How long is your daily jaunt outdoors lasting?

I've been taking my 2 kids on a 1 hour bike ride each day - they are 3 and 6 so it's a slow ride but we go round the whole outside of the village once and back in from the back way then straight home. Sometimes we stay in one little area (there's a small green with a circular path in the middle they like to whizz round) - but only for a few minutes and if there's no one else around. My friend thinks this is excessive and it should be 10 minutes max! What is every else doing?

30 minutes to an hour, depending on the weather or the route we take. I have a bouncy autistic teenager to take for walkies before he does for the floorboards.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/04/2020 21:32

1-3 hours. In a local country park that I walk too. Just bought a bike though.

Nettleskeins · 05/04/2020 21:46

An hour walking with dog on lead.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 05/04/2020 21:52

Been in the garden almost all day. My arms are still aching from using the strimmer yesterday. We went to the duck pond and back this evening which took about 20 minutes. We don't do that every day though.

springydaff · 05/04/2020 22:16

About an hour, either walking or cycling. But I fell off my bike the other day, and got blisters when walking because I wore trainers without socks, so I'm feeling a bit wary.

ssd · 05/04/2020 22:18

About an hour.

MondeoFan · 05/04/2020 22:19

30min-1 Hour walking the dog plus a 5 year old

Casino218 · 05/04/2020 22:21

I spent an hour today. That's my plan. 10 minutes is a warm up time not really what you would call exercise!

Doilooklikeatourist · 05/04/2020 22:24

We measured the distance and timed our walk today
2-97 miles and took us an hour ( 59 mins and 53 seconds exactly )
We’re both furloughed , and spend time in the garden as well ( huge garden. No neighbours )

AnneLovesGilbert · 05/04/2020 22:27

An hour a day with baby in the buggy. Uphill a lot of it.

vanillandhoney · 05/04/2020 22:30

An hour everyday with the dog.

Fatted · 05/04/2020 22:31

Between 1-2 hours depending on which direction we head in. There are cycle paths and fields circling around our village, so plenty of places to walk without seeing anyone else.

The days I'm in work, I'm sitting in an office for the better part of 9 hours a day coming into contact with lots of people that have God knows what. I'm much safer in a field for 90 minutes.

TheCatsBlanket · 05/04/2020 22:43

I'm trying to do around 5 miles daily, which so far is taking me about 90 mins

Canshopwillshop · 05/04/2020 22:48

Around an hours walk with the dog every day.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 05/04/2020 22:54

in my local area, I am out (alone) for about 2 hours I think, rural paths and keeping well away from anyone I see. I think if I didn't keep getting lost it would be shorter Grin

morecoffeerequired · 05/04/2020 22:58

20 minute walk today, but I have also been gardening for several hours both yesterday and today, so it was really only to get the aches and knots out of my muscles, and loosen up a bit.

Badoukas · 05/04/2020 22:58

Half hour dog walk.

JunoJigglewick · 05/04/2020 23:00

45-90 minutes. Anything between 2 and 4 miles. Most time spent watching the children climb trees and collect sticks. We also spent a healthy 20 minutes baa-ing at sheep on Friday. Sheep not bothered.

MadisonAvenue · 05/04/2020 23:02

90 minutes walking the dog through woodland, rarely see anyone else.

YgritteSnow · 05/04/2020 23:02

One hour. I go for a run.

rosy71 · 05/04/2020 23:05

About an hour walking . 30-45 minutes if running.

namechangenumber2 · 05/04/2020 23:09

About 30 min walk with the dog

beachbreeze · 05/04/2020 23:11

I don't do daily exercise outside. I don't think it's essential (for me) so I get out for a walk only once in a while. I did my first walk for the sake of it today - it was longer than intended as I miscalculated the distance (was about 1 hr 45). Usually I just do yoga at home, which I have done for nearly a decade anyway. I have a garden, so can get outside.

Yamihere · 05/04/2020 23:13

Between 1 - 3 hours walking and about half an hour exercise inside like sit ups and squats.

BillysMyBunny · 05/04/2020 23:14

Today I went out for about 30 minutes. I didn’t go out yesterday but on Friday it was about 2 hours. I try and avoid busy times and places other people are likely to be, I keep moving and don’t touch anything so to be honest I don’t think it really makes a difference to the risk (to myself or others) whether I’m out for 5 minutes or 5 hours.
