What discontinued food from years ago do you still miss?

What foods that aren’t made anymore do you miss most?
Mine are Sayer’s Devon Whip, Burtons potato puffs and the vinegar and onion wheel crisps that kwik save used to sell. I can’t remember the name but they were in a blue bag with a squirrel on the front. I would stockpile them without a bit of shame!

@hipopotas I came on to say Mushroom and Wine Pasta n Sauce! Just googled it and they released a limited edition Mushroom and Prosecco version a while back which I totally missed.

Also Mushroom Double Swiss at Burger King.

Mr Men yogurts from Sainsbury's.

Fresco frozen yogurt. Like a Cornetto but yogurt. So so nice.

Evenstar · 29/03/2020 08:16

Sweetheart dessert mix, you whipped it up with milk 😋

Golden cups 😍

Hippywannabe · 29/03/2020 08:25

Thanks for the headsup for the Aussie version of Cabanas. I can't justify £14 for 6 bars whilst this pandemic goes on but will be ordering some when it's over!

Bluesheep8 · 29/03/2020 08:39

I also seem to recall a raspberry ruffle bar. And Toffo toffee sweets in different flavours like banana and strawberry. They were ace!

Bluesheep8 · 29/03/2020 08:41

And Ice Magic. Remember that? It was in a cone shaped plastic bottle you could squeeze. You put it on ice cream and it set hard so you ended up with a kind if choc ice. It cane in orange choc and mint choc too.
And sun lollies

bookandabrew · 29/03/2020 08:42

Cadbury's snow flake, they were amazing!

BikeRunSki · 29/03/2020 08:43

@MissGuernsey and @CentrifugalBumblePuppy, oh yes! Nutty bars!

BiBiBirdie · 29/03/2020 08:44

Proper 80s Skips, not those cardboard tasteless pretenders that exist now.
The old ones used to fizz on your tongue and were properly prawn flavoured (and probably extremely bad for you).

BikeRunSki · 29/03/2020 08:44

McCoys crisps used to come in a mature cheddar flavour, which was much nicer than the cheese and onion they do now.

TroysMammy · 29/03/2020 08:45

Ready salted chipsticks. I don't like salt and vinegar crisps but I suffer them because I love the texture of chipsticks.

Bluesheep8 · 29/03/2020 08:45

bookandabrew oooh yes I remember those, they were lovelySmile

blackberrysoup · 29/03/2020 08:46

Heinz tomato and chilli soup

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 08:47

Dark chocolate mars bars. I think about them about twice a week.
@Fuzzywuzzyhadnohair is this an average count? Or are there two specific days a week that make you think of them? I need to know!!!

I remember ice magic @Bluesheep8 yum!

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 08:48

Ignore my first question fuzzy I missed the “about” when I first read it 🤦‍♀️🙄

blackberrysoup · 29/03/2020 08:48

Salt and vinegar french fries
Gu chocolate chilli desserts

rainbowscalling · 29/03/2020 08:50

Turkey Twizlers!

Strangely the Heck Vegan burgers taste very similar. Obviously not the same but the closest taste wise I have stumbled across

QuacksInTheDark · 29/03/2020 08:51

Frufo yoghurts shaped like a flying saucer with a toy in the middle.
Grilled onion flavour McCoy’s I’m the only person that remembers them. They were fucking lush!
Worcestershire sauce Twiglets.

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 08:52

I really miss some ice creams that we used to have in my secondary school canteen. A couple were Pixar movie based?! A bugs life one, which had little jelly bugs (gummy bear type things) in yellow sorbet and green ice. And a toy story one that was white and orange sorbet in a traffic cone shape.

But the best one. Oh, the best one. It was a little bag of five tiny ghost shaped lollies, the outsides weren’t crunchy but it was a hard-ish shell. Different colours. Then matching colour ice cream/sorbet inside. They. Were. Epic.

I actually saw them again in 2017. Once. In a random farm park (family birthday) that I would never be able to get to again. And I couldn’t even eat them as I’d just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes so I was avoiding sugar. Never seen them since. 😭

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 08:54

Oooh and the sweets, “fizzy jerkz” they were amazing

And when they had those weird yellow smarties that were actually yellow inside. I think they had alien faces printed on them too.

ShadyAcromat · 29/03/2020 08:55

Easter isn't Easter without Rowntrees Fresh Minty Eggs. Like a giant after eight, but nice.

rwalker · 29/03/2020 08:58

rise and shine powdered orange

renegadeoffunk · 29/03/2020 08:59

Gino Ginelli toffee fudge ice cream.
Yes to Ice Magic! That Crackin' stuff you get now isn't the same.

Smokey bacon flavour monster munch

Fiendish feet yogurts

Jolly Ranchers. Especially the watermelon ones.

botley · 29/03/2020 09:01

Chicken Tikka Hula Hoops - purple packet, loved 'em. No one else seems to remember them.... 🤷🏻‍♀️😏
