Apart from trampoline, what has been your best outdoor toy purchase?

Kids are 5 and 7. Adore their trampoline but what else can I get them for the garden?

Swingball!

NeverTwerkNaked · 08/04/2020 17:05

Good question! Am wondering the same...

Chrisinthemorning · 08/04/2020 17:06

Archery set but will now look for a swing ball!

Sand

Basketball net, full size attached to the back of the house. The DC are forever using it. The 'boink, boink, boink' noise stops pissing you off. Eventually.

Hot tub. They emptied it of water last night, dried it and filled it fairy lights, blankets and hot water bottles and stayed up tling each other ghost stories so it's provedmoremulit functional than the trampoline.

HerRoyalNotness · 08/04/2020 17:08

Yes swing ball. Mostly used by me and DH but really helps get the frustrations out

chickadeee · 08/04/2020 17:08

Sprinkler to put on the end of our hose. Kids play with it for hours.
Plus an archery set.

inwood · 08/04/2020 17:09

Swing set

MinesAPintOfTea · 08/04/2020 17:09

Warehouse is currently shut, but quadro play stuff is great

Sunshineandflipflops · 08/04/2020 17:09

The hosepipe. My dc are 12 and 14 and it still entertains them (when phones/the Xbox/the switch is not allowed)!

Sewingbea · 08/04/2020 17:09

A swing ball. We had one in my mum's garden as it took up little space. Both my DD loved it as did my mum, she could do active play with them whilst stationary as she's a whizz at swingball. Great value toy for the hours of fun we had from it.

zelbazinnamon · 08/04/2020 17:09

Any decent swing ball and archery sets to recommend?

Sunshineandflipflops · 08/04/2020 17:09

And also swing ball. I love it if no-one else!

Changedname78 · 08/04/2020 17:10

Swingball, also I don’t have one but I wish! Table tennis!!

missyB1 · 08/04/2020 17:11

LoLo ball (that was a big hit)
Swingball
Water pistols
Nerf guns

TitsalinaBumSquash · 08/04/2020 17:11

I can't find a chuffing trampoline in stock anywhere.

We have a freestanding boxing bag and I've ordered a giant connect 4, swing ball etc etc. We miss the trampoline though.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 08/04/2020 17:13

Anyone have a pool or hot tub out?

Boules is a good one.

BellaVida · 08/04/2020 17:15

Full-size adjustable height netball post, a netball and a basketball. All of the DC use it daily.

TrophyCat · 08/04/2020 17:15

A hammock

minipie · 08/04/2020 17:19

Climbing frame. We have a small London garden and have a climbing frame that measures about 2.5 x 1.5 m. Similar to this one. Not a cheap option but been worth every penny especially the last few weeks. Mine are same age as yours OP and can’t manage Swingball or netball hoop type things yet.

BikeRunSki · 08/04/2020 17:20

Sandpit.

Was thinking of buying basketball hoop and stand. Also have swingball.

DC are 8 and 11. The trampoline rotes to pieces last summer, and we have not replaced it.

makingmiracles · 08/04/2020 17:21

@TitsalinaBumSquash that’s because we all panic bought them the week before last Blush Grin the website I bought ours off of says back in stock June so it’s worth keeping an eye out or setting up a stock alert. It’s been well worth it so far as they’ve been on it hours at a time every day.

Other great garden “toy” is our bestway pool, kids spend most of the summer in it and it only cos £30, £8 for cover and around £5 for chlorine kit., we put it on old bed covers or cheap tarp so that it’s salvagable every year to store for the next-if you want to re use your pool the following year never put it straight onto the grass as by the end of summer it’ll be ready for the tip!

Other hits, spacehoppers, anything that involves bubbles.

minipie · 08/04/2020 17:23

Oh and very much the other end of price scale. Two squirty spray bottles like you’d use for cleaning products. Used endlessly. Have to be confiscated quite often mind you when it gets out of hand...

BuzzingtheBee · 08/04/2020 17:23

Hot tub
