss/Mr /Mrs (insert name)'. So they can reunite their stuff. Confused

There was a helicopter one yesterday.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 28/04/2020 14:53

Elmo it's possible you live near me... .or peacocks in general are having away days Grin

Clevererthanyou · 28/04/2020 14:53

About 30 people saying “Stay at home, STAY AT HOME!!! Think of the children/nurses/fish/etc”

exLtEveDallas · 28/04/2020 14:56

A local idiot with 1000’s of followers upping his bullying campaign of a neighbouring family by slagging them off for their children having a FSM delivery when they had a Dominoes takeaway previously. He is a horrible man, but people seem to love him.

Outrage at the moment over an independent veg shop selling a brocoli head and 2 parsnips to someone for £5. The comments are hundreds of comments long.
The shop replied slagging off the person who bought it complaining, and then calling another local competitor veg shop owner idiots.
Some people are piling in saying the price is fair. Others are very, very angry and that they're clearly robbing grannies of their pension. Turns out the veg shop doesn't even list the prices of the items in the shop until you get to the till, then asks you for the total amount. Even the owners daughter has got involved!

Very entertaining if I'm honest.

aerosocks · 28/04/2020 15:20

Dunno, it was so dull I hid it. Hang on, I'll go and have a look.

Elmo230885 · 28/04/2020 15:22

Maybe its the dawn of the age of the Peacock
The one round here seems to be some kind of local celebrity

There's also lots of chatter about the local tip and its opening times; and a bit of anger about non locals using the tip!
