What discontinued food from years ago do you still miss?

What foods that aren’t made anymore do you miss most?
Mine are Sayer’s Devon Whip, Burtons potato puffs and the vinegar and onion wheel crisps that kwik save used to sell. I can’t remember the name but they were in a blue bag with a squirrel on the front. I would stockpile them without a bit of shame!

M&S cheese pikelets. Couldn't eat them now as vegan but they were great.

mamansnet · 29/03/2020 10:07

Spira and Tab Clear!

Allergictoironing · 29/03/2020 10:22

Sooo many things here that I remember & miss!

Pineapple ripple ice cream, in the cardboard blocks from the local Spar. Was a long time ago (I'm in my late 50's), but was definitely a "thing" - I did a Google search a couple of years back because so many people refused to accept it ever existed.

Tinned ice cream powder you could mix up & put in the freezer in a tray.

Most fizzy drinks before the great sugar demonisation; I have an intolerance to aspartame & can no longer have the vast majority of them.

Toffee & Mallow Easter eggs.

Someone above said cod balls - damn I loved those. Rise and shine powdered orange juice. Fry's 5 centres. Chocolate Lovelys.

motorcyclenumptiness · 29/03/2020 10:46

Amazin Raisin. Best chocolate bar ever.

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 10:47

Ooh yes mars planets.

And the hula hoops - I don’t remember tikka flavour but I remember these weird “shocks” flavours, they were in a sort of cube shaped packet, and the bright green pack were pickled onion. I think they were smaller than regular hula hoops.

All these companies should bring this food back as a well done for getting through lockdown :o

LaneBoy · 29/03/2020 10:48

Clorets mints were nice.

AutumnRose1 · 29/03/2020 10:51

Supermousse. Anyone remember that?

I also miss how Findus Crispy Pancakes used to taste.

Shadow01 · 29/03/2020 11:19

Worcester sauce twiglets, mighty white bread (the new version isn’t the same), Turkistan (sp?) bread. Secret bars

Iseethesilverlining · 29/03/2020 11:31

@Allergictoironing Was rise and shine powdered orange juice the same as Appeal? I loved that!!

The vibrant neon orangeade, cherryade and limeade that the milkman delivered on Saturdays! It must have been mostly toxic I think!

Smithtylater · 29/03/2020 11:56

PeraltasWife · 29/03/2020 12:23

Megan2018 · 29/03/2020 12:40

I have no idea what it was called- but in the 80’s there was this microwave pudding that my brother and I were obsessed with. It came in 2 packets that you made up and put in a bowl, then it magically turned into a vanilla sponge with a hot synthetic raspberry sauce underneath.
It was divine. And full of shit I’m sure.

CucumberFacePot · 29/03/2020 13:01

Another one for Birds Crunch puddings - hot lemon crunch was my favourite and I get a real hankering for it sometimes!

Heinz tinned puddings

Birds Eye Ketchips

PrincessHoneysuckle · 29/03/2020 13:13

Ready salted chipsticks

Extracurricularfatigue · 29/03/2020 13:25

Chocolate Romany biscuits. Really chocolately biscuits with chocolate cream inside. There are things on sale online now called Romany Creams but they are totally different. Never found a biscuit chocolately enough since.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/03/2020 14:06

Vesta dehydrated paella in a packet.
It was my treat for myself when I was a very broke student long ago.

vampirethriller · 29/03/2020 14:11

I'm sure I've seen Vesta paella recently... B and M maybe??
I miss Gino Ginelli toffee fudge ice cream and the tutti frutti one.
And caramac when they tasted proper instead of like a vanilla car air freshener.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 29/03/2020 14:16

Kunzle Cakes.

I keep telling myself that they weren't really as good as I remember, but the truth is I'm sure they were.

coldwarenigma · 29/03/2020 14:21

YY to Toast Toppers, I could get them until last couple of years...come on Heinz!

sueelleker · 29/03/2020 15:53

We never had anything but meat and 2 veg type dinners, bar crispy pancakes a handful of times after swimming. I know they’re still about but not been able to get hold of them in years. Would love to try them on DC.
I wouldn't bother-they've got hardly any filling in them now.

MissGuernsey · 29/03/2020 20:27

Supermousse. Anyone remember that?

Little tubs with a cardboard lid and curved bottom? Came in mint, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate?

maddiemookins16mum · 29/03/2020 20:29

Aztec bars.
Vesta chicken supreme.
