Thought we could have a sort of pet diary thread, what they’re getting up to. With pics!

My old spaniel will be having a fairly quiet day but quite possibly a snack-filled one, as they have muck-spread the fields we walk through. It’s like a giant buffet for him

Yesterday: ddog went for a walk, then helped out in the clearing of the river at the bottom of the garden for a good hour. Apparently there's some sort of water vole living in the bank which she was interested in. The. Rolled in the ash created by the bonfire

Not our dog but maybe you can enlighten me. Why would a dog be wearing three (only) blue dog shoes??

Dunno but have memories of me in just one sock as a dc when I had one!!

DDog here completely thrown by the fact we are all home - she’s missing her daytime naps to be alert at all times! Getting long walk each afternoon by DC. By 6.30 she’s conked out in her bed .

Ddog got a double walk today - first with me, then DH. He’s exhausted

Borrowed cat has been sleeping all day on dd1s bed with the occasional trip upstairs to see if the hamster is awake. Hamster is sleeping and glad that the cat is not lying next to the cage today waiting for him to wake up. Hamster appears to be itchy but can't figure out why. He's happy enough and active.

Dcats have slept for 9 hours...

Mine has completely cocooned himself in my duvet so a photo would just look like a badly made bed.

It’s been a busy one here - the puppy (little runt who needed a home) is now massive at 4 months old. She LOVES her food more than any dog I’ve ever met, including our two grown up dogs, who I thought were foodies. She had a bad day. This overriding love of hers resulted in her eating a bee. We weren’t too sure what was causing all of her distress until the 6year old suggested shining the head torch down her throat (any excuse - it blinds) and we saw the sting embedded in her tongue. It swelled up and was obviously extremely painful, even after a dose of piriton. But she reeeeaaallllly wanted to eat so she had a tiny amount of food and cried the whole way through - it was hilarious and awful at the same time. But mostly awful. Just as I was about to call the vet to discuss pain relief options, she made a miraculous recovery and has polished off an extra large dinner, then her sisters’ leftovers for good measure.

The cat has just done some yoga with me.

Ah, the head has emerged. But it's time he was away to his own bed.

@bloodywhitecat - is yours a mini schnauzer? Be warned, it starts with blackbirds and moves onto ANYTHING that moves, including leaves......
