What discontinued food from years ago do you still miss?

What foods that aren’t made anymore do you miss most?
Mine are Sayer’s Devon Whip, Burtons potato puffs and the vinegar and onion wheel crisps that kwik save used to sell. I can’t remember the name but they were in a blue bag with a squirrel on the front. I would stockpile them without a bit of shame!

A chocolate bar that I cant remember the name of, can anyone help? Imagine a shredded wheat but made of chocolate with fondant running through the middle.

Also pacer, pyramints and lasers - a chewy stick. Nom nom nom!

QuacksInTheDark · 29/03/2020 20:41

Chamborcy Hippotamousse!

BiBiBirdie · 29/03/2020 20:44

I loved Supermousse

Also Asda used to do these things called Surfer Burgers, they were lovely, they also used to do breaded goats cheese as well.
Whenever I mention them everyone looks at me like I imagined them

smiffypeabrain · 29/03/2020 20:48

I always had a Texan bar after swimming once a week and my sister and Dad had a Cabana bar.

smiffypeabrain · 29/03/2020 20:51

Oh gosh and that sponge where you poured the sauce on the top, before baking, then the sponge would rise through the sauce while cooking.

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 20:53

Mum used to sometimes get me a Muddy Pigs chocolate bar from Thornton’s. I miss those! They were a flat rectangle, rather than usual chocolate bar dimensions. Brown chocolate but with “oink” written in raised pink letters. All strawberry flavoured. So good.

SisterVanHelsing · 29/03/2020 20:56

Sounds like a Secret bar RoLaren, I loved those too.

M&S Deltas crisps would be my choice.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/03/2020 20:59

Cadbury Swiss Gateau and Pyramint.

GuyFawkesDay · 29/03/2020 21:03

Highland Toffee
Ice magic
Some crisps that were animal shaped. Called Farmer something's. Farmer Browns I think? Bag was blue. They were lush.
Proper dirty Skips

Happiedays · 29/03/2020 21:10

Turkey twizzlers! Still can't bring myself to like Jamie Oliver for taking them away

samlovesdilys · 29/03/2020 21:28

Another Sarah Lee classic - the cinnamon pecan danish...no emotional teenage meltdown was complete without one of these!!!! Oohhh, the cinnamonny peacanny goodness!!!

Afonavon · 29/03/2020 21:44

Thayers vanilla ice cream was amazing in the 80s

Heinz Space Invaders spaghetti shapes

Mc Donalds veggie burger (not the current veggie goujons, they’re shit) are still my fave veggie burgers ever, with actual chickpeas. I don’t know why they changed them.

Phileas Fog Californian Corn Chips

Purpleorangegerberas · 29/03/2020 21:45

Cadbury’s fuse bars! If I could find them I’d buy multiple boxes of them!

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 29/03/2020 21:46

Yum...pyramint!

Anyone remember jamborees?

babydogandi · 29/03/2020 21:48

Mars planets!

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 21:51

Oh! Fuse bars ring a bell... I need to google although I’m scared it’ll make me hungry

MaMaMyCorona · 29/03/2020 22:06

Fizzy Ribena in a can
Turkey twizzlers

FuckThisWind · 29/03/2020 22:10

Yes, Heinz invaders soup! Lived on it as a teen.

Yes to Nibbits Wheelz. Used to get them plus many psychedelic coloured fizz bombs from the corner shop circa 1978.

Fuse bars. My all time favourite.

Cabanas. Hhh. I'm afraid Cherry Ripe don't quite cut the mustard.

Birds Appeal / Rise and Shine powdered orange. I may have just paid a fortune for something I'm hoping is similar from ebay.

Ditto creamola foam. Probably highly toxic / illegal. But Oh So Good.

missmouse101 · 29/03/2020 22:22

Anyone remember toffee and mallow chocolate eggs, by Rowntrees? About the same size as a Creme egg. They were fabulous!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 29/03/2020 22:31

@Bluesheep8 you can get raspberry ruffles from poundland

happymummy12345 · 29/03/2020 22:34

Cadbury marble chocolate
The original galaxy dark (the new one that's called dark milk is nowhere near as nice or the same)

vampirethriller · 31/03/2020 07:23

@RoLaren they were Secrets.
Highland Toffee was good too. And Vice Versas.

nakedavengerreturns · 01/04/2020 11:43

Was there ever such a thing in the 80's as slightly bigger than egg sized Easter eggs, maybe they came in a four like a train, that were foil wrapped and were full of soft caramel and marshmallow or have I dreamed it?

sueelleker · 01/04/2020 12:56

I think that's what missmouse101 is talking about, 4 posts back.

Bluesheep8 · 06/04/2020 11:29

princesshoneysuckle really? Thank you so much for that Star
