Thought we could have a sort of pet diary thread, what they’re getting up to. With pics!

My old spaniel will be having a fairly quiet day but quite possibly a snack-filled one, as they have muck-spread the fields we walk through. It’s like a giant buffet for him Envy

Cat1 is being weird. She always gets like this in spring as the fleas start biting. She's really sensitive to the bites. She's treated regularly, but they have to bite for the treatment to work and that's what causes her discomfort. She won't settle anywhere soft. She spent last night perched on the toilet cistern. As a result she then gets sleep deprived and looks exhausted. The vet has no suggestions either, I've been multiple times over the years with her and seen multiple vets.

Cat2 is her usual dopey self and is currently stretched out across half of my bed, leaning against DH (who is loving that his new WFH commute means that he can sleep longer).

Giant African Land Snail is ignoring the plum I put in his tank and trying to eat the plastic plant

Fish are doing fish stuff.

Leroy is having a very busy action packed day today, as usual. 🙄

Molly is sleeping - as usual. That dog could sleep for Great Britain (she's an ex racer!)

My cats are eagerly watching out the window. Cat2 is chirping at a fly out there 🥰

TeetotalKoala · 25/03/2020 08:30

Leroy is an excellent name for a cat!

@Steamfan Greyhound? The breed I covet. I so desperately want to get one but DH won't bend on getting a dog at all. I'm trying again though as his main argument was that we like to go on holiday, and it wouldn't be responsible to get one knowing we'd have to find care for it whilst we're away (one week a year, dog could come on the other trips). But we've decided to renovate our house and he's told me that all holidays are on hold for the next few years so we can pay for it. I pointed out that in that case, we'd be home and wouldn't need to find care for the dog. Plus I've changed jobs and am now home by 1pm every day. He's not having it... Yet. I will break him.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/03/2020 08:32

Our dachshund is lying on my bed (sideways across it, of course) gently snoring. I ought to get up but he's so peaceful.

Stilllivinginazoo · 25/03/2020 08:33

Cat one was out all night.hes now asleep in his basket
Cat 2 is currently trilling at a fly outside the window and pacing sill excitedly
Cat 3 is stretched in sun on a bed snoring....

YesItsMeIDontCare · 25/03/2020 08:43

@TeetotalKoala Sadly I can't take the credit, he was named by the rescue. I did have a cat called Brian though, I take full credit for that one!

drinkingwineoutofamug · 25/03/2020 08:51

Flo is lying in the sun. She's making her way up each step on the stairs to see which is most comfy. Then it will be a bounce round the garden chasing flying birds and shouting at birds sat in trees /on the roof.
Hubby will take her for a walk and I will do training and play chase in the garden later

labazsisgoingmad · 25/03/2020 09:00

both dogs asleep in bed as usual
guinea pigs quiet at the moment not very often i get that either
piggies come out in turn for a wander round the house later on
ferret asleep too
rabbit waiting to be let into the kitchen

Bathroom12345 · 25/03/2020 09:06

Our daft black lab is having the time of his life. He had a massive walk yesterday, we live rurally so don’t see anyone. There are lots of secret walks around here.

He loves having all of us around, doesn’t know who to sit next to. Isn’t allowed upstairs so no sleeping off his walk on a bed. We have a large garden and he is lying in the sunshine presumably waiting for his next daily walk.

HebeMumsnet · 25/03/2020 09:45

Have just retrieved a cat from halfway out of a second floor window. No idea what she thought she was going to do when she escaped fully. She could have just walked round the front from the back garden if that's what she wanted to do. It entertained the kids across the road doing Joe Wicks, anyway. I briefly looked like I was flying a cat kite out of the window.

Cat now locked down again. That's her daily exercise for the day done.

RedElephants · 25/03/2020 09:45

This is a lovely thread.
It's made me well up, I'm sitting here feeling sorry for my self.

I'm a 1-1 in school but have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure so am at 'risk' so can't go in.
Dh, no 1 & 2 sons are all key workers, so are at work,

And we had to have our German Shepherd PTS this time last week, I used to talk to her/sing at her/shout at her for lying in the doorways, I miss her so much.

Windyatthebeach · 25/03/2020 09:46

Ddog sunbathing...

Catname · 25/03/2020 09:56

Very hard for you RedElephants Flowers

I'm lying on the bed with one cat at my feet and another on the windowsill sunbathing. Downstairs, we have another 3. They have all had their morning constitutionals and now it's nap time 😴

Dog has gone to work with dh where he will be doted on, no doubt fed sausages and get all the social and mental stimulation he needs for the day. Not looking forward to when/if they close down and no longer have to go in! Dog has his own 2 seater settee in the office, he sits waiting by the front door in the morning for when dh has finished his coffee and leaves for work so he doesn't get left behind 😂

BovaryX · 25/03/2020 10:03

Windy
What an absolutely beautiful greyhound. They are such an elegant dog. We had a rescue greyhound when I was a teen and yours looks just like her

katseyes7 · 25/03/2020 10:19

Two of them are enjoying the sunshine.

Gorgeous dogs all of them.

My girl has had a walk this morning and then joined in with my online hit class Grin she is now asleep. Such a hard life.

Notwiththeseknees · 25/03/2020 10:35

Photo from our dog sitter yesterday morning. I'm beginning to suspect the dog is dead and just being moved for photos.

(Not really, her Auntie is lovely Grin)

Rockbird · 25/03/2020 10:36

Girlcat has buggered off out. Since we've all been home she's decided she's happier outside. She always was a bit of a tart mind you.

Boycat is finding anywhere inside the house that has the sun coming in and falling asleep in that spot till it moves. He's a lazy bugger.
