When you were 18 and going Out Out, what was your favourite outfit?

Mum has just sent me a photo of me going Out Out approximately 10 years ago.

I had a giant windswept fringe that took a whole can of hairspray, a H&M floral skater dress with a tiny belt and cardigan, bare legs, Converse and a cross body bag.

Underneath the fringe there's rings of eyeliner and Maybelline Great Lash

I think at this point I thought I looked like Alexa Chung

Early 2000s - Tiny denim skirt, chunky low slung belt (almost as big as the skirt) some kind of tight, low cut top (think Kookai/Jane Norman) and metallic heels!

Early 80's I had loads of jumpsuits.
Loved them.
Etams cotton miniskirt dress, big boxy loose top.

Lilac co ord set with bootcut trousers and a boob tube paired with a white cowboy hat. How my parents kept straight faces when I pulled that little ensemble out is a mystery. Think they were relieved that there was no chance of any teen pregnancies when I dressed like a colour blind cowboy 🙈

Oh i also paired that getup with faux snakeskin ankle boots. Getting the ick even remembering it all

Boot cut jeans with such a low rise that you had to ensure the top of your pubes were shaved, teamed with pointy boots, and a chain mail backless top.

Alternatively, combat trousers with pointy stilettos, and a one shoulder top.

Ah, early noughties fashion was the best!

Oh god 🙈 I had a pair of black trousers that were split on the outside to my thighs and had a fancy pin thing holding them together above my knees, black stilettos with some bling attached that I could barely walk in.
Either that or a leather skirt with a split almost to my knickers on one side and knee high boots.
Both regularly paired with a pink top which I wore with a purple bra underneath because it sometimes appeared see-through in nightclub lights.
My hair was short and died plummy purple and my make up was shiny glittery eyeshadow and lots and lots of mascara. All paired with a tiny handbag from River Island and giant hoop earrings.

When I was in Y12 I had a black top with gold detail, which was cut to look like a butterfly. The butterfly covered my boobs and it tied on with string round the back. It was SCANDALOUS.

I thought I looked the shit.

No pictures exist of me from that time, my parents hated my look. I wish there was one picture so I could see it now.

I was a teenager in the sixties. I had a black and white block mini dress with knee length white boots. Painted on eyelashes like Twiggy, lots of black eyeliner and eyelashes and very pale lipstick. I must have looked like a corpse.

I was partial to a lipsy dress when I was 18 (32 now) so you'll know the ones! Block neon colours etc 😂

Love this - I can tell who is the same age as me! For me it would be platform snakeskin sandals, skintight pencil skirt and a silver boob tube. Thought I was the bees knees down the local nightclub with the other sixth formers! I barely wore a bra in the 90s - couldn't get away with that now.

Jeans, oversize shirt/lumberjack shirt, Chelsea boots/cowboy boots.

Early 90's - black velvet hotpants, opaque black tights, over the knee boots, and a maroon fitted military style jacket. Big, big hair, Paloma Picasso perfume, 20 B&H and the stain of rum and black in lieu of lipstick. Good times.

Mid 90's hipster bootcut lilac trousers and a very short white crop top with high heeled boots and lots of shiny eyeshadow.

Late 1980s. A night out would be the local bikers bar followed by dancing at a rock night club.
