Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

As I've found the place of peace, I would love to show you a picture but I couldn't take one.
Brushing the dogs this morning, let the fur fly free. Some a lot got caught in bushes. So I've spent most of the morning and a chunk of this afternoon watching birds come for fur to line nests.
It's as if the bird hotline was in full flow. Saw more and more birds as the day went on.
May see if I can do the same tomorrow and get a pic.

Great idea. love it!
Last week, when it was still allowed, we went to Scarborough and had the special treat of seeing 2 dolphins jumping and diving not too far from the shore.
Much too fast for my camera sadly

willowpatterns · 24/03/2020 16:40

We need more photos of alpacas Smile

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 24/03/2020 16:43

THANK YOU A THOUSAND THANKS!

Raera · 24/03/2020 16:45

I love alpacas!
My DD bought me an alpaca walk for my birthday, they are so funny!
Pack animals and they can't be alone, but none of them want to be "in charge" and so if they realised that they were in the front, would stop until another alpaca could be persuaded to pass them. Slow going!
We set off in lovely sunshine but halfway along the heavens opened and they all sat down and wouldn't budge - they really don't like rain!

ErrolTheDragon · 24/03/2020 16:46

Perhaps we should have a separate thread for nature sightings? A few years ago on The Great Outdoors topic there was a 'nature top trumps' where people posted about interesting plants and animals they'd seen through the seasons. I don't mean anything too competitive (some people back then cheated horribly by living in the highlands or owning a boat in cornwallGrin) - just some of the sorts of lovely things people have already started posting on this thread.

LefttoherownDevizes · 24/03/2020 16:47

DH had just told me that is his best day of the year today as him and 11yo see a caterpillar on their walk today and his favourite football player liked a tweet of his earlier

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 24/03/2020 16:50

Been sitting in my garden watching some lovely bluetits flutter around one of the trees. Also saw two lovely jays. Helped dc’s with schoolwork and felt quite productive.

Also I received package containing the vintage bunty & Jackie annuals I bought on eBay last week and am looking forward to having a flick through them tonight when I’m in bed (nostalgia for a more innocent time!)

TheLarkDescending · 24/03/2020 16:54

Just putting a gratuitous alpaca picture here

Welcome to the no corona zona

Raera

These alpacas (and there were more out of the picture) were as happy as Larry. An alpaca walk would be great fun.... to me they are daft lovable animals.

Not in the picture was a black one which I think is out the ordinary?

Love your pic Lark.

I'm off to see 'mine' again tomorrow Grin

Mrsorganmorgan · 24/03/2020 17:11

My black cat was horrible. (He is a rescue) He used to hunt everything in sight and bring live mice into the house and just leave them, so I bought him falcanry bells for his collar. Worked a treat and he does not mind at all.

The trouble is every time he moves, he jingles

Mrsorganmorgan · 24/03/2020 17:12

Forgot to say thank you very much for this thread.

ShirleyPhallus · 24/03/2020 17:13

I love it! Thank you!

ThatLibraryMiss · 24/03/2020 18:03

I saw the first butterfly of the year yesterday - a peacock. And today was the first really warm day this year. I had a lovely walk in the sun with Small Dog, who loves life.

@ErrolTheDragon but has every bubble passed it's fizzical?

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 24/03/2020 18:41

Whoop whoop, thanks Becky this was a great idea, loving the alpacas and little fluffy dog, we need more.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 24/03/2020 18:44

I don't have alpacas but I do have a cat on a lead if that's any good? He's had social distancing and self isolation all his furry life due to having FIV.

TheGirlWhoLived · 24/03/2020 19:02

I’ve always wanted to RIDE an alpaca... I’m a (sturdy) 31 year old female... do we think this is possible?

MutteringDarkly · 24/03/2020 19:05

Roussette · 24/03/2020 19:05

Ummm... looking at the ones I saw today, I can't imagine you can ride them! They were big, but not huge!

SoupDragon · 24/03/2020 19:07
